“Kellan, there is no way in hell I’m playing football with you.”

Selena pushed back the black Ray Bans that were currently on her face and looked up at Kellan, who had a football in his hands and a devilish grin on his face. Today, Selena and Kellan were spending the day at the beach and enjoying each other’s company. Selena was trying to enjoy the warm sun while tanning but Kellan, being the obnoxious and silly self, decided to annoy Selena by bugging her to play football with him. She leaned on her elbows and sighed.

“Kellan, come on leave me alone already!” Selena whined and pushed him away as he tried to wrap his arms around her waist when he lay himself down next to her.

Kellan pouted but then smiled, “Babe, come on it’s just a game! Just one game and I promise I’ll never ask you to play football with me again.”

“Didn’t you say that exact same line in Twilight?” Selena started laughing when she saw Kellan’s face go from pleading to irritation.

“Kel, I don’t even know how to throw a football so what makes you think I can play with you?”

Kellan smirked as if he was thinking something dirty and Selena gawked at him and hit him in the shoulder, “Not in that way, you perv!”

“You so know how to throw a football and I know that you are lying to me. You wouldn’t want to lie to your beloved boyfriend now would you?” After seeing his dimple grin, Selena couldn’t help but smile.

“Alright, alright, I’ll play football with you! Then you have to shut that big mouth of yours!”

“The mouth that you love to smooch on, right?”

Selena grabbed the football and was about to throw at him but Kellan raised his hands up in defense. She got up and brushed the sand off of her and her metallic bikini and turned to face Kellan while crossing her arms, “I really don’t know how to throw a football so you have to show me how.”

Kellan got up as well and made his way over to Selena. Selena grabbed the football and held it in her hands. Kellan placed his warm hands over hers and hovered over her. Selena couldn’t help but blush at his touch. He quickly showed her how to throw the football properly. After a few minutes of comprehending it all, she finally understood and an idea popped in her head.

“I bet I can throw it farther than you.” Selena smirked and tossed the football back and forth in her hands.

Kellan raised his eyebrows and looked at her skeptically, “Even though you just said that you didn’t even know how to throw a football…nice.”

Selena shrugged and smiled innocently, “I don’t know, babe. Isn’t that an advantage for you to win?”

“Okay, let’s say I take this bet. What do I get if I win?”

“Since you’ve been talking about how I just love to smooch on those precious lips of yours, you get a kiss.” Selena grinned.

“That sounds charming!”

“Oh gee, great to know that you’re excited.” Selena said sarcastically, “If I win, you have to carry my fat ass back to the car and buy me food.”

Kellan agreed to the bet immediately and knew that he was going to win.

“If you can throw it past the boardwalk then you win the bet and you got a kiss from me.” Selena told him.

“Are you serious? That’s so far away!” Kellan whined when he saw the huge distance between himself and the football.

“Don’t tell me wittle Kellan’s afraid that his girlfriend will throw the football farther than him!” Selena taunted him and pinched his cheeks like a baby. Kellan whacked her hand away and made a face at her. Selena’s grin only grew bigger.

“At least I know how to throw a football!” Kellan retorted.

Kellan threw the football as hard as he could. Both Kellan and Selena watched as the football landed right on the boardwalk, but was still close to being past it. Kellan gave Selena ‘I -told-you’ face and went to go get the football back. Once he came back with it, Kellan handed the football to Selena. Selena took it into her hands. Kellan waited impatiently and Selena threw it as hard as she could and the way Kellan taught her. Selena watched it as it went past where Kellan’s spot was and landed right past the boardwalk. Kellan groaned and slapped his forehead while Selena started jumping up and down in excitement.

“Oh, guess who has to carry my fat ass back to the car and buy me food? You do!” Selena jeered happily and laughed in Kellan’s face. She started dancing around him and poking him everywhere while still rubbing it in his face. “Never underestimate this girl right here!”

