The Monster and the Fox Riders

It's Monday and you just got back from your race. You're lying on your bed with your eyes closed when you get picked up.

“Todd, put me down,” you demand.

“Why?” he asks.

“I want my bed, let me sleep.”

“I want waffles!”

“Then go bug Marissa or the damn Monster girl. Just not me; I'm not in the damn mood.”

You hear the door open.

“Mate, what are you doing to my Sheila?” Bilko asks.

“Bugging me and not letting me sleep,” you reply for him.

“It's ten!” Todd protests.

“I couldn't go to bed on the plane.”

“Todd, let my Sheila sleep,” Bilko reasons.

He drops you on the bed and leaves. You sit up and Bilko comes and kisses you. You smile and look up at him.

“How did the race go?” Bilko asks, stroking your hair.

“First. But it wasn't as good as my last ones.”

“Why you think that?”

“You're not up there, so I'm just trying to stay in first, instead of finishing fast to be with you.”

“I should make a point to come to your races,” he concludes.

“It's fine. I still got first place.”

“Bilko, let your Sheila sleep,” Todd yells.

“Sleep good?” Bilko asks. “We're going out tonight.”

“Where?” you ask.

“It's a surprise,” he answers.

You laugh and lay down on the bed. He pulls your covers around you and closes your door.

You wake up four hours later. As you go downstairs there's a knock at the door. As you open it you see Luke, your older brother.

“What are you doing here?”

“I need to talk to you Blair.”

“Come in,” you offer. He comes in and heads towards the kitchen as you shut the door.

“Do you want anything to drink?” you ask.

“Water would be good,” he replies. You get a Monster and water before sitting at the table.

“What do you want Luke?”

“Me and Ashley are getting married.”

“Good for you guys,” you say. Todd comes in the kitchen and stops in his track.

“Who's this?” he asks. Bilko follows him in and you can see he isn't happy.

“This is Luke, my brother,” you explain.

“Who are they, Blair? Do you live with these guys?”

“These two don't live here,” you begin, just as Jacko comes in to say hi. “That one lives with me though,” you finish.

“You live with a guy,” Luke repeats.

“Guys, go over to Todd's,” you say.

Jacko nods, trying to pull the others with him. You sigh, smiling up at Bilko as you look at him. He smiles at you with an extra emotion you can't quite read before leaving as well.

“Luke, you pissed off my boyfriend, this better be good.”

“Which one was it?”

“Doesn't matter now, so what about you and Ashley are getting married? You are getting out of law school; I expected this.”

“I'm getting married and she is an only child so she doesn't get the same problems as me.”

“So?”

“I want dinner tonight,” he tangents.

“Fine,” you reply. “Go have dinner.”

“With you,” he clarifies.”

“Can't. Promised Blake that we'd go to dinner tonight.”

“So what?” he asks. “It's just one date.”

“I don't break plans,” you reply tersely.

“Blair,” he warns.

“Luke, all you have to do is explain I ride a dirt bike. Then she'll see why almost our whole family hates me.”

You get up and open the door.

“We don't hate you,” Luke explains. “It's just that you're so smart.”

“I love what I'm doing.”

“What does that have anything to do with it? I hate being a lawyer.”

“But you do it anyway because you're 'supposed' to, while I'm doing what makes me happy.”

“You're crazy. You can't just do what makes you happy, you won't be stable.”

“Whatever,” you finish, gesturing to the door, which he promptly leaves through. You head to Todd's house.

“What did he want?” Todd asks as you enter.

“He wanted me to meet his girlfriend. She doesn't know what I am; doesn't get the family situation.”

“He wanted you to meet his girlfriend so she could hate you?”

“More than anything else.”

“...he's your brother,” Bilko realises. You go over and hug him.

“Babe, are you okay?” you ask.

“Yeah,” he replies. “It's just...”

“I look nothing like him,” you finish. “I know.”

“You're weird,” Todd says.

“Fuck off, Todd.”

“My house!” he retorts.

You sigh, before going back to your house with Bilko. Just as you go in he grabs your hips.

“I missed you a lot this weekend.”

“Know the feeling,” you reply.

He picks you up and you wrap your legs around him. He starts walking upstairs while kissing your neck. You pull away and look at him.

“What is it?” he asks.

“Not today, Bilko,” you say. “Not today.”

You kiss him before taking him to the couch.
