My Boyfriend Is My Step-Brother

Mom made dinner that night and we all eat together as one big family. Dinner wasn’t that awkward, but we’re all still getting used to each other. Dinner was another, get to know each other thing. But it was fun and I got to sit next to Kendall.
Shane and Mary washed up the dishes and Kendall and I hung out in the living room and watched a movie.
“Crashing the date!” Shane said sitting on the sofa in between Kendall and me.
I gave Kendall a look and he nodded.
“Shane, leave. We were trying to enjoy ourselves,”
“The bedrooms upstairs,” he said resting his foot on the coffee table.
“Shane!”
“Fine, fine. I’ll go,” he said getting up.
Kendall and I moved closer together. “Sorry about him,” he said putting his arm around me.
“It’s cool. I’m sure there’s more where that came from,” I said.
Kendall kissed me before returning his attention to the movie.
I smiled at him and continued to watch the movie.

The next day was band practice at ten in the morning.
I was up late last night hanging out with Kendall and writing new songs.
We practiced our old ones and I played one of the new ones.
“I like it,” James said. Dylan and Kelly agreed.
“I think it needs a little work but it’s pretty good, sis,” Mary said.
“They’re will be plenty of solos for you,”
“Awesome!” she said grinning.
I rolled my eyes. “So, we’ll work on it later?”
“Yeah! It’s pizza time!” Frankie said as the others cheered.
I laughed and grabbed my car keys.
“I’ll drive,” I said following my band members out of the basement.
“Hey,” Kendall said smiling at me.
“Hey,” I said.
“Where are you guys going?”
“Lunch!” Dylan said.
“Pizza!” Frankie yelled again.
“Band members only,” Mary said eyeing me.
“Sorry,” I said blowing him a quick kiss.
He nodded and we left my house.

Kendall and I were in the living room watching T.V and eating pop corn.
“Is this all our relationship is going to be? Us watching T.V and never going out,”
“We can go out,” I said.
“Then let’s go out.”
“Only into the city, where no one knows us,” I said.
“Deal, tomorrow we’ll go out and walk around or something”.
I smiled. “Deal,” I said leaning over to kiss him.
“No kiss,” his father said as he walked passed.
We pulled away and sighed.
He looked at me and rolled his eyes. I giggled and quickly kissed him.
“Dinners ready!” my mom called and Mary and Shane hurried down stairs.
Kendall and I held hands walking over to the dinner table.
“So!” my mom said placing the dinner. “John and I were talking and we deiced that we should all go on a family vacation!”
“What about that band?” Mary asked.
“I’m sure they’ll understand,” our mom said sitting down.
“If we go can Kendall and I just be dating and not siblings?” I asked.
My mom and John exchanged looks before nodding. “I don’t see why not,” he said.
“Well, can we take our band with us?” Mary asked.
“No, this is a family vacation,” mom said.
She sighed. “Where are we going?”
“I was thinking California,” John said. “The boys and I didn’t live far from there and I did promise them we would go back”.
Mary and I smiled at each other.
“Sounds like a plan” we said smiling.
