Who Do I Want? What Do I Need?

Jacks POV

I’m sitting in math, thinking. Not about math, that shit I don’t get. I don’t even get why they have us learn this shit when we never use it. I’m thinking about Alex. I don’t know why, but he’s been on my mind this whole period. “Mr. Barakat? Mr. Barakat are you even paying attention?” “What?” “I asked what ‘y’ equals.” “oh uhh sorry I wasn’t paying attention.” “See me after class Jack.” The bell rang, and I get this long lecture about how I havent been paying any attention in class and if i want to pass i better start paying attention early. I walk out the door and I spot Alex. “What are you doing here?” I asked. “Oh, uhh I believe we have chemistry together.” I look at my schedule, yup, we have chemistry. “Well. Instead of just standing here lets go before we’re late.” As we walk down the hallways I cant help but to glance at Alex from time to time. He’s wearing a white v-neck shirt, a black sweater, blue jeans and a pair of converse. “What are you looking at?” Alex asked. “Uhh nothing…” “…right”

Alex’s POV

This Jack kid seems nice, but he keeps staring at me. Its almost like he has a thing for me. I mean yeah I think I look good and all but he’s a guy its just… weird. I look over at Jack… actually I’m pretty much staring at him now. “Okay now what are you looking at now?” “Um nothing.” “Right, well here we are.” We walk into a small room with barely any kids. Jack and I sit next to each other. “Well class,” the teacher said “Welcome to a new year.” I look over at Jack and I catch him staring. He quickly moves his head. This whole period mostly talked about what we’re doing this year. Nothing seemed interesting so I decided not to listen. I looked over at Jack again, he’s looking at the teacher probably not listening either. All of a sudden the bell rang. I leap up to the door leaving Jack behind. I run into Rian “Hey, how’s your first day so far?” “Uhh its, its fine.” “Think anybody’s cute?” Rian asked “no not really.” “hey where’s Jack? Aren’t you guys in chemistry together?” “oh uhh I don’t know I wasn’t paying any attention.” “Alex? Why did you run off like that your lucky that you found Rian.” “Oh, uhh sorry.” I pull out my schedule “Looks like we have a free period next.” We got to the cafeteria there were students asking each other how everybody’s summer was. I didn’t have homework yet so I thought this was a good time to get to know Rian, Zack, and Jack. We sat down at a table. “So guys,” Zack said “find any hot new freshmen?” “No,” Rian answered, “how about you guys?” “I found some cute kids in our grade” Jack answered “Who?” Zack and Rian asked in unison. “I’m not telling.” Jack said as he looks at me. “How about you Alex?” Jack asked. “Oh nobody’s cute here.” I started to get to know the guys. Zack plays bass and guitar, Jack plays the guitar and Rian plays the drums. They found out that I play the guitar too. The bell rang. We walk out and separate to our classes.
