The Captain of the Football Team

The Captain Of The Football Team Chapter 14

“You have to go or else he’ll be right,” Janet said as I paced around.
“I know, but, I don’t want to see him.”
“I said you had to go, I didn’t say make out with him.”
I rolled my eyes. “He-”
“Don’t point fingers.”
“Fine, fine, I’ll go!”
“Good and hock up with that Travis guy. He’s totally into you.”
“Travis? No he’s not…is he?”
“Yes! I see the way he looks at you.”
I smiled. “That makes me feel pretty,” I said sitting next to her.
Janet rolled her eyes. “You should ask him to dance with you.”
“I can’t date teammates. Coach already thinks I’m a whore.”
“Whatever! It’s just one dance.”
“Fine! I’ll talk to him tomorrow after practice.”
“When you’re all sweaty?”
“I don’t see him at any time.”
“The guys always have football jocks over. He’ll show up.”
I sighed and got up and we joined the guys in the kitchen.
“Do you guys want to make dinner?” Joel asked.
“Nope,” we said together.
“Well, looks like we’re eating out,” Liam said.
“You guys should get the gang together,” Janet said.
“Good idea,” Liam said taking out his cell phone. He walked into the other room once Chris answered.
I gave Janet a look as she walked over to Joel. I knew what she was up too.
“You should get ready,” she said smiling at me, before turning her attention to Joel.
I sighed and headed back into my room. I looked through my closet for a while before deicing on a simple skirt and tee shirt. I quickly fixed up my makeup and hair before joining everyone into the living room.
“Finally, let’s go,” Joel said taking Janet’s hand and walking out the door.
“You look all dolled up,” Liam said.
“What? I can’t look nice every now and then?”
“I’m just making an observation,” he said locking the dorm door.
“Where are we eating?”
“A campus hotspot,” he said leading the way.
The four of us walked three blocks to a near by restaurant. Liam gave the waitress his name and she sat us at a huge table.
The four of us sat down and waited for the others. Chris and Travis came shortly after and Janet made sure Travis sat next to me. We gave our waitress our order and we chatted for the rest of the time. Travis and I kept to ourselves mostly.
“The party started without me?”
We looked over and there was Jake, with a smile on his. He took a seat next to Joel and smiled at me. “How’s it going, sweetie?”
I rolled my eyes and turned my attention back to Travis.
This simple night with Travis was going to be a lot harder than I thought.
