Chapter 4
And so that's officially where my normal life ended. No more fairy tales. Say hello to reality. Reality TV that is.
Each of us entered different rooms at the mayor's house. Time to say goodbye to everything and everyone I have ever know.
My mom enters the room with my dog Wyatt. I'm just about ready to burst to tears. "We're all gonna die!" I say through large sobs and gasps of air.
"No you aren't Michaela!" my mom yells at me "Your going to get out of that arena if you think so or not! Please, just stick with Zander and Sari." she says as she starts to cry too. "They're the best chance you have."
The last thing my mom says to me is a line from one of my favorite songs; "I'm not
going cause' I've been waiting for a miracle, and I'm not leaving. I won't let you, let you give up on a miracle cause' it might save you."
And like that the Peacekeepers took her. I knew I would never see her again. For the rest of the day I played those lyrics over and over in my head. Those lyrics would be the only things keeping me alive.
