Marine's Daughter

~Kim’s P.O.V~
“So what are you going to say in the email?” Jared asked me once we got to my house.

“Well I was going to tell them how both of her parents have served in the military, how her mom passed away when she was little, how she’s lived on the base her entire life, traveled from place to place with her dad and etc.” I told him walking up to my door and unlocking it. “MOM!?” I yelled. NO response. “Guess she’s not home.” I said walking into the living room and closing the door behind us. “So do you think that we can actually pull this off for her? I mean it would be amazing if we could.” I said sitting on the couch. Jared sat next to me and wrapped his arm around my shoulders.

“Emily said that she is gonna contact General Worthington tomorrow while everyone is at school so we should know tomorrow afternoon or sometime within the next few days.” he said.

“It was so heartbreaking to hear their conversation. I don’t know what I would do if someone I knew was sent overseas like that.” I sighed. Before he could say anything a loud howl echoed through the house breaking out silence. He let out a loud and long sigh before saying anything.

“I better go.” he said giving me a kiss.

“Be careful.” I said walking him to the door.

“Always am. Love you.” he smiled running out of the house.

“Love you too.” I smiled closing the door and locking it then turning out all the lights and headed up to my room and went to bed.

~Alice’s P.O.V~
Edward and Bella had flown to Jacksonville for a few days so Bella could see her mom while we waited for Victoria to come. “She’s close.” I informed everyone as I watched her thoughts. The leaves ruffled a little and our attention turned toward the trees. Leah and Quil.

“Alert the pack…we all will have company soon.” Carlisle told them. They bowed their heads then ran off and a few seconds later we heard a howl.

“Get ready.” I said as another vision hit me. Suddenly another vision hit me. “TO YOUR LEFT!!!” I yelled. Everyone look off running in the direction I told them. A few seconds later we saw a flash of red and I jumped at her along with Rose. We missed. We got back up to see Jaz and Emmett on her tail followed by Esme and Carlisle. Emmett jumped at her and landed on her back before being thrown in to a tree close by. Rose stopped and made sure he was ok while Jasper followed close behind her. She jumped to the other side of the river on the wolves territory.

“SHE’LL GET AWAY!!!” Esme yelled as we ran next to her on the other side. Suddenly two wolves jumped out of the trees.

“NO SHE WON’T!!!” Jasper replied. The two wolves rushed her as she jumped back to our side. Out of nowhere Emmett appeared and jumped at her. Before he could grab her she jumped to the other side.

“EM NO!!!!” Rose yelled as her husband jumped over the river only to be knocked to the water by Paul. They both growled at each other but didn’t attack.

“She won’t be back for a while. This was only a test.” I said as another vision hit me.

***TWO DAYS LATER***
~Jake’s P.O.V~
Stupid leech had to ruin everything. We would’ve gotten her if he didn’t jump across the treaty line. He’s lucky Sam ordered Paul not to attack or there would be one less bloodsucker we would have to worry about. Edward and Bella had returned to Forks and I was gonna make it known that if they cross the line again the treaty is broken. I road my motorcycle up to Forks after making sure Olivia got off to school ok. I made it to Forks High School just before the rest of the students did so I sat by my bike and waited. Soon enough the parking lot was filled with gawking students and beat up cars. Shortly after Edwards black car pulled into the parking lot, Bella in the passenger seat. They talked for a little then finally stepped out and made their way toward me. I sighed and headed over. “Hey.” Bella said pulling her hood over her head.

“Charlie said you left town.” I said ignoring the leech’s smell.

“Yeah. To visit my mom. Why?” she asked.

“He’s checking to see if you’re still human.” Edward said with a smirk. He was really getting under my skin.

“Look, I’m here to warn you. If your kind come on our land again…” I started but was interrupted by Bella.

“Wait, what?” she asked confused. I looked at her in shock then looked at the leech.

“You didn’t tell her?” I asked.

“Just leave it alone Jacob.” he said. I balled my hand up into fists trying not to cause a scene.

“Tell me what?” Bella asked looked at her bloodsucker.

“Emmett and Paul had a misunderstanding. It’s nothing to worry about.” he said as if nothing happened.

“Listen to you. Did you lie to get her out of town too?” I asked annoyed.

“You should just leave. Now.” he replied getting closer to me.

“She has a right to know. She is the one the redhead wants.” I said looking from him to her.

“Victoria? Alice’s vision.” she said turning to look from me to him. Putting things together in her head.

“I was trying to protect you.” he said.

“By lying to me.” she said looking at him. They looked at each other for a few seconds. “Okay, we’re gonna talk about this, but…You.” she said looking at me. “Why haven’t you called me back?” she asked.

“I had nothing to say.” I told her before walking away.

“Well, I have tons. Hold on.” she replied following me.

“Hey. Bella.” Edward said trying to stop her.

“Edward, you have to trust me.” she said.

“I do trust you. It’s him I don’t trust.” he said looking my way. I huffed and rolled my eyes. Yeah cause I’m the untrusting one. She turned and walked toward me without saying anything. I climbed on my bike and she followed.

