Say That You Need Me

Chapter 40

“It’s not what it looks like, Payton” Robbie told her.

“Really?” Payton asked. She grabbed her suitcase she had her stuff from La in and opened it, she almost put it down on the bed but stopped herself, she set it down on the floor and went to her dresser.

“Ok, so maybe it is what it looks like…” he trailed off.

“No kidding?” she asked, rolling her eyes.

“It was one time.”

“I seriously doubt that, Robbie.”

“Ok, it was a lot of times, but you were doing it in LA.”

“Your right I was, and the sex was great” she told him, as she zipped up the suitcase. She walked down the stairs into the kitchen to look for more stuff to take.

“So, were over?” he asked, fallowing her around.

“I just caught you in bed with some blond bimbo, yeah were over.”

“I’m sorry…” he trailed off.

“You’re not sorry, your sorry you got caught, and guess what?” she asked him.

“What?” he asked, kind of scared to ask.

“I don’t even give a shit; you don’t mean anything to me anyway.” She walked over to the front door, “I’m kinda glad this happen.”

With that she walked out of the front door and got into her car. She sat there a minute thinking.

“Don't stop baby, don't stop baby
Just keep on shaking along.
I won't stop baby, won't stop baby,
Until you get enough”

A song rang through the car and she didn’t have the radio on, she looked around until it hit her and she picked up her cell phone.

“Baby I like it!
The way you move on the floor
Baby I like it!
Come on and give me some more!
Oh yes I like it!
Screaming like never before
Baby I like it!
I, I, I like it!”

She rolled her eyes and looked at who was calling, “Joe” it said.

“Joe” she whined into the phone.

“Ha” he laughed.

“Why do you do that all the time?” she asked.

“You were right, that loin song was annoying.”

She just sighed, looking down.

“Why did you leave?” he then asked.

“I just had to...” she trailed off.

“I miss you already” he told her.

“I miss you to.”

“I think you’re scared” he then told her.

“Scared?”

“You’re scared of loving me.”

“Can we not talk about this right now?” she asked.

“When do you want to talk about it?” he asked.

“Never, I just want to be your friend, Joe.”

“I want to be your friend to, I can’t go without you in my life again” he told her.

“Then no more love talk, we can just be friends.”

“That’s fine with me…” he trailed off.

“Good” she stated.

****

“So, where are you right now?” Joe asked.

“I am on my way to my mother’s house.”

“Why?” Joe asked.

“Cause I just caught Robbie in bed with some blond chick.”

“Doing what?” Joe asked.

“Knitting…” Payton trailed off. “Having sex, you idiot.”

“Oh, what’s that?” Joe asked. “I haven’t had sex in so long I forgot.”

“Get a girlfriend” Payton told him.

“I tried but she doesn’t love me…” he trialed off.

“Joe” Payton whined, not wanting to bring it up again.

“What?” he asked. “Her name is… Layton and she is totally hot.”

“Joe” she yelled again.

“What?” he asked again. “You don’t know her; she’s in love with my brother….. Frankie.”

“Whatever” she muttered, pulling up to her mother’s house. “I’m there, so I have to go.”

“Alright, I’ll call you tomorrow” Joe told her.

“Ok, bye.”

“Bye, I love you… I mean, I don’t... I do, but… oh shit.” The line went died and she rolled her eyes at it. She got out of the car and walked up to the front door and found the key that they hide under the mat… great place to hide it, very original.

She messed with the door for a few minutes, trying to get it unlocked, it was pitch black out there and she couldn’t see a thing, finely she got it and walked inside, her suitcase trailing behind her.

“DON’T MOVE” she heard someone yell.

“What the f*ck?” she asked.

“I have a bat, don’t move.”

“Mom, its me” Payton yelled, to nowhere, it was still dark and she couldn’t see.

“What are you doing here?” her mother asked.

“I just got back from La” Payton stated.

“And... you forget what house you live in?” Beth asked.

“No, I left Robbie.”

“Took you long enough.”

“Mother” she whined.

“I’m sorry, I mean, oh goodness why? She asked, fakely. “Let me guess, he was boning some other chick when you got home?”

“How would you know?” Payton asked.

“Please, it was so obvious; he just looks like a two timer.”

“Well, maybe you should have said that before I moved in with him.”

“Eh, you wouldn’t have listened to me anyway.”
