Walking Contradiction

BLIND GIRLS, VEGETARIANS AND ENGAGEMENTS

NAIMA’S POV:
The next few days went by fairly uneventful, class hadn’t started yet so I just beat around campus hobbling on crutches through crowded corridors and busy firing ranges. Finally I was allowed to give up the crutches and walk but I had been banned from wearing anything other than uniform.

“Thanks Mrs. Collins.” I said leaving first aid after her making me wait and walk in her office for around an hour. I walked down the corridor and into the dining hall it was time for dinner. I sat down next to a girl with heavy eyeliner.

“Hi,” I said she was younger than me she looked around 13, where as I was going on 19.

“Hey!” Said the girl brightly, “I’m Ramona!”

“I’m Naima,” I said,

“Oh nice name, don’t hear that one often.” Ramona laughed

“Thanks,” I laughed, reaching my manicured nail to my face I swept my long side fringe out of my eye and took off my sunglasses

“Holy Shit! God I’m Sorry, here,” Ramona said she started moving things around and clearing space I looked at her quizzically

“What the fuck are you sorry for?” I said rasing an eyebrow

“Well…aren’t you, blind?” Ramona asked, I couldn’t help but giggle.

“Why would you think that?” I laughed, having a small idea

“Well it’s your eyes there a weird colour.” This sent my glass of water flying from my mouth “Don’t get me wrong there lovely and all it’s just-” I cut her off

“It’s okay seriously.” A bell rang through the hall

“Come on, we have to go get dinner.” Ramona said standing “I’ve never seen you around here before.”

“First week.” I laughed following Ramona

“I tell you now this place sucks. Only thing that keeps me sane is when BJ comes.”

“Hang on,” I said remembering the day I met Billie Joe “You’re Trè’s daughter! I met Billie Joe a few days ago. He smuggled in you’re phone.” I exclaimed

“So YOU’RE why he was late.” Ramona said eyes wide “flat tire my ass.”

“Sorry,” I chortled as we faced the Senior dishing out food, I missed this chore because I was new. I looked down and my stomach dropped to the floor, beef stew was bubbling away.

“Here,” Said the man moving to put some on my plate I pulled it away

“Hello! Vegetarian!” I yelled

“Oh sorry, well you people don’t eat here.” Smirked the senior finally looking at me, I watched his eyes travel along my body and settle on my lips.
“Fine! I’ll go eat somewhere else, at least it won’t be filled with perverts!” I yelled and many people looked up at my last word I slammed my tray on the metal severing bench and turned on my heel storming out of the hall. As I approached the front gate the guard piped up

“Miss you can’t just leave,” She said quietly

“Wanna bet?” I smirked swiping my card the gates opened. I climbed into my car and thrust my foot on the accelerator zooming out of the parking lot and toward town. I watched buildings out of the corner of my eye go by in a blur as I sped in further towards the city, anger swelling in my gut. I parked my car in front of a restraunt called the ‘White Lotus’, known world wide for its amazing vegetarian food. Locking the car I walked to the door to the paparazzi surrounded restraunt. As I got to the door and stepped inside someone grabbed me and pushed me back.

GENERAL POV:
Naima looked up enraged as a security guard pushed her back

“Um... Excuse me,” She said flashing a regular attendee card.

“Sorry Miss, this has been hired for a private function. No general public allowed.” Spoke the body guard bulging with muscle.

“I’m sorry?” Naima’s eyebrows rose in annoyance. “This is bullshit! I haven’t got time for this!” Naima added a string of well chosen four letter words to the end of this statement in rage.

Aggravated she turned to leave. The door the White Lotus opened as someone presumably stepped out cameras began flashing in a daze one of these many camera men pushing her over. Billie Joe Armstrong stepped outside lighting a cigarette trying to ignore the paparazzi crowding around the restraunt.

BILLIE JOE’S POV:
I lit my cigarette, and took a long drag from it I heard someone swear in pain and aggravation even trough the loud clacking of cameras. A length of black hair bopped up from the ground, only to shrink down again and rise seconds later. The girl turned gracefully and I gasped silently her beauty was astonishing with delicate pale features and blood red lips, I swore I recognised the face. She removed her large black sunglasses revealing large tiger coloured eyes and I dropped my cigarette.

“Naima?” I asked, the girl looked up at me.

“Yeah? Hang on Billie Joe is that you?” She asked

“The one and only,” The paparazzi began looking for the girl I was talking to, “What are you doing here?” I asked walking towards her.

“Well I was coming here for dinner, but it seems you’ve booked the place out.”

“Well, now you’re staying for dinner. That’s if you want to?” I said now whispering in her ear, she had replaced her sunglasses over her eyes and the hood of her zip-up jacket was over her head. I could tell she didn’t want the paparazzi taking her photo to have it plastered in various magazines unlike most girls I encounter, especially ones around her age.

“Try and stop me,” She whispered back and ducking her head she rushed back inside with me. Naima began to feel rather shy as she stepped into the restraunt everyone was done up to the nines where as she was well not. She was dressed in a little black skirt, with green and black stripy socks that came halfway up her thigh, black knee high boots and an acid green top that matched her newly painted nails. Now of course she looked hot she always did, but as she surveyed various people in there designer dresses she felt herself backing toward the doorway. Billie Joe grabbed her by the upper arm and pulled her back toward the many people.

