I Won't Say I'm in Love

Avoiding Kisses

My eyes opened as my ears slowly registered the sound of soft snoring. I was wrapped in a pair of large, warm arms. It took me a moment before I remembered that I had fallen asleep with Jacob last night. I looked around the room with my eyes, scanning every inch of it. However, I do not remember being moved to the bedroom…I thought to myself. Shrugging my shoulders, I looked at the source of the snoring…and smiled. Jacob was fast asleep, holding me close to him like I was his teddy bear. He had a slight smile on his face, like he went to sleep happy. I hoped that I had something to do with that. The smile on his face right now was worth more than anything in the world.

It was so untainted and innocent. Sincere. There was no trace of hostility in it. I hadn’t known that the conscious Jacob had anything to hide, but when comparing that smile with this one…Jacob was hiding something big, and I knew it. I felt so special, watching him like this, in a state of uninhibited innocence. It was…well, beautiful. He was beautiful.

Guess I had never seen anything beautiful ‘til I first saw you asleep at night.

The words of Corrine Bailey Rae’s song Call Me When You Get This popped into my head. My first instinct was to deny them. I had too seen beautiful things before seeing Jacob asleep! My mother’s smile…my brother’s laughing face…sunsets on the beach…a baby bird trying to fly for the first time…

But even after all those things, I realized that none of them, not a one, compared to the magnificent sight that lay before me now. I smiled again and lifted my upper body off the bed with my elbows. I pushed a lock of sweaty hair off of Jacob’s slightly slick forehead. I moved it over his temple and let my hand rest there, slowly stroking his soft face. His snoring had stopped, which I assumed, meant he was awake, but he pretended to keep sleeping so that he could cherish the moments that I lay there, watching him and caressing his face. I laughed a little bit at this and put my head down for a second to smile before looking up again.

I let my fingers trace the hairs in his eyebrows, the rise of his cheekbones, the curve of his lips. I did this all softly and slowly so as to make it seem like I was trying not to wake him. This lasted for about five minutes as I gently traced every contour and detail of his face. I was just beginning to caress his cheek again when he let his eyes flutter open. They locked on mine and I felt my heart stop as he smiled at me. “Good morning,” he greeted me quietly. My smile got even bigger.

“Good morning,” I replied, rubbing my thumb along his cheek. “Did you know that you snore?” I asked him, pulling my hand away from his face and using it to prop my chin up.

“So I’ve been told,” he murmured, smiling warmly at me. His face still hadn’t changed and butterflies began to swarm ferociously in my belly as he looked at me with those eyes.

“When did we get into the bedroom?” I asked him. He yawned and stretched, letting go of me for only moment before he pulled me even closer to him before. I placed my arms around his neck and looked at him.

“We fell asleep out on the couch and I carried you in…don’t you remember?” he questioned, his brow furrowing. I shook my head.

“I don’t remember anything after Cady, Gretchen and Damian all vow to defeat the evil Regina George,” I sighed. I had expected him to laugh a little, but he didn’t. His face fell.

“You don’t remember what you said last night?” he asked in disbelief. I shook my head.

“No…sorry,” I apologized. It was a weak, frail little thing. I was sure there was something else I could say, but I couldn’t think of anything. Jacob’s face immediately fell into the mask that was his every day attire. His eyes were hardened just a bit more, as were the rest of his features.

“Whatever,” he shrugged, pretending as if he hadn’t just gotten broken up about the fact that I couldn’t remember what I said last night. It must have meant quite a bit to him, I realized.

“What did I say?” I asked, wondering if it was good or bad. He shrugged.

“If you don’t remember, then it wasn’t that important to you,” he said monotonously.

“Well, was it important to you?” I asked him, brushing another piece of hair off his forehead. He nodded.

“Yeah, a little,” he admitted bashfully, looking down. I put a finger under his chin and lifted his face up to look at mine.

“Then it was important to me,” I told him. He gazed into my eyes intensely, never breaking eye contact with me, and I didn’t want him to either.

“You told me you loved me,” he murmured. I could see the hope glinting in his eyes as he said this, and it made my heart beat faster.

