All I Wanted Was You

Happy. Can I let myself be happy?
I looked at him.
And it didn’t take me long to answer that question.
Yes.
“What do we do tonight? Flower garden or the gazebo?”
“How about we say a quick hello and bye to Dan and Cor and then think about it?”
“Deal.”
He took my hand and we walked onto the seat area where Dan and Cor were waiting.
Cor went up to me and hugged me.
“You were amazing Lin!”
“Thanks Cor.”
“And Rob I had no idea you could sing. You have such an astonishing voice. I didn’t know you could sing.”
“Haha yeah I am a musician I just haven’t had the chance or opportunity to actually sing in front of people for quite some time.”
“either way nice song.”
“Can’t go wrong with The Pretenders.”
Cor laughed and looked down at our intertwined hands.
“Did I miss something?”
He smiled and blushed
“Yeah you did.”
“Spill it Robert.”
“She said yes to being my girlfriend.”
Her eyes widen and her smile go bigger
“Oh my gosh! Congrats!!”
Dan smiled as well but took another route.
“That’s great Morgan. And Rob just as an added precaution you hurt her you won’t love to regret it.”
“Dully noted and plus I won’t ever hurt her…I promised.”
I smiled.
“We are gonna get going.”
“Where?”
“Who knows?”
I smiled and waved at my friends and walked off with Rob.
“So you have any idea on where you want to go?”
“Well yes and no but I don’t know if you would want to.”
“Want to what?”
“Just follow me.”
He held my hand and lead me somewhere.
“We are heading to the hotel aren’t we?”
“Well yeah but I want to show you something?”
“Okay.”
We walked to went in and took the elevator but he pressed a new buttons this time.
“R?”
“Yeah.”
“Where does that go to?”
“You will see.”
A few minutes the elevator dinged and the doors opened to reveal the roof.
“Wow.”
I walked out and went to the edge.
I looked at the lights that made the town shine at night.
Rob came from behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me to him.
I tensed up a little but relaxed a few seconds after.
“How did you find this place?”
“I was wanting to find a place to breathe and be by myself and I was in the elevator saw the r and pushed it. I hoped it didn’t set off an alarm, which it didn’t, and brought me here. And fell in love with the view.”
I looked up at the night sky and stared at the stars.
“Its all so beautiful.”
He bent down and kissed my forehead.
“They are nothing compared to you.”
I smiled.
“I think I can stay here forever looking at this sight.”
“Me too.”
We stood there admiring the lights, the silence, and the people walking by. We shared the silence together, not uncomfortable but being there at that moment with each other.
This was all new to me.
New in the sense that, it was different from my last experience, very different.