“Okay, well we haven’t eaten and we wont for another half an hour or so. So come socialise,” She glanced at him ever so shyly and nodded following him.

“Dude, are they gone there’s a starbucks over the road and I fucking need a coffee,” Mike said wide eyed as Billie and Naima approached him

“No, why can’t they leave us alone.”

“The divorce?” Mike presumed and Billie shot him a dirty look

“Well, you guys might not be able to go out there but I can.” Naima butted in impulsively suddenly not so shy

“Coffee,” Mike said snapping his head so his eyes looked with hers “Dude if you can get me a coffee I will love you.” He said, he thought she was a waitress or something except for the get up she was very pretty but he had only eyes for his beautiful fiancée Brittney, maybe she’d just finished and was on her way out.

“What do you have?” Naima asked, after memorising Mike’s order she dashed outside hoodie once again shielding her face.

“Nice waitress,” Mike said sitting down with Billie Joe and Tre at the bar.

“Mike, she’s not a waitress.” Billie Joe chuckled

“Then who the hell is she? And why is she here?” Mike asked his foot tapped the ground as he waited for his coffee

“Her names Naima and that’s basically all I know.” Billie Joe said awkwardly and Mike couldn’t help but laugh.

MIKES POV:
The door to the restraunt opened once again and the girl with the black hair and large sunglasses walked in holding to angels my dear starbucks. She walked over and passed me a coffee she set the second down and removed her hoodie. Now I was beginning to see why Billie had brought her in. She was absolutely stunning, with shapely curves and large boobs. A key fell out of her pocket and she bent over to pick it up, a perfectly proportioned ass was in front of Billie barely covered by her short skirt he was having a very hard time keeping it in his pants but she didn’t even realise the trance she had my best friend in. As she sat down next to Billie she sipped her coffee and sighed I raised an eyebrow at her reaction to the coffee

“What I’m addicted and haven’t had it in a week.” She laughed

“HOW CAN YOU NOT HAVE COFFEE IN A WEEK!” I gawked

“Damn school won’t let us have it.” She muttered under her breath

“Fuck School, you can have after school.” How dumb can you get honestly?

“Military School, Mike.” Billie Joe said with a laugh

“Military School? Don’t you have a curfew then?”

“Fuck the damn curfew.” She said “I’m Naima by the way,”

“Mike,” I said extending my hand her hand flew to her mouth in mock shock

“Mike? No I could’ve sworn you name was John.” This Time it was all of us who laughed “Happy engagement by the way,” She said

“How’d you know?” Both Billie and Joe looked at her, she took off her sunglasses with a soft giggle

“A rock that big is kind of hard to miss, and no, the public don’t know.”

“Oi Fuckers, dinners ready.” Tre said walking through the door separating the bar from the restraunt

“Finally.” I said

“I know what you mean. The food better be good.” Trè said

“It is don’t worry,” Naima said still facing the far wall, I could she her eyeing the Tequila with longing

TRÈ’S POV:
A girl’s voice rang across the room, and I noticed for the first time the length of dead straight jet black hair sitting on the far left next to bright eyes. She stood from her bar stool and turned.
“Hey,” She said her voice floated through my mind leaving a permanent mark as it went

“Hi, I’m Trè.” I said laying on a smooth voice as my eyes wondered up her perfect form from her shapely hips to her blood red lips that contrasted against her pale skin. She seemed oddly not to really care.

“I’m hungry,” She laughed

“Nice name, hungry.” I Mused she laughed

“I’m Naima, but seriously I’m like starved lets go eat.” She said

“I second that,” Billie said raising his hand

“Eye!” Mike chortled and the four of us walked into the main section where entrée’s were just being served. Mike was sitting next to Brittney and before long she was practically sitting ON him. Next to mike was Billie, then Naima, then me. Across from us sat Adrienne, then Estelle, then Ramona, then Joey, then Frankito and then Jakob along with many other friends. The tension between Billie and Adrienne just seemed to grow as the serving of entrée’s continued. Finally someone spoke and I laughed as Frankito looked at Naima questionably

“Who are you?” He asked

“I’m Naima, you must be Frankito.” Her voice was softer and sweeter as she spoke to the kids

“How did you know?” He laughed

“I’m physic.” She teased conversation started to grow mostly directed to Naima as no one other than Billie had met her before

“So, you said you were at military school,” Mike said and this drew Naima many looks “and I’m guessing it wasn’t on you will. So how come?” He said

“Long story short my whole life has been pretty dangerous. And a while ago I found this guy and knocked him unconscious. Apparently there’s some kind of law about not doing that, but I seem to remember also that killing people and destroying the world are illegal to but the still have dear old little black box.” She said

“So why didn’t they send you to Juvi?” I asked, Naima just went silent she didn’t even breath “Naima?”

“Yeah,” She said she seemed really out of it

“Well?”

“I don’t know. I suppose they thought Military School was more appropriate.” She said quietly

“A toast,” I said standing up; “To all things beautiful, and horny,”

“Trè minors.” Adrienne apprehended me

“Oh and of course to our lovebirds Mike and Brittney!” I laughed

“To Mike and Brittney,” Said everyone raising there glasses.
