Boyfriend's Ex Best Friend

Matt was right. I did still love Josh, but, I lost him.
He’s been trying to talk to me for a while, but I’ve been avoiding him.
Matt and Max are happy at least.
The weeks just seem to fly by, it was already April.
I was going back home for spring break.
The girls were all going back home, all but Max and Matt they were going to Main for vacation.
My dad picked me up from the airport and took me home.
He took me out for lunch and we talked and got caught up.
Just then Josh walked in with a girl on his arm.
He looked over at me and smiled.
I smiled back and went back to talking to my dad.
I tried to ignore Josh but it was kind of hard since he was walking over to us.
“Hey Vi, Hello Mr. Myer” he smiled.
“Hey,” we said as the girl walked over.
“Hi,” she smiled.
“I’ve been try to get a hold of you. My mom is free of cancer,”
“What?” I grinned.
“Yeah, about a month or so ago. She didn’t tell you?”
“I must have missed the call or something,” I lied. I knew she called but I thought it was Josh.
“That’s great,” I said grinning. “I’ll stop by today or something,”
“Great,” he said. “Oh, and this is my friend Jenna, the girl from the other night,”
“Oh,” I said. “Wait…”
“I dumped him so you two can get back together,” Jenna said walking away.
I blushed and Josh glared at her. “Sorry about that, um, enjoy you’re lunch,”
I smiled and looked at my dad.
“Do as your hear says and you’re heart is screaming Josh,”
“No it’s not,”
“Are you deaf?” he asked as he took out his wallet.
I laughed as the waiter came over and we paid for out meal.
As we left I looked over at Josh and Jenna.
They were laughing at something.
I smiled and Jenna caught my eye. She pointed to me and Josh looked up and smiled.
I grinned and walked out of the restaurant.
Maybe my dad was right.
