Womanhood
Dear Auden,
I remember when I first got my period. I was at home, alone. I was scared out of my 14-year-old mind and I didnt have any pads or whatever. Do you remember what I did? I called you. Even though you're a guy, I called you. We were best friends, and as you once said 'As tight as a fat guy wearing spandex'. You know what you did? You sprinted over to my house, with a box of tampons and 3 pads that you stole from your mum.
You said quote,
"Welcome to womanhood, Em" through the door
"You would know wouldn't you Denny!" I shouted back, comfortable with my pad. You said that you'd stay over and look after me. You made me my favorite food, your homemade mac 'n' cheese. And yes, you had to make me spit out my lemonade by saying,
"Next time I have a wet dream, will you come over and wash my sheets? I don't want to have to face Mum again"
That started a laughing fit that lasted so long that the mac 'n' cheese had gone cold.
"Seriously Em, please?" He re-tried.
You knew I would. You had done this for me so how could I not? I replied with a,
"Sure bud"
