Raina stood above Milan, looking down at the ring. In a rush happiness she said

“Yes!” Milan slipped the ring onto her finger and jumped to his feet and Raina wrapped her arms around him and pressed her lips up against his. The team came over to congratulate them. Raina looked down at the ring on her finger. It was gorgeous.

“I love you,” she said to Milan. Vlad came over and said

“I’M THROWING YOU A BACHELORS PARTY!! We’ll just get twenty kegs of beer and see who can drink the most!” There was some more celebration on the ice and then the Bruins had to return to the locker room.

“I’ll see you later,” said Milan kissing her.

“I wanna move in tonight!” said Raina.

“How about tomorrow when we have the whole day to bring your stuff over?”

“No tonight!” Milan laughed and said

“Alright you can sleep there tonight but tomorrow we’ll move your stuff.” He walked down into the tunnel. She saw Jasmiina next, running towards her with her arms outstretched.

“OH MY GOD, I’m so happy!!” Jasmiina jumped on her as she wrapped her arms around her in a hug. Raina laughed and said

“You knew all along didn’t you?”

“Ya I did,” she said, “I could barely hold it in.” She laughed and said “Now if I could just get Tuukka to hurry his ass up.”

“Raina!” The two girls looked up to see Claude.

“Hi dad, “she said nervously.

“Lucic and you are engaged now?”

“Ya,” she said. She was worried about how her dad might react. But she felt a flood of relief when a smile spread across his face.

“Congratulations sweetheart, Milan’s a good guy; I know he’ll take good care of you. It’s just so hard to see you growing up so fast.” He came forward and hugged her. “you’ll always be my baby girl.” She felt tears coming to her eyes and said

“Dad I’m not going away forever.”

“I know, it’s just hard to see you go; now it will just be me and your mother at the house.” He laughed and said “Maybe we’ll get a dog.”

“I’m gonna stay at Milan’s tonight and then move all my stuff over tomorrow.”

“Are you going home now to tell your mother?”

“I am,” she told Jasmiina to let Milan know that she’d be at his apartment after. She drove home to Lexington. Her ring sparkled in the darkness and she couldn’t help staring at it. She pulled into her driveway leaving her car out front. When she got inside she ran upstairs to find her mom watching the news.

“Mom I can’t go to college in LA because I’m engaged.” Her mother’s attention instantly shifted from the TV to Raina.

“What?”

“At the game tonight Milan proposed to me, I said yes,”

“Lucic?”

“Yes,”

“You’re only eighteen,”

“So?”

“So you’re too young to be engaged.”

“Dad’s fine with it,”

“How old is Milan?”

“Mom it doesn’t matter, I’m moving in with him, tonight I’m sleeping over there, and tomorrow I’m moving all my stuff in.” Raina then went upstairs leaving her mother deep in thought. She grabbed a small duffle bag and put in some clothes, toiletries, and her pillows. On the way back downstairs her mother didn’t say anything to her. Raina got into her car and headed back towards Boston.

Raina dealt with the traffic and finally reached Milan’s apartment around 11:30. She walked into his, no their apartment penthouse. She saw him sitting at the kitchen table, waiting for her. Without saying anything he got up, came over and swept her off of her feet. He held her in his arms and carried her upstairs. He set her down on her feet in their bedroom doorway, hugged her from behind, and whispered into her ear.

“Welcome home sweetheart,” She turned around and hugged him tightly.

She quickly changed and got into her new bed. The mattress was soft and she sunk into it like it was a cloud. The comforter was poofy, thick, and make of a very soft material. She had put her own pillows on the bed, it was so comfortable. Milan shut off the lamp that lit the room and got in next to her. She cuddled up next to him, curling into his big bare chest. He kissed her forehead and said

“Goodnight sweetie, I’m so glad we’re finally together, I want to be with you forever.” Raina burrowed her face further into his chest, warmed by his body heat. As they both slipped into sleep the lights of Boston, Massachusetts glistened outside their window. The hockey-obsessed city was at peace, happy with the Bruins win against the Canadians. Everything seemed to be going smoothly, for now.
