The Jock and the Nerd

The Jock and The Nerd Chapter 4

I walked over to the field hockey field and looked for Morgan.
I found her easily and headed down to the field.
Their coach had them running across the field a couple of times before they were dismissed.
“Freshman! Get the water,” she yelled grabbing her things and walked in my direction.
“Hey girl,” Will said jogging passed me.
She smiled and ran over to him.
I watched them embrace and kiss each other.
“Ready?” he asked.
“Oh, wait,” she sighed looking at me, finally. “I have to do a stupid project with Randy,”
“Randy? The nerd herd leader?”
“Yeah, for English, I’ll call you later baby,” she said kissing him.
“Fine, call you later,” he said walking away.
She rolled her eyes and looked at me. “What?”
“Nothing,” I said walking over to her with my hands in my pockets.
“Come on then,” Morgan said walking to her bike.
“Do you have a car or what?” she asked once we reached her bike.
“I have a car,” I said.
“Good. You won’t mind caring my things in your car will you?”
“Not a problem,” I said taking her things.
“Great, I’ll wait for you by the stop sign, you can follow me from there,”
“Deal,” I said walking to my car.
Once I saw my car I unlocked it and hurried over.
I put her things in the trunk and hopped in.
I started up my car and speed over to the stop sign where Morgan was waiting for me.
I beeped my horn a little and she speed off.
I followed behind Morgan until we reached her house.
I climbed out of my car and opened the trunk for her.
“Thanks,” she said grabbing her things.
“Anytime,” I smiled following Morgan to her front door
“Make yourself at home,” she said walking inside.
“Morgan!” a little voice called.
“What?” she yelled back.
“What’s for dinner?” a little boy said skipping down stairs.
“You if you don’t go back upstairs,”
“Fine,” he said sadly.
“Sorry about him,” she said grabbing two waters. She threw me one and I barely caught it.
“Your brother?” I asked.
“No my son,” she said sarcastically.
“What’s his name?”
“Ben. I thought he was still with his sitter,”
“Oh,” I said joining her on the sofa.
“Okay, so during lunch I circled all the things on your list that I like. You should do the same,”
“Two great minds think alike. Already done,” I took out her list and handed it to her.
She gave me mine. “Okay, I’ll get a poster board and some markers”.
I watched her run up stairs and disappear into a room.
I looked around her house a little.
Morgan did have a big house; it was rather small and comfortable.
I liked it.
The front yard looked like someone spent a lot of time on it, as did the rest of the house.
Morgan came down stairs with our supplies.
“I say we do a Venn diagram,” she said.
“Works for me,” I said clearing off her coffee table.
“I can’t draw circles for shit though,” she said kneeling next to me.
“I’ll do it,” I said taking her pencil.
I slowly drew one big circle and another one over lapping it.
“Nice. I didn’t know you’re an artist,”
“How did you know I’m an artist?”
“Dude, you drew two prefect circles,” she exclaimed.
I looked away trying to hind my blush. “Um, do you want to put your uncircled things in that circle and I’ll put mine in this one,” I said retracing the circles with a black marker.
“Okay,” she said picking up a green marker.
I picked up an orange one and started on my list.
About a half an hour of working in silence we were finally done.
“Looks good,” she said.
“We’re a pretty good time,”
She looked at me and smiled slightly. “I guess we are. Ben!” she called.
“Yes?”
“What do you want for dinner?”
“Pizza!”
“Of course,” Morgan muttered standing up. “So, I’ll see you at school”.
“Yeah,” I said standing up.
“I’ll bring this to school tomorrow. I’m taking the car instead,”
“Okay,” I said getting my things. “Where are your parents?” I asked.
“Work,” she said walking over to the door.
I followed her outside. “See you tomorrow,” I said.
“Yea,” she said walking back inside.
I smiled and got into the car.

[Morgan’s Point Of View]

Once I locked the door I called the pizza place and ordered a large cheese pizza.
I went to my room and started to do my homework while hanging out on Facebook.
My phone rang and I answered it.
“William!”
“Morgan!” Will said laughing.
“What’s up?” I asked.
“Homework. Is the dork gone?”
“Yea, he left an hour or so ago,”
“Good, I don’t like him around you,”
“Why, he’s nothing to me,”
“I still don’t trust him,”
“Meet me outside,”
“Morgan…”
“Now,” I said hanging up.
Whenever we needed to talk we would meet each other by a near by lake.
It’s the midpoint between our houses.
I quickly got ready and grabbed my car keys.
“Ben, get in the car!” I said hurrying down stairs.
“Pizza?”
“Let’s go,”
He grabbed his shoes and ran outside.
I locked up the house and opened the car for him.
“In the back,” I told him.
Ben has a way of sneaking into the front.
“Fine,” he said as I got in.
I made sure he was buckled up before I sped out of the driveway.
Fifteen minutes later I reached the lake just as Will got out of the car.
“You need to trust me. I love you and no one is going to change that. I’ve told you this before. Randy, is nothing to me. Nothing. You are my everything. My life is so amazing right now and majority of the reason is because you’re in it. Think about it, Will, out of all the guys, I choose you. I love you and I mean that,” I said holding back tears.
“You don’t see it. The way he looks at you, Morgan. Everyone does. He stares at you the way, I look at you, everyday. I hate it and I can’t help but think that he’s going to steal you away from me,”
“The only one that’s going to break us apart is us. We love each other and that’s that. If I have to say this again than maybe we should take a break,” I said wiping my eyes.
“No! That can’t happen. I trust you, just not him,”
“Than your not trusting me,”
“I do trust you,”
“Prove it,” I said.
Will walked over to me and held me in his arms for a while before I kissed him.
“Now, I have a pizza to eat,”
He laughed. “I would join you but I have to babysit,”
“Damn,”
Will kissed me and led me to my car.
“Bye,”
“See you tomorrow bright and early,” I said.
He smiled before looking at Ben. “Hey little man,”
“Hi!” Ben said smiling.
I smiled and kissed Will before getting into the car.