“I do love you Jacob,” I said, my voice barely above a whisper. His eyes bored through mine, seeing right to my soul. And it was crazy, but I knew I could see his too. It was glowing, illuminating him from the inside out. It was the most gorgeous light ever, even more beautiful than that of firefly’s on a cold winter night. More stunning than the stars glinting in the midnight sky. More breathtaking and pure than the light in the eyes of a newborn baby, drinking in the world with it’s wholesome view. I was dizzy as I stared into his soul. It caught me off guard and made me feel like I was high on happy gas. The world and life itself suddenly felt like a dream: unstable, unsure and illusional. The only thing that was real and secure, was Jacob’s arms around me, holding me close to him like the most precious thing in the world. When I was with him, I felt like I was the most precious thing in the world, and so was he to me.

Slowly, Jacob began inclining his face toward mine, staring at my lips. My head was spinning; I had no idea what to do. He was going to kiss me, I knew it. It was coming fast and the time to act was now. My heart was screaming, Kiss him! But my head knew that it was a horrible idea. I was already falling madly in love with the boy, which was extremely dangerous. If I kissed him now, there would be no turning back. I would love him and there was nothing I would be able to do to prevent it. The deed would be done, and I would be his forever. I couldn’t afford to let that happen. As his lips moved closer and closer to mine, I leaned back further and further until—

“WOO—!” I fell back off the bed and onto the ground. “Ow…” I groaned, my eyes shut tight. That was real quick thinking, Calypso. You didn’t wanna kiss him, so you threw yourself off the bed! Pure genius, my conscience said sarcastically.

My conscience was mean.

“Are you okay?” Jacob asked, looking at me curiously over the bed. I looked up at him, rubbing my head.

“Uhhh…yeah. Yeah, I’m just…gonna take a shower,” I said in an uncharismatic voice. I then got up and walked as fast as I could to the bathroom.

“Hey baby,” Nate greeted me as I walked to the car. He was leaning up against his Porche with his hands in his pockets. I smiled as he grinned at me.

“Hi,” I greeted happily as I tossed my backpack into his car. He pulled me into a tight hug and I smiled into him. I wrapped my arms around him as well, inhaling his intoxicating scent. Goosebumps ran all along my body as he rubbed my back. He then pulled away just enough so that he could kiss me. His soft lips crashed against mine and I was the happiest girl in the world. I sighed and wrapped my arms around his neck as he pulled me closer to him. I could feel his heart beating against mine and I realized it was fluttering quite frantically. I tangled my fingers into his hair and cherished the feeling of our bodies pressed closed together. It was sinful, but heavenly at the same time. It was the most wonderful feeling ever.

“HEY!” we heard a voice shout from beside us. We stopped kissing, but didn’t let go as we turned around to face a smiling Konstantina. “We have to go. Can you guys kiss once we’re at the restaurant?” she asked, hopping in the back seat. We both looked at each other and laughed.

“Ignore her,” he murmured as he began inclining his head toward mine again. I placed a finger to his lips.

“I don’t want to be late for my interview though,” I said as he stared at me, our faces literally an inch apart.

“You won’t be late. I promise. Now kiss me,” he said into my finger. He then took my finger down from his lips and kissed me. I smiled as our tongues met and began wrestling.

“Mmmm…” I groaned as I pulled away still smiling. “Nate, we have to go,” I whined. He laughed.

“All right,” he said, pecking me once more on the lips. “We’re going,” he whispered, his nose touching mine.

“Good,” I said. He laughed, pecked me once more and then let go of me. I slid into the passenger seat, he got into the driver’s seat and we left the school parking lot. About twenty minutes later, we had arrived at Lenny’s Diner. We walked up the pier to the small restaurant, filled with chatting people. Before we stepped inside, I checked out my reflection in the glass to make sure I looked okay.

I was wearing a black knit turtleneck with short sleeves tucked under a high waisted brown, leather bubble skirt that was fairly short. I wore tall brown boots that reached my knees and brown, gray and pink striped over-the-knee socks that peeked above the shoes and came a little lower than mid thigh. I had on pearl earrings, a thin brown watch with a big, white face and a somewhat chunky leather brown bag over my shoulder. I opened up my compact mirror and made sure that my makeup was okay. I was wearing dark brown eyeliner with black mascara and a very light dusting of makeup, along with a sheer coat of brown lip gloss. I had left my long black hair out and wavy for today (*Her outfit). I deemed myself ready and all three of us walked in.