“Alright, alright, you won! Now get on my back before I change my mind.” Kellan said in an irritable tone.

“Aww, babe come on, it’s just a game!” Selena said repeating after him, “Don’t be so grumpy!”

“Can I still have a kiss?” Kellan pouted and started making the puppy dog face. Once Selena stared into his blue eyes, she immediately gave in.

Selena grinned and stood on her tippy-toes so she can reach up to him and planted a kiss on his lips. Kellan smiled into the kiss and wraps his arms around her. After they pull away, Selena climbed onto his back happily.

“Now carry my fat ass to the car and get me some food!”

“What are you thinking about,” the therapist asked as she stared at the young brunette in front of her.

Selena Gomez sat quietly on the couch across from the smiling therapist. Selena averted her gaze to the therapist’s name tag and then stared back at her. Selena rolled her eyes and sighed. All Selena wanted was to get out of this damn room that made her feel small, claustrophobic and itchy. The therapist’s (whose name was Ms. Morgan) smile annoyed Selena so much that all she wanted to do was make that smile go away. She shook her head as she thought how much she wanted to personally destroy both Ashley and Taylor for making her be here in the first place.

“I’m thinking about old memories that have been repressed into my brain but should have been gone a long time ago. Did you like that answer?” Selena turned her gaze away.

Ms. Morgan did not respond but instead wrote in her journal. As Ms. Morgan looked at Selena, she realized that Selena wasn’t like most of the girls that walked through her door and talked about her problems and feelings. She could tell that Selena and her story were different and much more moving that anybody she dealt with.

“Tell me Selena, why do you think you’re here?”

Selena turned her head and stared at Ms. Morgan indifferently, “Because my ex-boyfriend’s best friend and my new best guy friend think I need therapy since all I do is mop around the house, refuse to eat, and occasionally throw sarcastic puns to the both of them.”

“Is that really why you think you are here?” Ms. Morgan persisted.

“Does it really matter what I think? But since you must know, my ex-boyfriend broke up with me after finding out that my first serious boyfriend abused me, my best friend betrayed me, and now I really wish I wasn’t alive so I wouldn’t have to deal with all this stupid pain. Happy?”

“You are feeling hurt, angry, betrayed, and alone. It’s perfectly understandable.” Ms. Morgan simply said.

Selena crossed her arms and tapped her leg impatiently, a bad habit that she recently picked up from Taylor. “Being upset is a specific emotion for those who care.”

Ms. Morgan ignored what she said and continued on with her questioning, “You’re friend Ashley tells me you like to travel a lot. Is it true that you’ve been to many places this summer?”

Selena nodded, “Just trying to escape it all.”

“Are there other ways you try to find to escape it all?” Ms. Morgan looked from Selena to her arms with raised eyebrows. Selena followed her gaze and looked at her hands. Selena tugged at the ends of the black and white striped sweater that she was currently wearing. Although it was about 90 degrees in California today, Selena’s current attire didn’t really explain why she chose to wear it.

“Hurting yourself doesn’t help make the pain go away, Selena.”

Selena crossed her arms across her chest and glared at the therapist, “First of all, how dare you assume that I’m hurting myself? And second of all, if I was that’s none of your damn business.”

Ms. Morgan raised her hands up in defense, “It’s okay, you don’t have to tell me. We have other sessions for that.”

“Unfortunately.”

Ms. Morgan sighed and put her clipboard on top of the coffee table that was in front of her and Selena. She looked at Selena in sympathy and folded her hands. “Listen Selena, I know you’ve been through a lot. I’m here to help you get through all of that. Now I know it will take some time for you to trust me, but I assure you each of these sessions will help you gain your trust back for people.”

Selena looked at her blankly and just nodded, “Yeah.”

A little timer that was placed upon started ringing loudly and Selena immediately rose up from the couch, grabbing her purse, phone, and keys. “Oh, would you look at that? Time’s up! Peace, yo!”

