Dear Santa,
This year, I have moved into a new town called Huntington Beach. I am now a fourth grader. Although I have made many friends, there is one person who I have a crush on. It's not my first love like I told Laurie last summer before moving to Huntington Beach. I have a crush on my new best friend, Matthew Sanders. This year, please make Matt look at me.

I stared down at the old piece of fake parchment paper that my mom used to give me to write a letter to write to Santa. Now that I think about it, I thanked God for making me keep the letter instead of sending it to Santa (a.k.a my parents). It's been thirteen years since I've written this letter. Thirteen long years of holding my feelings for a certain Matthew Sanders. Even now, after thirteen years, the feelings for him remained unrequited and a secret from his friend and mine. But now that we were both twenty-three, it was probably time for me to give up. There were so many women who wanted the now well-known M.Shadows, and there were so little men who wanted a plain jane like me.
Folding the letter back and placing it in the envelope, I knew that this Christmas, I would throw all those feelings away.
