My New Dad Hunts Ghost

Nightmares

Tracy's POV

The drive home was silent as always. A million thoughts ran through my head; how am I supposed to know if this guy is real or not? Is he really that nice all the time? Why didn't he just adopt a baby? Does he have and who is his girlfriend? I had no answers to the questions and I wasn't about to let my guard down until I did.

"So what did you think of the guys?"

"They were cool and seemed really nice."

"Yeah they are," he smiled. I left it at that.

Zak's POV

We got inside and I went to the kitchen to put the pizza away. What to do now? It's only 9.

"Hey I never gave you the tour did I?"

"Nope," she answered.

"Well follow me."

Tracy's POV

He started walking down the hall stopping at the bathroom. The whole house was painted white simple enough, but the walls were lined with Gothic pictures, the kind you'd expect to be in Dracula's castle. He stopped in front of the bathroom.

"Here's your bathroom." It was painted the same color purple as my room. There was a full length mirror on one wall along with the regular one above a plain white sink with an old style knob that matched the knobs in the bathtub. It was a normal size tub/shower with a plain light purple shower curtain.

"Wait did you say my bathroom?"

"Yep," he smiled. "I have a bathroom in my room so this is all yours."

"Oh my God," I gasped. This is seriously the best gift a father can give his daughter, her own bathroom! He chuckled at my reaction.

"Well let’s move on," he walked down the hall again stopping in front of another room. "This is my bedroom." We went inside and the walls were painted a dark gray, more Gothic artwork lined the walls and in the center was a big king size bed with black covers. On the other side of the bed had a big flat screen TV on the wall.

"And in here is my bathroom." It had a regular standing shower no tub and it like a guy’s bathroom. colognes and shaving creams on the sink along with hair gels and combs. "If the tour will follow me this way I'll show you the tech room."

Tech room? We walked across the hall to a room painted black. There were three computers on each side of the walls. The screens were pretty big.

"I use this room to look over evidence I capture at the places we investigate if I don't want to stay at headquarters."

"Cool,"

"You think that's cool you should see some of the evidence we captured."

"Maybe one day I will." I smiled.

"Moving on!" He walked to my room. "Here's your lovely room!" He exclaimed as he opened the door. He looked around the room at my pictures. I watched him carefully. "Hey the mirror in this picture looks like the one we got."

"I know that's why I got it, my mom used to have one just like it." He smiled softly.

"You look just like her." I looked down; I didn't know how I felt about that.

"Thank you," I whispered. He looked over at the other pictures.

"Is this... um-"

"My birth father, yeah." For some reason I added "birth" in there I guess I wanted to make him feel better.

"You have his eyes." I smiled.

"Thank you."

"Anyway I want to show you the backyard." I followed him outside. There was a porch with table and chairs but the best part was the pool, lined with pool chairs and everything. The rest of the backyard was grass.

"You have a pool?" I asked in shock.

"Yeah," he smiled.

Zak's POV

"Want to watch a movie?"

"Sure," she answered.

"What do you want to watch?"

"Something scary would be nice." Oh thank God she likes horror films or else we couldn't watch TV together.

"Sweet, Jason or Freddy?"

"How about Jason and Freddy?" She smirked.

"Even better."

Tracy's POV

Halfway through the movie I felt my eyes get droopy.

"Tracy!" I ran into the closet, he'll find me but at least it'll buy me some time. I put my hand over my ears and shut my eyes. Please don't find me, I repeated over and over to myself even though I knew he would.

The closet door swung open and he grabbed onto my wrist. I tried to fight back but he yanked me up. Tears flooded my eyes as he dragged me into the hall. The carpet burned my skin as we got further and further down.

"I told you not to burn the dinner again!" Mark yelled violently.

"I know I'm sorry!" I sobbed.

He stopped and yanked my arm until I sat up straight; once I was he slapped me across the face. My hand went up to touch my now hot cheek as a sob escaped my lips. Mark grabbed my arm hard and pulled me up until I was standing. Once I was his fist hit me hard in the stomach. I yelped in pain as I fell to my knees. Once on the ground he pushed me over and started to kick me in my stomach. He kicked until I coughed up blood. I held my hands up and pleaded with him to stop.

"Tracy! Tracy! Wake up!"

"No please stop!" I sobbed as I pushed him away from me. Tears blurred my vision but when it cleared I realized it was Zak standing in front of me. It was just another nightmare.

Zak's POV

Halfway through the movie I heard crying, no more like sobbing.

"No please stop!" I heard Tracy yell.

What the hell? I got up and walked towards her only to notice the sobs getting louder, she started to cough.

"Please, please stop! I'm sorry!" She sobbed.

"Tracy! Tracy! Wake up!" I shook her shoulders. She pushed me away when she woke. For a second she looked confused then she seemed relieved.

"What happened?" She shook her head as she started to sit up.

"Just a nightmare, that's all."

"That's all?" I scoffed it sounding like you were being murdered.

"It was nothing, alright?" There was something she wasn't telling me and it bothered me. I'm supposed to be her father; she's supposed to come to me for help.

"Tracy please, you know you can tell me anything right?" I pleaded.

"Yeah but this is nothing." She repeated before she got up and walked to her room. Whatever that nightmares was about, I know her cries will give me nightmares. I never heard someone sob so much in my life.
