Still in Love With You

It took a long time, but I finally was about to recover Mandy's AIM. I IMed her asking for Kevin's screen name, and of course she said no. I told her who I was; she didn't believe me. I asked if she needed proof, and invited her to an iChat. She finally budged, and gave it to me. I said thanks and checked if he was on. Suddenly, all the blood rushed to my head. What would I say? What if I messed up and said something completely stupid?

Its About Audrey: um…hey

I knew it sounded stupid. He'd probably think I was a freak.

Wow Kevin J: Who is this?
Its About Audrey: …Audrey
Wow Kevin J: oh

Now what do I say? There was an awkward pause.

Wow Kevin J: I'm sorry
Its About Audrey: okay

Its About Audrey: Mandy
Wow Kevin J: of course

Pause.

Its About Audrey: I was going to say something
Wow Kevin J: what

Shit.

Its About Audrey: I forgot
Wow Kevin J: just tell me

I closed my eyes, typed it, and pressed enter.

Its About Audrey: I think I'm in love with you

Silence. It was so quiet yet so deafening. I held my breath, praying he would say something.

Wow Kevin J: you think?

Shit, I worded it wrong – now what?

Its About Audrey: no I know
Wow Kevin J: this isn't good
Its About Audrey: oh
Wow Kevin J: i live too far away.

A smile covered my face, I let out a happy scream, and started dancing in front of my computer.

Wow Kevin J: do you still live in Illinois?
Its About Audrey: yeah :/
Wow Kevin J: I'm going up there with my family because my uncle lives near you
Its About Audrey: really?
Wow Kevin J: yeah and I can drive there and I dunno
Its About Audrey: awesome.
Wow Kevin J: we're going next week, do you think you can go up to Chicago for a few nights
Its About Audrey: I'll ask my mom for a ride since she has her parents up there.
Wow Kevin J: could you stay at the Marriott suites? That’s where we always stay
Its About Audrey: that's where we stay too. I guess I'll see you next week. I gotta go
Wow Kevin J: okay bye

I signed off, leaping off my bed to go ask my mom.