Selena pulled her purse close to her and made her way towards the door. Ms. Morgan only smiled and shook her head as Selena quickly left the room and shut the door behind her. She hoped that Selena would actually listen to her words and open up to her soon the next few sessions.

Once Selena was outside the building and in the familiar surroundings of L.A. she placed her aviator sunglasses on her face and looked around her. A car horn beeped nearby and Selena saw the very familiar face of Ashley Greene. Selena quickly got in the car and Ashley started driving away. Selena slumped in car seat and rested her head against the window. Ashley looked at Selena concerned through her huge sunglasses.

“So, how did it go?” Ashley asked her.

Selena turned to her, “I hate both you and Taylor for making me sit in that room and talk to a fucking therapist.”

“Aww, that’s the spirit! And besides, I’m tired of you mopping around everywhere and always being sarcastic with me; like I don’t get that enough with Kellan.”

When Ashley realized that she said his name, she immediately regretted letting it slip her mouth. Selena cringed a little at the thought of him and hearing his name.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean—“

“I’m fine, Ash.” Selena reassured her.

Ashley looked at her sympathetically and tried to change the subject to lighten the mood, “Oh, by the way, you are going with me to the Masquerade Ball that Teen Vogue is hosting next Friday.”

“Excuse me? No fucking way I’m not going to that.” Selena protested.

Ashley whined, “Sel, come on! Please go! Taylor’s going so you have to go!”

“He is? I thought he would be busy with his new girlfriend of the moment.”

Ashley shook her head and rolled her eyes, “Well, I can’t blame him for having another girlfriend already, but anyways, he agreed to go only if you were going, so you are going and that’s final!”

Selena groaned and hit her head against the window. She gave up on convincing Ashley otherwise; once Ashley said something, there was no way to convince her otherwise. Selena cursed profoundly inside her head as she sat in the car. She didn’t want to go to the masquerade ball, she hated her life, and she still wasn’t over Kellan. Selena was leading a great life at the moment.

Ashley Greene entered the New Moon set quietly and with a serious look on her face. She pushed back her huge sunglasses and looked around the set for a familiar face. Once she found who she was looking for, she made her way towards her best friend, Kellan Lutz, who was at the food table eating numerous amounts of food. Ashley walked over to him and started looking at the different foods in front of her.

“Hey, how are you doing today?”

“Great Ashley. Walking on sunshine, thanks for asking.” Kellan replied sarcastically. He didn’t even make eye contact with her; he only remained looking at his food and eating it.

“Kellan, why do you have to be such a jerk sometimes? I was asking you a simple question.” Ashley said.

“Why do you have to act like a whiny bitch all the time?” Kellan retorted back.

Ashley stared at him in shock and looked at who she thought was her ‘best friend’. Instead of getting into an argument with him (which was usually most of the time), Ashley simply shook it off and changed the subject like she always did. Kellan’s temper wasn’t something that she wanted to see or deal with at the moment.

“Are you going to the Masquerade Ball that Teen Vogue is hosting next Friday?”

Kellan rolled his eyes and shrugged, “Not really sure if I want to go or if I care enough about it to actually go.”

“What? Kel, you have to go! You promised me that you would go!”

Kellan sighed and pursed his lips, “Wow, fascinating. Still not good enough to make me go.”

Ashley huffed in annoyance and crossed her arms. She glared at Kellan and all he did was stare at her back without any concern. “Alright if you do decide to go, are you bringing...her?”

“She does have a name, you know; just like you, Kristen, Nikki, and I.”

Ashley rolled her eyes and muttered, “Her name’s more like The Wicked Bitch of the West.”

Kellan sighed heavily and his patience level was slowly decreasing each time Ashley spoke. “And you think your little boyfriend is perfect? Mr. douche Joe Jonas who likes to score girls that are way out of his league?”

“Well, excuse me for not dating someone you approve of. That makes two of us!”

