Katastrophic Breakdown

Scott and I stood on the edge of the stage, out of sight of the audience. Scott leaned over next to my head and was getting ready to say something until the lead singer for S.S ( as their fans like to call them) spoke to the crowd. "Hey, I don't need to introduce our band name cuz it was already announced. But I will introduce the band members. On guitar we have Riley Cooper. On Bass we have Matt Carter. On drums is Lennon Torrez." We thought they were done until the drummer ran up to a mic "And give it up for the lead singer, Jayson Reno." As soon as the drummer ran back to his drumset, Scott asked "How well do you think they'll play?" Just then the doors burst open and a bunch of people from our school rushed in, wearing shirts that said various things such as "S.S took my virginity away all at once" or "Suicidal Silence is what takes place after K.B really does breakdown."

"Those shirts were newly made." said Matt matter of factly. I turned around and scowled at him " Thank you Captain obvious" I said and turned back around to watch Suicidal Silence wait for the fans to take their seats. I watched the fans take their seats and then looked at the other end of the stage where Padge was talking to the principal. He looked extremely awkward when he was leaning away from someone yelling in his ear, I guess the principal isnt used to it.

I felt a tug on my shirt and turned to see Annabeth dragging me over to everyone else in the band. " I thought only the contestants were supposed to be the only ones here?" asked Reese "Well apparently its that way for everyone except Suicidal Silence." I said and turned back towards the stage just in time to catch a cocky smirk from Riley Cooper and Jayson Reno as they were pretending to work on an amp that was connected to Riley's Guitar. "thats how its going to be then.I see" I thought as I walked to the edge of the stage again. Annabeth joined me as Jayson told Lennon to count off. " This song is called Falling Apart". as soon as Jayson said the song name the guitar blasted out with the most "rough around the edges" riff I have heard since the early music of Avenged Sevenfold. As the Riff is being played, Riley walks up to his mic as Jayson grabs his.

The Auditorium erupts into clapping and whistles and "YEAHHH"'s and encores. It wasn't until everyone started questioning what was going on, did i realize that all the members of Suicidal Silence were all wearing cocky smiles at my bandmates and I making a "Bring it on" motion with their fingers. It also wasn't until I noticed the "Ohhhhhh"'s that i realized that this was being filmed on Fuse T.V. and being shown on the big screen behind S.S. Matt and Reese just walked away tugging Scott and Annabeth with them. I smiled slyly and grabbed a mic that was on backstage, walked onstage and poked Jayson in the chest "It's on" I said and dropped the mic at his feet and walked away. I knew i'd get yelled at later by the principal, but i'd know that Bullet would have my back and so would my bandmates.
After everyone played their song, school was over and everyone except the people who came in to the auditorium to stay and watch after school and everyone who was there from first hour were the only ones in the school. I was watching the last band perform when the principal finally caught up to me "Mr. Riggs, I want to see you in my office after this is overwith." "Fine" I said and started walking to his office.

When i walked in the room, I was surprised to see both my band, and Suicidal Silence there..sitting on the opposite side of the room but both there...also glaring at eachother. I went over to my bandmates and sat down by them just as the principal walked in with My dad and Padge. "Okay, so first of all..great performance by both of you." Me and Jayson looked at eachother with confused looks. "However," I knew he wasn't done "because of your show earlier today, on national t.v., we're going to-" "Please don't kick us out of the show Mr. Pung" Jayson whined, I swear i saw tears in his eyes. " We need this chance to get us known, otherwise we'll just be another locally known band, just like these guys" He pointed directly at me with a look of disgust on his face. I took pleasure in the fact that I disgusted him "I'm not going to disqualify anyone, but i'm putting your bands on probation. No live shows at any venue until the talent show is over." I held back a laugh. I looked at Matt and smiled. Mr. Pung obviously didn't read the rules of the talent show cuz its clearly stated in the rule book that no band can perform anywhere except where the talent show is as long as they are still contestants in it. Jayson, apparently, made the same conclusion i did and just smiled. "Is that agreeable Mr. Reno? Mr. Riggs?" "Yea" we said together and got up to leave

"One more thing"
I turned around to face my dad who had just spoken "Yes?" I asked. "When your performing, don't try and spot eachother in the audience or backstage. We'll mark you down if your not looking at the audience or at your bandmates." I smiled and left without saying anything and my bandmates right behind me. " Well that couldn't have gone any better" Said Matt chuckiling on his way back to his locker. I smiled as I grabbed my stuff and headed for the door. " See you guys tommarow" I yelled as i walked out the doors and headed home.