The diner was loud and busy. It smelled of burgers and strawberry milkshakes. There was a constant stream of noise, which included the sound of grease popping, people babbling, the jukebox playing and girls roller-skating. There were several booths with shiny red cushions and tables draped in red and white checkered tablecloths. As I was looking around the diner, I noticed a leggy, busty blond waving over at us. I looked closer and realized that she was waving specifically at Nate. He smiled slightly and gave a shy wave, then placing his hands in his pockets. I looked back and forth between him and the girl as she started approaching us on her skates.

“Who is she?” I asked lightly under my breath, leaning in towards him.

“No one. I promise,” he swore, whispering in my ear.

“Are you sure?” I asked, my voice becoming shriller, but still a whisper. The girl was getting closer.

“I’m one-hundred percent positive,” he guaranteed, now looking back up at her. I was beginning to protest, but in half a second, she was in front of us.

“Hey Nate!” she greeted happily, giving him an excited hug around the neck, making sure to press her ample chest against his in the embrace. She had her make-up smothered face buried in his shoulder, so she didn’t see it when I cocked a skeptical eyebrow at her. Nate grinned and wrapped his arms around her, but not nearly as intimately, I noticed.

“Hey Sam,” he greeted in a friendly tone, pulling away from her. She backed off and looked at him, putting both hands on her hips.

“Long time, no see, huh?” she asked with a warm smile. She only had eyes for him; it was quite uncomfortable. I heard Konstantina snort from beside me. We all looked over at her and she rolled her eyes.

“You saw him yesterday, Samantha,” she said, venom carefully concealed in each one of her words. She was glaring daggers at this Samantha girl and I could tell she didn’t like her.

“Yeah, but it feels like forever,” she plainly flirted, letting a long, slender finger trail down Nate’s arm while batting her long, brown eyelashes at him. He sighed and looked away. Not in an “Oh-God-I’m-gonna melt” kind of way, but like a “God-please-get-this-slut-away-from-me” kind of way. It made me much more secure. Nate slyly snaked his arm around my waist and pulled me in close to him.

“Sam, have I introduced you to my girlfriend Calypso yet?” he asked. I noticed Samantha’s eyes flicker down to the way Nate’s arm was so comfortably around me. I smiled at the way her confident expression faltered, becoming confused and a bit insecure.

“Um--no. No, you haven’t,” she said, regaining her bubbly composure. She smiled at me, but I felt it wasn’t genuine. I was afraid to turn my back because I had a feeling if I did, she would stab a knife there. I smiled at her as brightly as I possibly could.

“I’m Calypso,” I introduced myself, sticking out a hand for her to shake, leaning into Nate. “It’s a pleasure to meet you,” I lied brilliantly.

“Pleasure,” she agreed falsely, shaking my hand. When she let go, I laid my head on Nate’s shoulder and rubbed my hand in circles on his chest as he rested his head on top of mine. “I’m gonna go take the orders of table seven. I’ll see you guys around!” she said cheerily before skating away.

“Bye,” we all trilled in falsetto voices as she left, waving. Once her back was turned to us, Tina frowned and made the “fuck you” gesture by slamming her left forearm into the crook of her right arm, whose hand was making a fist. Nate and I chuckled.

“I take it you don’t like her,” I said, stating the obvious.

“Anybody who prefers not to have sex with girls doesn’t like her. The only ones who do like her are either attracted to girls, secretly attracted to girls or secretly hate her. So unless you plan on tappin' that anytime soon, you wont like her either,” Tina explained.

“Are you saying that if you’re friendly to her, you’re attracted to her?” I asked. I felt Nate tense up beside me. He knew where I was going with this. Tina nodded. I slowly turned my head until I was looking Nate in the eye. “Nate, you were quite friendly with her. And if what Tina is saying is true, then you plan on getting your hands on her ASAP.” Nate sighed and rolled his eyes. I hated playing the part of the jealous girlfriend, but I couldn’t help it. Samantha was just so flirty and pretty and had so much sex appeal, it was hard not to hate her when she was so obviously interested in Nate.

“Aaand I’m gone,” Tina said, going into the changing room to change into her uniform and get to work. We watched her walk away before Nate pulled me over to the side. He placed one hand on eiither side of my hips and looked me in the eyes. I kept my arms hanging limp by my sides.

“Calypso, please don’t worry about Samantha. I promise, nothing is happening between she and I,” he tried assuring me.

“Did something used to happen between the two of you?” I couldn’t help but ask. He softly brushed a piece of hair from my forehead.

