Layla’s POV
I slid sunglasses onto my face as I lay back on my beach towel, relaxing in the sun coming from high above.
The group consisting of Daniel, his girlfriend Amelia, Lianna, Alex, Jackie, Aaron, Adam, Zoe, Nathan and myself; had all decided that today was a good day to go to the beach, it was too hot to spend the day inside anyway so a day at the beach sounded good.
The guys were off playing volleyball while us girls laid there and tanned, or well we all did but Lianna who was off flirting with the lifeguard who she thought was hot and had been building up the courage to talk to him for a while.
I looked to the side and held out a hand asking Zoe
“can you pass me the lotion?” she reached for it and handed it to me and I quickly smoothed some into all the exposed skin before laying back down and closing my eyes.
We had been laying there for maybe twenty minutes when Lianna came over and squealed
“I have a date!” I think in unison, we all sat up and looked at her
“really?” I asked and she nodded with a dreamy smile
“yeah, Jacob, the lifeguard, asked me out this Friday coming” she sighed again before falling to her towel in a love sick heap.
Alex eyed her a moment before deciding to knock reality back into Lianna’s head
“does Dad know?” Lianna stared at her a moment before groaning and hiding her face with her hands
“oh god! I totally forgot about Dad, stupid me” she looked towards the lifeguard and sighed “I guess I’ll go tell him no” she went to get up but Jackie grabbed her arm to stop her
“whoa there, no need to break the date, just make sure that your Dad knows when you get home and assure him that he can meet Jacob before the date, it should go fine” Lianna looked unsure but nodded and sat back down.
She sat there chewing on her lip for a moment before she looked at us all and asked
“where is the sun tan lotion?” I held up the bottle and she reached over and applied it before laying back and relaxing like the rest of us.
It wasn’t long until the guys got bored with just playing volleyball by themselves and decided to drag us up there as well.
Of course Lianna didn’t want to look like a prat in front of Jacob so she didn’t bother joining in with the game but instead stood off to the side cheering for whichever team had just scored a point.
We had to be about half way through the game when I heard my ring tone going off loudly from over by the towels. I quickly hit the ball towards one of the other girls and jogged over to my bag, meaning Lianna got pulled into the game against her will which didn’t make her happy but as I picked the phone out of my bag I saw that she put on her determined face and glanced over towards Jacob to make sure he wasn’t looking at her so he wouldn’t see her embarrass herself.
Looking at my phone I smiled when I saw Jaden’s name on the screen.
“hi Jaden”
“hey there, I have a surprise for you”
“oh yeah what is that?” I asked curiously
“well I am going to be back in two days!” I screamed, gaining the attention of everyone in a 30 mile radius
“oh my god! You’re coming home!” I stage whispered to him and he laughed over the phone
“yeah I am, I can’t wait to be back in Huntington with the family” I giggled
“are you sure you want to come back to this mad place?”
“honey compared to touring, home is a gift from god” I smiled
“aww well I’ll look forwards to the party you have told your Mom haven’t you?”
“no she’s my next call, I thought I would tell you first... don’t tell her”
“I won’t, don’t worry but you had better call her now”
“ok see you soon”
“bye” I then hung up and looked up to see Gemma sat next to me
She smiled and asked
“what’s going on?” I grinned
“Jaden is coming home in two days” Gemma’s grin widened
“really?” I nodded and she squealed before running off to tell the others who had resumed their playing. I just sat back with a grin on my face.
Nathan’s POV
Gemma came running over with a grin and Daniel flicked his hair out of his face and asked
“so what is the matter with her?” Gemma giggled
“nothing, she found out that Jaden is coming home in two days” everyone cheered but I stayed silent
