Chapter 45

Joe walked into his parent’s house, and straight up to his room, he had only one thing in mind and that was to call Payton.

“Hay, Joe” Payton stated, on the other end.

“She got them” he told her, trying not to cry.

“No” she said on the other end.

“She f*cked the judge…” he trailed off.

“That’s not right, tell your lawyers.”

“What’s the f*cking point?” he asked, the tears burning in his eyes.

“You have to do something” she told him.

“I can’t do anything; she’s moving them on Wednesday.”

“I’m so sorry, Joe” she told him.

“I can’t believe she did this to me” he stated, falling onto his bed.

“I never liked her…” Payton trailed off.

“You barley knew her” Joe told her.

“I still didn’t like her.”

His lips curled into a small smile. “I miss you Pay.”

“I miss you too” she told him back.

“Why don’t you come back to La for awhile?” he asked.

“I can’t, you know that.”

“But I need you” he told her.

“Joe I…”

“I know, I know, you have a life there… blah, blah, blah” he stated, cutting her off.

“I’m sorry” she told him, again.

“I get it” he told her. “But maybe I can come to you.”

“I don’t know…” she trailed off.

“Why not?” he asked.

“The last time we saw each other you confessed your love for me, I don’t think it’s a good idea for you to come here or for me to go there.”

“You already know though, so what’s the difference?” he asked.

“I don’t know…” she trailed off.

“Fine, you know what, if you don’t want me to come then that’s fine, and if you don’t wanna come here then that’s even better” he told her, sounding pissed off.

“Joe, it’s not like…. Joe?” she asked, then heard a beep sound. “That dick, hung up on me”