“We had one night of…unihibited passion a few months ago, but it meant nothing and resulted in nothing,” he said. I cocked an eyebrow at him.

“Uninhibited passion sounds more romatic and involved than ‘a brief fuck’ or ‘a one night stand’,” I told him. He chuckled and pulled me closer to him by my hips. He wrapped his arms around my waist.

“Fine. We had a one night stand during which we briefly fucked, but it meant nothing,” he joked. We both laughed as I wrapped my arms around his neck and smiled into his chest.

“I believe you,” I said, looking up at him.

“Good.” He kissed me once on the lips, sending my heart racing. I sighed and kissed him back for a brief moment before pulling away. “I have to get to work,” he murmured with his forehead against mine. I looked up into his big brown eyes and nodded.

“And I have to go find uncle Lenny,” I said. Lenny had insisted that I call him uncle Lenny, and he was such a kind man that I couldn’t think of any reason to protest.

“He said I could drive you home when your interview was over,” he told me. I nodded again.

“Sounds good,” I agreed. Nate kissed me once more on the forehead grabbing hs apron and hair net, pulling it over his head as he went to the back to cook. I sighed and scanned the restaurant for Lenny’s head. He was a tall man, about 6’7” and hefty. Not fat, but thick. I saw his head full of thick brown hair over a booth. I straightened my shirt, pulled up my over-the-knee socks and walked over. “Hi uncle Lenny,” I greeted timidly, one hand on my purse strap over my shoulder, the other one sticking out for him to shake.

The big man smiled and stood up. “Calypso!” he exclaimed happily in his booming voice. Hs presence filled the room. He was such a happy man. When he wasn’t busy, he personally went around the diner from table to table, cheerily asking customers about the food, their days, their lives. He was so easy going and pleasant to be around, which was one of the reasons this place was one of the main hangout spots after school or for tourists, the few that we got. He lifted me up in his strong arms and spun me around. I laughed, my arms pinned down to the sides.

He laughed his big, full laugh and set me down. I was laughing as well. He then bent over just enough to look me in the eyes and held either side of my face with both hands. “How’ve you been?” he asked in his heavy Greek accent. I smiled at him.

“I’ve been great uncle Lenny. And you?” I asked. Lenny already liked me a great deal; all I had to do was keep it that way and I had the job.

“I’ve been fantastic Calypso,” he said, placing his hands on my shoulders and standing up straight. “Let’s begin this interview, shall we?” he invited, gesturing to the seat across from him in the booth.

“Gladly,” I said with a smile as we both slid in. I set my bag down beside me and crossed my fingers on the table in front of me. I was ready.

I ran inside the small red house beaming and slammed the door shut. “I got the job! I got the job! I got the job!” I shouted, running into the house. I tossed my bag on the table as I ran into the living room where Charlie, Billy and Jacob were all watching the game. I made sure not to get in front of the t.v, but I stayed to the side, still smiling like crazy. Charlie, Billy and Jacob all watched me with interested expressions as I hopped up and down. “I got the job! I got the job! I got the job!” I shrieked again. Jacob’s eyes widened as he stood up, his arms out towards me.

“Congratulations!” he yelled in my ear as he picked me up and spun me around. I giggled as I locked my arms around his neck and wrapped my legs around his waist. He eventually stopped and I pulled my face back from his neck and smiled at him, but he still held me up.

“I start work next week after school on Tuesday!” I exclaimed.

“Calypso, that’s great!” he gushed, looking sincerely happy for me. My heart swelled.

“What job?” Charlie asked from the couch behind me. I looked around and stood on the ground, still smiling, but keeping an arm around Jacob’s waist.

“I got a job as a roller girl at Lenny’s Diner,” I explained happily. Charlie smiled.

“You’re a roller girl?” he asked, raising his eyebrows in disbelief. I nodded. He grinned.

“Well Calypso, that’s fantastic! Just watch out for those pervs,” he added sternly with a frown and a point. "A lot of nasty boys and men go to eat at Lenny’s Diner, specifically for the waitresses. Don’t get yourself into trouble. If you need me to beat anyone up, just call the police station and ask for me. I’ll come running.” I smiled, my heart filling. I was touched by his offer; it sounded like something a real dad would say. Something I would have hoped for my dad to say if he found out. I felt a small lump forming in my throat when I realized just how serious Charlie was.

“Thanks Charlie. That means a lot to me,” I told him. He had no idea.

