Fenced In Hearts

Best Day of My Life

*SUNNY’S POV*

I looked up at Damien as he worked, fiddling on the seat he set me on. I looked around his workshop, amazed by the things he had created. These things were amazing, no doubt about it. I hated the whole use of the weapons. I didn’t like violence. But I loved the beauty of them. I stood and walked over to an elf bow, smiling at the light weight and the strong frame.

I looked back at Damien and frowned slightly. I felt weird around him. I mean, not a bad weird… but a good weird. I know, how odd does that sound?! But I mean, for once in my life, I actually felt… safe. Which was strange, because I’ve only known him for… a few days now. I mean, his brothers were certainly welcoming enough. Not to mention his little brother, Kaspien, was the sweetest little neko I’ve ever met! No! He was the sweetest person I’ve ever met period. Sure the sweetest neko too, but he topped the people too! He topped all the creatures I’ve met. And I’ve met a lot.

I sighed under my breath and looked back at the werewolf. He was gorgeous, there was no doubt about that. He was spunky and loving. I could tell. Everything about him drew me in, and it wasn’t just a crush type luring. I felt literally gravitating towards him, as if he were a magnet and I was made out of steel!

“You okay?” I heard his soft voice ask. I looked up, getting caught in his brooding chocolate eyes. I gulped before nodding.

“Y-yeah… just a little tired I guess.” I shrugged. He smirked.

“You can go to sleep if you want. You’re not forced to stay here you know.” He chuckled. I giggled slightly and blushed, nodding.

“Okay. Thanks Damien.” I blushed, walking over and pecking his cheek quickly before dashing out of the room. I saw him blush profoundly as I walked up the hall towards the guest room. On my way there I ran into Zimmy and Kaspien. I grinned when I saw the little kitten.

“Sunny!” He squealed, tackling me in a hug. I giggled and hugged him back, burying my head in his shoulder.

“Can I talk to you?” I asked, blushing softly. He giggled and nodded, looking down at himself.

“Err… just let me change.” He laughed. I nodded and hugged him again before walking up the hall.

“Hi Zimmy.” I smiled a little timidly. The large demon was very intimidating. His entire essence all but screamed dangerous and stay away.

He smiled back, nodding his head, but didn’t speak. I smiled back before walking into my room. I looked around and sat on the bed, fidgeting with my hands a little. I really needed someone to talk to. And since Kaspien seemed to be the one who’d taken great liking to me, I decided to confide in him. After all Xavier seemed pretty indifferent, Zimmy was just too intimidating, and I doubt he’d want to hear about my problems. And everyone knows I couldn’t speak to Damien even if someone paid me a trillion dollars. I’d only screw it up. Trip over my words and what not.

It wasn’t long before Kaspien walked in, all smiling, his face flushed. I looked up and grinned. I liked what he was wearing. It didn’t take a scientist to figure out the kitten was very stylish.

“So, what’s up?” he grinned, flopping down on my bed. I smiled and laid next to him, shrugging.

“I think I like Damien.” I mumbled. He gasped, looking at me and squealing. I winced at the sound, trying hard not to laugh.

“That’s so awesome!” He grinned. I shook my head.

“No! I’ve only known you for a few days! This is so wrong!” I whined. He giggled, tackling me in a hug. I ‘oofed’ and landed on the bed, my back flat against the mattress when he curled his tail around me. I laughed and hugged him back, letting my head rest on his tiny shoulder.

“I think he likes you back.” He taunted. I blushed, shaking my head.

“Why would he? My father almost killed your mom.” I mumbled, looking down. I still hated my father for doing that. He had no right to take King Alex from his home. No right to threaten the kids, no right to do any of it!

“Hey, don’t start that again! My parents forgive you. You didn’t even do anything! My mom would squeal if he knew you liked Damien.” He gushed. I shuddered, shrugging.

“Do you really think I even stand a chance?” I asked, looking down. He scoffed, tilting my chin up and kissing my cheek.

“Are you kidding, that big pup would be lucky to have you. And I know he likes you. I can tell. You don’t go 118 years of being family without knowing that.” He grinned. I couldn’t help but smile widely, hugging him tightly.

“Hey thanks Kaspien.” I murmured. He grinned, nodding and hugging me back.

“No problem. So, you need to tell him.” He grinned. I scoffed, choking back a laugh.

“You’re kidding right?!” I shrieked. He giggled, shaking his head.

I shook mine, “No way Jose!” I screeched. He giggled again and sighed, rolling his eyes.

“Oh, you’re funny when you’re all worked up. He’ll say yes if you ask him out. But I think it’d be more romantic if he asked you first.” He grinned. I rolled my eyes and groaned, blushing horribly.