Before Kellan could respond to her, he was interrupted by a high pitched voice that called out his name from a distance. Kellan knew exactly who that voice belonged to and he cursed inwardly. Ashley cringed at the voice and dreading the moment she had to see her awful face.

AnnaLynne McCord wrapped her arm around Kellan and placed a kiss on his cheek happily. Kellan smiled dryly and gave her a side hug. “Baby, it’s so good to see you! I missed you so much!”

“I…uh missed you, too, babe.” Kellan responded, scratching his neck awkwardly.

“Ashley, dear, it’s so good to see you!” AnnaLynne gushed as she stepped forward and placed a kiss on both of Ashley’s cheeks. Ashley placed a fake smile on her perfect lips and pretended to be happy to see her.

“It’s so good to see you, too! What on earth are you doing here?” Each of Ashley’s words were clearly fake and she stared at AnnaLynne cheerfully. Kellan eyed her and Ashley only smiled at him. Ashley was a frenemy to AnnaLynne; but AnnaLynne didn’t have to know that.

“Well, I just came to see if my teddy-bear wanted to go out for lunch with me. Sounds good, baby?” AnnaLynne looked up at Kellan and Kellan half-smiled. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Ashley smirking and trying her hardest not to laugh.

“Of course I will love to have lunch with you. I just…have to finish a scene and then we can be off.” Kellan lied.

A light-bulb went off in Ashley’s head and a mischievous smile was placed on her lips. She thought of a way to get Kellan to go to the masquerade ball. Ashley knew Kellan was going to kill her after AnnaLynne left but it was either do or die.

“Oh, AnnaLynne I forgot to tell you! Teen Vogue is hosting a masquerade ball next Friday and I really think you and Kellan should go as a couple. Don’t you think?”

AnnaLynne’s fact lit up and she giggled excitedly. Kellan’s eyes went huge and then he glared at Ashley. Ashley stared back only with a smile on her face.

“Of course I wanna go!”

“Well, you see the thing is, little Kellan over here doesn’t want to go. But you can convince him to go, right?” Ashley raised an eyebrow and smiled sweetly at her.

AnnaLynne waved a hand and rolled her eyes. She patted Kellan on the chest, “Of course I can convince him to go.”

Ashley clapped her hands together feeling accomplished, “Well, it’s settled then! I’ll see you both next Friday.”

“Babe, why don’t you go shopping some more while I finish this scene and then we can meet up for lunch? Here, take my credit card.” Kellan pulled out his wallet and handed her his credit card. AnnaLynne happily agreed and gave him a long kiss on the lips. Kellan kissed back and smiled after she pulled away. Ashley looked like she was about to barf after seeing that. AnnaLynne gave Ashley a hug and then left without another word. Once she was gone, Kellan turned to Ashley and glared at her.

“I hate you. I seriously do.”
“Of course you do. But too bad I can care less!” Ashley retorted and grabbed a strawberry off the table and put it in her mouth.

“Just for that, I’m not hanging out with you tonight as we planned.”

“What?” Ashley sighed annoyed at the fact that he was being a complete asshole, “You are such a douche!”

Kellan smiled his infamous dimpled grin and shrugged as if nothing, “That’s what they say. I’m going to hang out with Zac tonight instead.”

Ashley looked at him puzzled, “Zac…Zac Efron? Why?”

“Yes, Zac Efron and I don’t know…he’s my new buddy.”

Ashley looked at Kellan as if she wanted to choke him. Ashley controlled her dark thoughts and instead of cussing him out, she grabbed a drink from the table and stood in front of him, “When you find my old best friend, tell him to give me a call because frankly all I want to do to this new version of you is rip your head off just like I did to James in Twilight.”

Ashley glanced at Kellan one last time before flipping her hair over her shoulders and completely ignoring him. Kellan only smiled and called after her and felt satisfied, “Well, let me know if you find him!”