“Congratulations Calypso. If anyone deserves that job, it’s you,” Billy commented contentedly from the back. I smiled at him.

“Thanks Billy.” Just then, an idea struck me. I gasped and turned to Jacob, my eyes and mouth open.

“Jacob!” I breathed excitedly.

“What?” he breathed in the same tone and with the same facial expression as me.

“I have to call Emmett!” Jacob’s face fell a bit and he looked ready to protest, but I zoomed out of his arms and into the kitchen before he could stop me. I picked up the phone and ecstatically punched the number in. It began to ring and I waited anxiously to hear someone’s voice.

“Calypso?” I heard a voice answer. It was Esme. I frowned for a second. They didn’t have caller ID.

“How’d you know it was me?” I asked curiously. Esme chuckled.

“Alice had a hunch,” she explained. I smiled.

“Oh,” I said. “Is Emmett there?” I asked, immediately pumped again. I was ready to jump through the phone, give him a big hug and tell him. Esme sighed.

“Oh, sweetie. Emmett’s out right now with the rest of the boys. They’re hiking,” she explained sadly. Again, I frowned.

“Hiking at eight thirty at night?” I questioned, truly confused this time.

“It was an overnight thing. They’ll be back tomorrow,” she elaborated. “Do you want me to give him a message?” I shook my head.

“No, I’d like to tell him myself if you don’t mind.” Esme chuckled.

“Not at all sweetie. I’ll tell him to call you.

“Thanks Esme,” I said gratefully.

“Anytime honey. Good night."

“Night.” I hung up. I made an overdramatic pouty face with my bottom lip sticking out as I sat in Jacob’s lap, who had snuck into the kitchen to listen to me on the phone. He was sitting at the table, watching me.

“Wha’s wrong?” he asked me, wrapping his arms around my torso. I curled up into a ball and snuggled into his chest.

“Emmett wasn’t there,” I mumbled. He chuckled.

“He’ll call you soon, I’m sure,” he said. He sounded a little bitter to me. I decided to ignore it.

“I think I’m gonna go to bed,” I said, getting off his lap and standing up. I stretched and gave a big yawn. When I stood on my tippy toes, I could feel my skirt ride up higher on my legs and my sweater pull out of the waist, giving Jacob a good glimpse of my upper thighs and bellybutton. I knew he was getting an eyeful. I smirked to myself before standing straight again. Jacob immediately composed himself and looked me in the eye.

“Want me to come with you?” he offered, standing.

“Would you?” I begged, wrapping my arms around his waist and looking up at him with puppy dog eyes. He laughed and softly kissed my forehead. I quietly sighed and closed my eyes, cherishing the moments his warm lips rested against my skin.

“Of course,” he smiled down at me, wrapping his arms around me and pushing a piece of hair behind my ear. I grinned up at him.

“Night Charlie! Billy!” I shouted quickly, not letting go of Jacob.

“Night!” they both hollered back. I then took Jacob’s hand and led him to the bedroom door. Before we entered, I turned around and placed my hands on his chest.

“Wait here,” I commanded before entering and closing the door behind me. I walked over to the dresser I was using for the week—Jacob didn’t want me living out of a bag; he said I was worth more than that—and I pulled out my pair of green froggy pajamas. Accidentally, however, when I pulled them out, I also pulled out my pink nightie from Victoria’s Secret. It fell on the floor and I eyed it. It was awfuly tempting to try on…

I shook my head and pulled off my clothes, putting on the satin shorts and tank top. “You can come in Jake!” I hollered. He opened the door and looked at me.

“Those are cute,” he complimented with a small smile. I grinned and shyly toed the ground, pushing my hair back behind my ear.

“Thanks,” I said quietly, getting under the covers.

“I’m getting changed. Close your eyes,” he said, walking over to the dresser and pulling out the second drawer. He froze in the middle of selecting a pair of pants. He looked over his shoulder and flashed me a naughty smile. “Unless you don’t want to,” he joked with a wink.

“Well…” I purred, playing along and acting intrigued. We both laughed and I covered my eyes. I heard his pants fall to the ground and it took all my will power not to peek through the cracks of my fingers and admire him in only his boxers…maybe less. Before I could just open my fingers and do it, I heard him pulling on his pajamas. When I knew he was done, I took my hand away from my face and looked at him.