“Shut up Kaspyyyy… he doesn’t like me.” I whined. He giggled again, patting my back. I heard him gasp and squeal. I frowned, looking up at him.

“what?” I asked.

“RAIN!” He grinned, pointing outside. I cocked an eyebrow.

“Yes… rain. Yuck.” I stated, shaking my head. I hated the rain. It blocked all the beautiful sun.

“I love the rain! And so does Damien.” He winked. I shuddered.

“Ew. It blocks all the sun though!” I protested. He giggled and shook his head.

“Whatever! I’m going out! You sleep or whatever you dragons do when it’s raining.” He grinned. I laughed and kissed his cheek as he sauntered out of the room.

I bit my lip, cocking my head to the side.

Could Damien really like me?!

*ZIMMY’S POV*

I sat in my room, working on my latest song, trying to forget how badly I had wanted to kiss Kaspien in the bathroom. I shuddered, slamming my hands down on my piano. Ugh, fuck piano. I stood and walked over to my bass guitar. I picked it up and started fiddling around with the notes. I played a few chords and fooled around until I got a pretty decent melody.

I needed to learn to control myself better.

I couldn’t let loose like that again. I didn’t want him thinking I was a perv. I didn’t want to push him away. It’d be weird if he didn’t return the feelings, especially since we’re brothers.

I shuddered, looking out my window as I sat in my shell chair and played with the strings. I saw the rain pouring down outside, the droplets splattering against my windows. I smiled softly. I loved the rain. Actually… I loved how Kaspien looked like in the rain. All wet and giggly. It was adorable but incredibly sexy at the same time. I shuddered, groaning and slapping my forehead.

“Stop it! Stop it! Stop it!” I growled to myself, shaking my head a few times.

I should so not be thinking these things!

Knock, knock, knock.

The door opened before I could even say ‘come in’. I looked over and saw Kaspien running through. I cocked an eyebrow but laughed when he lunged at me, hugging the daylights out of me.

“Let’s go! Let’s go! Let’s go!” he grinned. I smiled at how nicely the grin brightened his face.

“Go where?” I laughed softly, rubbing his cheek. He whined.

“Outsideeeeeee. Duhhh.” He pouted. I laughed and shook my head, eying the rain.

“Okay, whatever you want bud.” I smirked, standing. He grinned and jumped on my back.

“Yay!! Giddy’up!” He grinned. I laughed softly and ran outside of my room. I ran down the halls, almost knocking into Payton and Macey. I ran past our aunts and uncles and our fathers, straight into the rain. Kaspien squealed on my back and jumped off, running and jumping in a puddle. I laughed and ran towards him, the rain already soaking through everything I was wearing. My skinny jeans felt more like a second skin than they already were, and my shirt was soaked through, the white fabric slightly see through. I looked over to Kaspien and tackled him, making him giggled. The rain soaked his hair, landing neatly on his face and his plump lips.

I laughed and tickled his sides, making him squeal and jump up, running around trying to avoid me.

“You’ll never get me!” He laughed out, squealing and giggling from joy.

I dashed after him, easily catching him and picking him up. I swung him over my shoulder and spun around, making him shriek and hang onto me tighter.

“Put me down! Put me down! Put me down!” He giggled. I laughed and threw him in the air, catching him bridal style. He squeaked, his ears flat on his head and his tail tucked between his legs.

“Ugh! Not funny!” He whined, slapping my arm playfully. I giggled, kissing his cheek before setting him down.

“You’re it.” I whispered in his ear before dashing away. He gasped, laughing as he tried to catch me. I jumped up in a tree, the rain still coming down, but at this point I was soaked through and through; what did I care?

He jumped up in the tree, tackling me off the branch. I yelped, landing square on my back. I laughed and shook my head.

“No, I believe you’re it.” He grinned, immediately jumping off of me and dashing away. I groaned and stood, looking around for a minute. Whoa, where’d he go?!

I scanned the area until I saw the hint of the roan tail I knew and loved. I smirked, walking up towards the rose bushes. I snuck up behind him and grabbed him around the waist, making him shriek. He turned around, his eyes full of fright, but as soon as he saw me he calmed down.

“Hey, relax!” I laughed. He rolled his eyes and smirked, eying the ground. I cocked an eyebrow and gasped when he picked up the mud and threw it at me. I gasped, dropping his waist.

“Oh! You little-…” I trailed off and grabbed a handful of dirt, throwing it back at him. He giggled and ran off, taking tuffs of grass and dirt on his way, flinging it back at me as he went. I laughed, continuing to throw the same stuff back. It wasn’t long before we were covered head to toe in mud and grass.

