Tanner Foust… cannot have down time at all. I wanted to have a cuddle day with him, but nope. He made plans for us. Thanks for informing me, Foust! But I’m pretty sure it has to do with cars. We have another drifting event coming up and this is always crunch time to get the cars ready.
So, here I sit in Tanner’s car, on our way to, what I’m assuming is a drifting track. He hasn’t told me though and I haven’t been bugging him about it, which is totally out of character for me, but he never commented.
“So… you know Josh and Kirstie got back together,” he said after a silence came over us.
“Sadly,” I replied while sighing.
“I kind of… invited them to the track today,” he said, flashing me a little smile.
“Why?” I asked, shooting him a look.
“Just because Josh isn’t one of your most favorite people right now, doesn’t mean your sister doesn’t love him,” he said once he shut the car off.
I just sighed again and climbed out of his car to go to my trailer to get changed for the day. Josh and Kirstie was there… of course sucking each other’s faces off! I just walked past them to get all geared up. Once I came out… they were suited up too.
“Tanner said you guys were taking us around the track,” Kirstie said excitedly.
She’s never this excited about cars! What did Tanner tell her? He appeared in my vision and sent me a smile… I swear if he weren’t so cute…
“I think the Scion is calling Kirstie’s name,” He smirked.
“Why am I suddenly scared?” she asked while looking from me to Tanner.
“Well, he hasn’t won two championships back to back for nothing,” I had to boast about my man.What’s Joshie done on his dirt bike in the past two years?
“And on my way to a third,” he smirked at me.
“Not if I can help it,” I snickered while crossing my arms over my chest.
“Come on, Kirsite. We’ll get you strapped in… Ky, take it easy on Josh. It’s his first time in a car with you. Don’t make him regret it,” Tanner teased, but I knew he was serious.
Whatever. If he’s going to break my sister’s heart and then get back together with her and then act like nothing happened at all, I’m not going to ‘take it easy’ on him. Nu uh… I’m testing my drift car. I have to go one hundred and ten percent. I’m not showing him any mercy.
“Get in,” I told him as I plopped myself in the seat.
He did and put his helmet on once I did. I pulled my gloves on and brought the car to live. Love the sound of a V8 in the morning. I glanced over at Josh momentarily to see a nervous look come over his eyes.Be afraid, Joshie. Be very afraid.
I pulled my car up next to Tanner’s. I looked over at that gorgeous boy and couldn’t help but smile even though he couldn’t see it with my helmet on. He gave me a thumbs up before he took off with me right behind him.
On this run, I made sure to get as close to his car as possible. Josh let out a few yelps when we got close to him. I tried so hard not to laugh. He had no idea what was coming in the next run. This time, I wouldn’t be sliding up next to Tanner. The wall would be my challenge. I got so close to that thing. Oh my gosh, it was awesome! I wish this was one of my competition runs, but it was just testing… with Josh Grant weighing me down in the passenger seat.
“I so thought you were going to smack the wall going into that last corner,” Tanner grinned once were both out of our cars.
“But I didn’t,” I smirked while walking up to him.
“Why do I have a feeling that I taught you everything you know?” he had to smirk back.
“You’re so sexy when you’re cocky,” I couldn’t help but snicker before I clutched his suit in my hands to pull him down for a kiss.
His lips were curled up into a smile, but he quickly kissed back. Yum. Love my sexy drifting man. But Kirstie’s voice tore me from Tanner. She wasn’t talking to us, but her words still bothered me.
“Josh, are you ok?” she asked, her voice a little off in the distance.
He didn’t say anything. I turned around to see him… shaking… a lot. I didn’t scare him that much did I? All those hard feelings for him that I had, left me. I went running over to him.
“What’s wrong?” I asked, looking from him to Kirstie.
“I don’t know,” he replied, with his hands still shaking as he brought them up to run through his hair.
Once I saw that, I let out a sigh of relief. He rides dirt bikes! He should know when an adrenaline rush is coming over him.
“Come on,” I told him while tugging on his arm to sit him in a chair. “Babe, can you get him some water?” I asked Tanner as I knelt down in front of Josh.
Tanner nodded his head before he hurried to get into the cooler. Once he came back, he handed Josh the water bottle. He drank it, but still in a shaky way.
“Josh, just try and breathe slowly. You’ll be fine,” I told him while rubbing his knee.
It took him a few minutes to get rid of his shakes, but he was fine. Thank god.I didn’t want to be the cause of death for my sister’s boyfriend! Once I stood back up, I let my own sigh out and went into my trailer to pop open a can of Monster that I so desperately needed. I pulled up a seat, hoping Tanner would come in here with me, but… Kirstie did… Oh joy!
“What’s up?” I asked as she sat down next to me.
“You like Joshie again don’t you, Kylee?” she replied with the cheesiest grin on her face.It reminded me of that scene from Spongebob where he’s asking Squidward if he liked Kraby Patties.
“No…” I shot back quickly.
“Aw, Ky,” she grinned before reaching over to pull me into a bone crushing hug. “It’s ok. You can like him. I actually want you to like him, but… as long as you like your Tanny more,” she went on to tease.
“Ew, I could never like anyone more than my Tanny!” I shouted before pushing myself to my feet.
As I looked back at her with my hands on my hips, I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist, making me let out a yelp of surprise. But once that person rested their chin on my shoulder, I knew exactly who it was.
“And I could never like anyone more than my Kylee,” Tanner said before leaving a soft kiss on my cheek.
Even though Josh walked in and sat next to Kirstie, I still turned around and smiled at my man, burying my face into his chest. Ok, so… maybe he’s not my most favorite person, but… Josh is… ok. He just better not mess up again. He hasn’t experienced the whole wrath of Kylee Jacobson. And for his sake, I hope he never has to.