“Hey, lose the grin, Jacob. We’re just going for a ride.” she said putting the helmet on.

“Hold on tight.” I said starting the engine. She wrapped her arms around me and I sighed. This felt wrong but right. Olivia and I aren’t dating so it’s not cheating but I still felt somewhat bad that she’s in school and I’m joy riding around with Bella. I took off and headed down to La Push. It had stopped raining thankfully so I sped to Emily’s where the rest of the pack was. Once we got there we got off and walked toward the house.

“Are you sure this is a good idea?” she asked. “I am the vampire girl, remember?” she said turning to look at me. Suddenly the door opened and the pack walked out.

“Hey, look whose back.” Embry said.

“What up Bella?” Quil asked. It was the first time she’d seem him actually with the pack in La Push.

“Quil? You too?” she asked.

“Yep. Finally made the pack.” everyone laughed.

“I’m glad you’re here, Bella. Maybe we can get a break from Jake’s obsessive inner monologue.” Embry teased. I rolled my eyes.

“I wish Bella would call.” Paul growled.

“I wish Bella wouldn’t call.” Jared joined in.

“Maybe I should call Bella.” Embry laughed.

“Maybe I should call Bella and hang up.” Quil snickered. They pack all busted out laughing.

“All right, you can shut up now.” I slightly laughed. Suddenly the screen door opened and out walked Leah and all her rage. She and Olivia had gotten into a fight this morning which pissed her off extremely. “Bella, this is Leah Clearwater, Harry’s daughter.” I said introducing them.

“Hey. I’m really sorry about your father.” Bella said quietly.

“If you’re here to torture Jacob some more, feel free to leave.” Leah replied glaring at her and walking away.

“Fun, isn’t she?” I asked sarcastically. The screen door opened again and this time Emily and Sam walked out. The next couple hours were pretty boring till we walked over to my house. We talked on the way there about the whole Sam/Leah/Emily love triangle. About how Sam and Leah once dated but Sam met Emily and they broke up. Then we ended up on the topic of imprinting when we got to my garage.

“Do I even want to know what that is?” She asked. I put my bike on its stand and sighed.

“Imprinting on someone is like…like when you see her, everything changes. All of a sudden, it’s not gravity holding you to the planet. It’s her. Nothing else matters. You would do anything, be anything for her.” I couldn’t help thinking about Olivia when I said all this.

“Sounds like you know the feeling.” I couldn’t help but smile a little. “Have you…imprinted on someone?” she asked. We looked at each other for a few minutes. “Have you?” she asked.

“Yea.” I said loud enough for her to hear. I heard her gasp in either shock or hurt but when I looked at her I saw shock.

“Who is she?” she asked.

“Olivia Waterman.” I said.

“The girl whose been staying with Sam and Emily?” she questioned.

“Yea…that’s her.” I answered.

“So…are you to like dating?” she asked.

“Not yet…she and Paul dated and things ended badly.” I said.

“So…you’re still you?” she asked.

“And you’re still you.” I replied looking at her. She suddenly looked hesitant.

“Yea. Until graduation.” she said. My breath caught in my throat.

“Graduation?” I asked in horror.

“You knew this was gonna happen.” she said.

“Not in a month! I mean, not before you’ve…you’ve even lived. Or before I could…” Anger took over me and I threw a wrench across the room. “For a second, just a second, I thought…But he’s got his hooks in you so deep.”

“I decided this, not him.”

“Bella, they’re not even alive. It makes me sick. Better you really be dead than one of them.” I said. I instantly felt regret. I couldn’t believe I said that to her. She looked at me before turning to walk past me and out the door. Before she could exit she stopped and looked at me.

“I can’t believe you just said that.” she said obviously hurt. “Edward was right, I shouldn’t have come.” she said.

“Bella, come on. Please.” I begged. “I’m sorry.” Before I could say anything else she turned and left. God I am such an ass. I caught a glimpse of the clock on the wall and realized that Olivia got out of school in a few minutes so I ran back over to Sam and Emily’s.

“How’d it go with Bella?” Quil asked once I walked through the door.

“Don’t wanna talk about it.” I said plopping down on the couch next to him and Embry.

“That bad huh?” Seth asked. I glared at him and just then the door opened and the house was filled with Olivia and Kim’s laughs. Jared instantly shot off the couch and ran to her.

“Hey guys…how was your day?” Olivia asked dropping her bag by the door and coming over to sit in Jared’s spot.

“Boring…Bella came over to see us.” Quil said earning a smack on the back of the head from Embry.

“Why was Bella in La Push? Thought she went to Forks High?” she asked confused.

“She and Edward just got back from Florida visiting her mom and I had to inform him about the incident between Emmett and Paul.” I explained.

“Oh ok.” she said looking at me.

~Olivia’s P.O.V~
I couldn’t help but feel jealous that Bella and Jake got to spend the day together while I was in school getting an education. The rest of the night was kind of boring. We ate, they patrolled and I did my homework. After a few hours everyone went home and I went to bed with the jealousy monster sleeping under my bed.