“BOYS! GET IN HERE!” I heard our mother shriek. I laughed and lunged at Kaspien, grabbing him by the waist and hauling him over my shoulder. He giggled and shook his head, his wet tail wrapping around my eyes. I yelped when the blindfold was applied.

“Kasp I’ll drop you!” I threatened. He squeaked and removed his tail as he continued to giggle. I walked over to the back steps and walked up, laughing when I saw our mother there, eyebrow cocked and hands crossed over his chest.

“Go wash up. But this time, not in my bathtub.” He smirked, shaking his head. I laughed and nodded.

“Thanks mom.” I smirked as I carried Kaspien into the castle. I ran my full speed, trying hard not to get too much water and mud on the floor as I made it to our room and to our bathroom.

He giggled as I set him down on the toilet, motioning for a maid to draw a bath. I shuddered, chuckling softly as I sat on the ground, waiting for the water. I saw him shiver softly, his cheeks loosing their pink and his lips slightly purple. I chuckled.

“Cold?” I asked. He laughed and blushed, shaking his head.

“How’d you guess?” he asked sarcastically as he shuddered. I smirked, looking over and seeing the maid had finished with the bath. I got up and stripped of my shirt. I handed it to the maid and tried to pull off my pants. I groaned and ripped them off, handing them to the maid. I looked over to Kaspien and saw him trying to pull off his wet skinnies. I laughed and walked over.

“Need help?” I asked. He blushed and nodded, holding up his legs for me. I laughed and reached over, taking a hold of his waistband and pulling down. I couldn’t help but brush my fingers across his cold thighs as I slid the jeans inside out and off of him. He looked up and shuddered before standing. I stripped of my boxers and jumped in the bathtub, going under and getting my hair wet. I looked over and saw Kaspien jump in the bath, grinning under water. I smirked and swam back up, sitting against the wall. I shuddered and began washing myself off.

I tried not to look over to him, to not notice the way his chest dipped in between where his ribs were, to not notice how incredibly sexy his hair was when it was wet. I tried not to notice how his trembling hands slowly washed away the dirt. I tried not to notice how his eyes closed half way, a soft moan escaping his lips as the hot water washed away the chills running through his body. I shuddered at the sound, trying hard not to make anything of it. I looked away and squeezed my eyes shut, washing myself quickly.

“Hey Zimmy?” I heard his soft, lustrous voice ask. I looked back, letting him know I was listening.

“Does Damien like Sunny?” he asked. I chuckled, nodding.

“He imprinted on him.” I smirked. Kaspien gasped, a grin spreading on his face.

“No wonder he’s so attached! That’s adorable!” he squealed. I smiled at how cute he looked. He grinned and did a little happy dance.

“Awe, that’s just plain adorable.” He gushed. I laughed softly and shrugged.

“You’re cuter.” I mumbled under my breath, not wanting him to hear. I looked over and bit my lip.

He grinned at me, now finished with his cleaning. He sat on the step and indulged in the warm water, his tail flicking back and forth in the water as he sighed happily. My eyes drifted down to his slightly parted lips. I saw his tongue click behind his pearly teeth, making me want to jump him right there. My eyes traveled lower, watching as his bare chest rose and fell. I shuddered and shook my head.

Maybe it was the hot water messing with my mind. Maybe it was the stupid bubbles. Maybe it was the confidence coursing through my veins from what Damien had told me. Maybe it was the way his hair whisked to temptingly, the way his lips moved and the way his skin shimmered. Maybe I had gone completely insane. I didn’t really have a rational explanation for what I did next.

I groaned and waded over to him. He opened his eyes and grinned up at me.

“What?” he asked when I didn’t smile.

“I love you.” I whispered out, leaning in and taking his chin between my thumb and forefinger. I pressed my lips to his, nearly dying at the feeling of his soft, rose petal lips meshing with mine.

Not only that, I think I died and went to heaven when I felt him moan softly and kiss back timidly, his own hand riding up and setting on my chest.

“I… I’m in love with you.” I whispered, breaking off. I didn’t want to, but I needed –no, I wanted- to get this off my chest. He looked at me wide eyed when I took his hands gently in mine. I cupped his cheek and leaned in again. He didn’t protest the kiss, instead he tilted his head to the side, leaning in as I pressed my lips to his once more.

“I… I love you too.” he stammered, looking up unsure. Now I’m sure I’d died and went to heaven. I grinned, not believing my own ears.

“Say it again.” I whispered, sitting down and bringing him in my lap. He gasped softly before grinning himself. He leaned in and pressed his lips to mine, sending sparks down my spine and through my entire body.

“I love you Zimmy.” He whispered. I looked up at him and shook my head in disbelief.

This was by far, the best day of my life.
