If It Hurts This Much Then It Must Be Love

Julie’s pov
Jack had driven us out to this gorgeous lake, in the car park beside where he parked the car was a table set up and an amazing meal – a lot better than our usual microwaved dinners.
“Sit down gorgeous” he said pulling the chair out for me.
As I went to sit down he pushed the chair in too fast pushing me over, I landed on the chair with a bump.
“Sorry!” Jack almost screamed kissing the top of my head.
“It’s okay babe.” I laughed smiling at him as he walked over, to his seat; lucky he managed to get to that without tripping – Jack was just one of those people, a natural klutz.
The meal its self was gorgeous and starring at Jack in the diming moonlight – I just knew this moment was perfect. We hadn’t spoke for a while when Jack’s voice broke the still silence
“Do you want to go for a walk down the pier?” he asked smiling.
“Yeah sure.” I replied, as I stood up I grabbed his hand and we walked slowly along the pier.
Once we got to near the edge we stopped walking and stood and watched the calm lake. Jack held on to my waist tightly as we watched the moonlight shimmer along the lake.
“I could stay here for ever – it’s perfect” I whispered.
“It is perfect isn’t it!” Jack laughed beside me.
He then let go off my waist and began to rummage round in my pocket. He then pulled out a tissue triumphantly before grunting and throwing it behind him into the lake! He then continued his search – he looked nervous.
Eventually he had found what he wanted, he the grabbed my hand with his free hand and slowly he got down on one knee.
“Julie, I love you more than I love anything, even Alex - so will you...”
He then swayed a bit, I knew he’d drank too much wine, he tried to steady himself quickly but failed.
Seconds later there was a splash as he landed in the water, I felt a wave of panic but I found myself laughing instead.
As Jack’s head came above the water he shouted “Marry me!”
“Yes” I shouted and I held my hand down towards him to help him up and out of the water, instead he pulled mine and I went flying in beside him.
“JACK!” I screamed but soon we were engulfed in a water fight.
