I Set My Clocks Early Because I Know I'm Always Late

I saw the police quickly remove themselves from their vehicles running over to Peter and the rest of the hunters handcuffing them. A quick glance at William and I realized he was walking over towards the scene.

"William! What're you doing? Get back over here!"
He turned his head back sent me a quick smirk and continued walking. I ran over to Michael realizing I was by myself.
'Michael! He's going to get arrested.'
"Calm down Elsie."
'NO! He's going to get in trouble.'
I began to walk over there but was held back by my brother. I tried to squirm out of his arms but couldn't.
He began pulling me further away from the scene.

I noticed William shaking hands with the police and the hunters being removed from the scene. I also noticed William didn't even look around to see if I was safe. He just kept walking. I'm not going to lie, that hurt.
Soon we were back at the manor and I quickly ran up to my room and locked the door. Simply repulsed by William's behavior. I quickly bathed and changed into pajamas, and jumped into bed.
There was a pounding on the door.
'ELSIE OPEN THIS DOOR!'
"NO THANK YOU WILLIAM!"
'Elsie I swear, I will punish you for this!'
"There's a comfy couch downstairs if you'd like that!"
Suddenly there was a hand around my neck,
'Actually I think I'll take my bed.'
I quickly jerked out of his grip and crawled into bed facing away from William.
'You'll soon realize my dear, you'll soon realize.'

What does that mean?

I glanced over at William.
'I love you doll face. You know that.'
"Why didn't you defend me then?"
He took my chin in his hand, 'You know I can't let them know how precious you are to me doll. I told you a long time ago, that I want you by my side forever.'
"Why didn't you even look around for me? To see if I was safe!"
'I can't make it look like I care. They'll use you against me and you know that.'

"Well Michael didn't either and they know we're related!"
'We're trying to keep you safe. Can't you comprehend that?'
"I DON'T NEED TO BE KEPT SAFE! I CAN PROTECT MYSELF!"
'FINE, WE'LL TEST THIS. TOMORROW NIGHT, YOU WILL LEAVE AND WE'LL SEE IF YOU CAN KEEP YOURSELF SAFE!'
"FINE!"
'FINE!'

I jumped back out of bed and began packing a backpack.
'What're you doing?'
"Getting my bag ready, so leave me alone."
'I love you Els.'
"whatever douche."
He quickly flashed behind me and grabbed my neck.
'SAY IT BACK!'
I struggled against his grip, "NO!"
I suddenly felt a sharp pain across my face and was thrown into the wall across the room.
He crouched down next to me and grabbed my chin.
'Elsie, Elsie, Elsie. When will you learn my dear?'
I quickly mumbled what he wanted to hear.
'What? What was the that? I couldn't't quiet hear you.'
"I love you William."
'Much better.'