“Ta-da,” he presented with a small smile, standing in there in blue flannel pajama pants and no shirt. They hung low on his waist so that I could see the way his hipbones cuved down to the parts of his body forbidden to my virgin fingers, concealed by the fabric of his clothes. I smiled and scooted over so he could climb in. He grinned and started toward the bed when he stepped on something. He stopped and lifted up my silk nightie. He looked at it for a moment, an animal like glint in his eye, before returnig his gaze to me, and eyebrow cocked. “Why did’t you wear this?” was his question.

“I thought you said I looked cute in these,” I reminded him, gesturing to my pajamas under the sheets. He nodded.

“I do. I think you would look very hot in this,” he argued, shaking the hand the nightie was in. I rolled my eyes.

“Forget it Jake. I’m not wearing it,” I said, shaking my head. He stuck out his bottom lip.

“Pwease?” he whined.

“No,” I said sternly.

“Pweeeease?” he begged, stepping closer to the bed and clasping his hands together. I looked up at him. He had the greatest puppy dog face. His eyes were wide and desperate, his full lips pouted perfectly. “For me…” he added softly, batting his eyelashes. I looked at him skeptically, chewing the inside of my bottom lip. He kept up the act. I sighed and rolled my eyes.

“Oh, FINE!” I resigned, hopping out of bed and grabbing the dress from him. He laughed and watched as I walked to the dresser, pulling out the bra and panties Alice gave me to go with it. Jacob gasped excitedly.

“It comes with UNDERWEAR?!” he asked ecstatically, like a child finding out his train set came with a little village. I rolled my eyes and smirked to myself as I stepped into the dark closet. I slipped off my innocent froggy pajamas and pulled on the seductive Victoria’s Secret nightie after dressing in the lacy black push-up bra and matching panties. I felt the pink silk slide smoothly over my head, settling on my chest which looked quite massive in this bra. I was only a small C-cup or a large B-cup (depending how you looked at it and what bra I bought), but my breasts looked to be D’s or double D’s in this thing. I pulled down the nightie as far as it could go, which wasn’t very far. It just came below the end of my crotch.

Sighing, I slid open the closet and slowly stepped into the room, quite aware of how slutty I must look. Jacob at first had his back turned to me, but looked around when he heard me enter. His eyes widened significantly and he stood up straighter as he scanned my body up and down. I watched him watch me while I walked to the full length mirror across the room. “How do I look?” I asked, standing in front of the mirror, but still looking over my shoulder at Jacob. He let his eyes travel to my backside.

“Yummy,” he admitted, not bashful at all. I sniggered and looked at myself in the mirror.

“Woah,” I couldn’t help but say aloud. I had to admit, Jacob was right: I looked good enough to eat. My breasts were perky and full and looked very cleavage-y in this bra, which you could see the top of in this dress. The hem just covered the front of my crotch, but when I shifted around to look at the back over my shoulder, I noticed that the dress showed the bottom of my panties. The silk, which seemed to shimmer against my rich, brown skin tone, hugged my every curve very tightly. If it was made of spandex, it could have been considered a body suit.

“Nice push-up bra,” Jake commented from the bed. I could see him in the mirror. He was laying under the covers on his side, his head propped up by his hand as he watched me inspect myself.

“I didn’t know I even had this much to push up,” I replied, holding my breasts and moving them up and down. Jake chuckled. I abandoned the mirror and climbed into bed with him. He began to put his arms around me, but I placed my hands on his warm, bare chest. “Jacob,” I began seriously. “There are rules. I know I’m wearing this very provocative nightie, but I expect you to hold me in the same way you held me last night. No groping any part of my body between my hips and knee or my collarbone and the start of my ribs. Capeesh?” He smiled and placed his arm around me, pulling me in close to him.

“Calypso, you are a queen. I promise to always treat you with the utmost respect because you will always deserve the utmost respect. And anyone who ever treats you differently will have me to deal with,” he promised sincerely, holding me against his chest. That was one of the sweetest things I had ever heard. He always managed to do that. Say the simplest things, but with such passion that it made me swoon.

“Even if I am severly tempted to rip your clothes off and have my way with you,” he murmured seductively in my ear. I shivered and goosebumps rose on my skin as he smirked against my ear.

“Good night Jacob,” I whispered, trying to control my wild breathing.

“Good night Calypso. Sweet dreams,” he wished. I fell asleep to the sound of his heart hysterically pounding in his firm chest. Its frantic beat matched mine.
