I'm a Teenage Girl Teaching at an All Boys School for Delinquents

I smiled smugly as all my students started to pour into the room. I looked around the room and saw that Sean and Maxi where on time, unfortunately, Jace from Sean’s gang and Mathew from Maxi’s gang where both late. I groaned that could only mean one thing.

“Sean.” He looked at me with his light blue eyes, I felt like I was about to melt until I remembered I was meant to ask him something. “U-Uh, do you know where Jace is?” He shrugged,

“How should I know?” He then turned away from me to sulk like he normally did before class started; I sighed and turned to Maxi.

“Maxi. Do you know where Mathew is?” He smirked,

“Why would I tell you?” I bit my lip, where was Ruth?

“Blake?” I asked, he shrugged,

“Last I saw him was on the bus. He said he needed to do something and ran off.” I groaned internally. I jumped when the door flung open,

“Everybody sit down!” If you where blind, you’d probably mistake Ruth for an all powerful queen addressing a bickering court room. Everyone went silent, “Well? Are you all deaf or are you just plain stupid? Sit! Down!” Maxi stiffened, I looked at him puzzled. He couldn’t already be afraid of her. Some students sat, others continued to sit on top of their desks but didn’t dare to talk. Sean seemed to be rather interested in both Ruth and I now. I looked around the room,

“You heard her. Sit down.” A few more sat. Maxi scowled,

“What are you doing here Ruth?” He hissed through gritted teeth, she smirked at him,

“Oh. Did I forget to tell you? Lexi here hired me. I’m now permitted to yell at you without getting scolded by mum. This is going to be fun.” He shot her a glare before sending me a spine tingling one. Without mum scolding me? What did she mean? Does she know him? I sighed, not the right time or place to be thinking this,

“Ok class. Those of you who are still standing, please sit.” I heard someone snort, I remembered his name was George, he was on Maxi’s side which meant he was in his gang,

“Oh yea, and what are you gonna-“

“Sit down.” Ruth ordered him. He frowned at her,

“And short stuffs bossing me around why?” Maxi shot up,

“George! You say one more word and I swear you’re gonna find a knife in your heart by lunch.” George flinched back.

“Please refrain from making threats Maxi.” Ruth looked at me and raised one eye-brow, “What?” I asked her,

“Nothing nothing. Only the fact that you sound like Mrs. Davids.” I thought about it and realised I did. I shrugged,

“Oh well.” I looked around the room and saw that the whole class was sitting. I smiled, “See everyone, isn’t it better when we all co-operate?” I heard some mumbles, my eyes passed by Sean who was smirking at me. I felt my face heat up so I quickly looked back to the other side of the room, “Ok. I need to know where Mathew and Jace are.” It went silent,

“Uh... If it helps, I saw them both in the field this morning. It looked like it was getting pretty ugly.” My heart rate increased,

“They were fighting?!” I looked over at Sam, he shook his head,

“Na, Jace seemed pretty worked up though. Their probably fighting now though. Mathew doesn’t really like skipping class.”

“Yea because that kids a fucking nerd!” Someone called out,

“Takes one to know one asshole! I bet that Mathew beat his ass all the way into next year!” Blake called out; I looked around the room at the now feuding boys,

“Hey!” Ruth yelled, they all stopped fighting, “We gotta find them first before we know who won! Why don’t I go out and find them.” She looked at me, “That is if it’s alright with you.” I nodded,

“Take someone with you in case their still at it or if their hurt.” I looked around the room, “Uh. Sean.” His head shot up,

“Yea?”

“Can you go with Ruth to help her?” He nodded and stood up.

“Do I just bring them back here?” He asked. Now I know it was just a simple question but it was the longest sentence I’ve heard him say without it being a threat or shouting at Maxi. I found myself lost in thought, I came back to reality due to Ruth elbowing me,

“Dude, bring them back here or not?” I mentally slapped myself; I was in a classroom full of observant students!

“Um, yea. If their hurt then take them to the nurses whether they like it or not.” Ruth nodded; I looked back to Sean who was looking at me with an unreadable expression on his face. I jumped when Ruth whispered in my ear,

“We’ll talk about this later.” Then she walked out the door with Sean following behind. I felt a blush creeping onto my face so I quickly turned to the board and started to write out today’s lesson.
