Change My Life

02

"No, I'm a secretary." I smiled.
"Really? Whose?" he asked.
"Ethan Gray." I said. He laughed.
"of course you are." We stood up then. "I'm Will Turner, I'm also a lawyer, but at a different firm." He said.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Aeryn Morgan." I smiled. We shook hands.
"You look really familiar." He said, looking over me again.
"I was thinking the same about you," I laughed softly.
"Are you new to town?" he asked.
"I am, I bought my first house, it's like a block from the beach." I smiled.
"You know, I think you moved in across from me." He said, crossing his arms over his chest.
"No way. Did you go for a jog this morning?" I asked.
"Yea." He smiled.
"You do live across from me!" I laughed.
"Well, hello neighbor." He said.
"You have a beautiful home." I said.
"Oh, please, there's nothing special about it." He laughed a little.
"it's nicer then mine." I smiled. A throat was cleared behind me. We looked back to see Ethan.
"Will! Good to see you made it!" Ethan said, walking over.
"I wouldn't miss an appointment." Will said, shaking hands with Ethan.
"I know." Ethan smiled.
"Well, it was great meeting you." Will said to me.
"You too. See you around." I smiled. I left then and started my drive home. I got there around 7:15. I opened the door, and walked in. I made sure to lock it behind me. "Ael!" I called out worriedly.
"Yes?" she popped out from behind the doorway to the kitchen.
"Did you have a good day?" I asked.
"Eh, it was boring." She sighed. I nodded.
"Well, as long as everything went okay." I smiled.
"Yea, it was fine. How was your day?" I asked.
"Good. School was easy as always, and I met our neighbor across the street." I told her.
"Really? Where?" she asked.
"At the law firm. He's a lawyer at another law firm." I said.
"He?! Is he hot?!" she asked.
"He's very good looking. And so is my boss." I smirked.
"Reeally? Give me names!" she sang.
"Okay, well I'm Ethan Gray's secretary, and he is really good looking. And then Will Turner comes in as I'm leaving and he's our neighbor! If nothing else, I'll have a great view everyday here." I laughed and so did Aelyn.
"Nice. Hopefully I can find a boyfriend at school." She sighed.
"Hopefully not." I grumbled. Aelyn made a yelping noise which made me laugh again.
"I'm old enough!" she whined.
"Sure, as long as you stick with a boy your age." I said. She smiled.
"I can do that." She said.
"Good, so what do you want for dinner?" I asked.
"Whatever," she shrugged. I rolled my eyes and got up. I made us a quick dinner, which we ate on the couch while watching TV. After dinner, while cleaning dishes, the doorbell rang. I went to the door, and Aelyn followed. I looked through the peephole and smiled. It was Will. I opened the door.
"Hi," I smiled.
"Who is it?" Aelyn asked, looking over my shoulder. He looked a little surprised at seeing her.
"There is no way your old enough for her to be your daughter." He said.
"No, she's my sister." I smiled.
"I can see a resemblance." He said.
"Will meet Aelyn, Aelyn meet Will." I said, turning sideways so they could see each other better.
"Nice to meet you." Will smiled.
"Same!" she grinned.
"How old are you?" he asked her.
"13, almost 14." She said.
"How soon is almost?" he asked.
"Three weeks, exactly." She smiled. He nodded.
"Am I gonna be invited to your party?" he asked.
"Sure!" she smiled widely and excitedly. He laughed.
"I actually came by because you left something on the ground at work." Will said, turning back to me.
"I did?" I asked, blushing.
"Yea, you left this." He said, holding up a bag of makeup. I laughed.
"Thanks." I said, grabbing it.
"No problem." He smiled.
"Do you want to see our house?" I offered.
"If you don't mind." He said.
"I don't mind at all." I smiled.
"Great." He said. I let him in.
"So this is our living room." I told him. He nodded and looked around. "Our kitchen." I said, leading him through the doorway. I walked over to our sliding glass doors. "Our backyard." I said, opening the door.
"Very nice so far." He smiled.
"Thanks." I said. I closed the door, locked it, then led him to the hallway. "Ael's room, the bathroom, and my room." I said, opening my door.
"Nice." He said, walking in a little ways.
"Yea, I like it." I said. Three of my walls were a dusty rose color, and one wall was floral print wallpaper. I had a queen size bed with a dark purple comforter, and pink rose shaped throw pillows. I also had a dark wood dresser.
"So, does your sister live with you?" he asked.
"Yea," I said.
"Do you mind me asking why?" he asked.
"No, um, our dad passed away so I got custody of her." I told him.
"Is it just you two?" he asked.
"Well, there's our grandparents from both sides, our older brother, some aunts and uncles, but we're closer to each other then any of them." I explained.
"I see. So, you don't have a boyfriend or anything?" he asked.
"Nope." I smiled.
"You seem happy about that." He laughed.
"Well, I don't know if I'm happy about it," I laughed too. He smiled.
"Well, thank you for the tour." He said.
"Your welcome. Thanks for bringing me my makeup." I said, walking back into the hallway.
"No problem. It was convenient since your so close." He said. I nodded. We walked to the front door. "You know, maybe we could get dinner sometime." He said.
"I'd like that." I smiled.
"Great. I'll probably see you around tomorrow." He said.
"Alright, bye." I said.
"Bye," he smiled. I smiled and turned to my sister.
"I like him." She said.
"So do I." I said, "Now lets go to bed." I said with a yawn.
