Imprinted on My Heart

Maeve’s POV

Adolf had called all of the pack and we made our way to their meeting place though I had to have my eyes covered the whole way in case I wasn’t accepted into the pack and then I couldn’t tell anyone where they met, Alex had nearly lost his temper at that but I calmed him down and he ended up carrying me to the clearing with me wearing a blindfold though I don’t see how this worked because I just memorized the turns that Alex took and how long between each one so I knew where we were anyway but oh well.

I was set down and then the blindfold taken off and I blinked to get my eyes right and was shocked to see a mass of people staring at me. I looked up at Alex who was next to me and he gave a small reassuring grin as he stood slightly in front of but to the right so that he was partially hiding me from view. I straightened my spine and made my face a mask of indifference which I had perfected over the years and listened to Adolf
“I brought you all here because we have two things to discuss, I’ll start with the most important, there are Vampires in the area” the crowd started talking loudly with many worried and others wanting to kill them. Adolf let them discuss it for a few moments before he held up a hand and the crowd fell silent
“the vampires were brought into the area by a couple of humans and they are currently on our land so we need a way to deal with them with little damage to the humans, any ideas please step up” a few people made their way to the front and came up with ideas on how to handle the vampires though many were gory and I don’t think they would work well.

Adolf took them all into consideration before he said
“the council will get together and we will discuss this and carry out a plan of action by the end of the week, these vampires need to be dealt with” a murmur of agreement went around the group before Adolf started talking again
“on a happier note I would like to introduce you all to a new wolf” he turned and motioned for me to walk towards him, I did so looking confident so I didn’t appear weak. Adolf took my shoulder and faced us towards the pack of at least forty
“this is Maeve who has never been a part of a pack though she has been a wolf for four years, it is up to you whether she joins our pack or if we exile her” my breath froze in my lungs for a moment before I heard a voice call
“Join!” I looked for who it was and saw Gabe grinning with the others around him who all joined in, I smiled at them and looked back at Alex who was grinning at his friends. Facing forwards again I saw that everyone was now asking for me to join and I looked at Adolf who nodded to me with a smile and I grinned before I turned and bounced over to Alex who swooped me up and started twirling us around. I laughed as did the crowd and we stopped as Adolf calmed the crowd and asked
“now Maeve needs somewhere to stay, is anyone willing to put her up?” Alex’s grip on me tightened and I saw Mia move to the front of the crowd. When she reached the front she grinned
“she can stay with me, I need a sister” a woman who looked like Mia stepped up and smiled
“yes it would be fun to have another girl around the house” I smiled at them both and Adolf said
“then it’s settled, she will live with the Addison’s, you can all leave now” I smiled and went to move towards Mia but Alex tightened his grip around me.

Turning in his arms I looked up into his face to see him looking slightly sad, raising a hand I cupped his cheek and asked
“what’s the matter?” I was worried that he didn’t really want me to be a part of the pack but he answered
“I won’t have you sleeping in my house now, or sat at my dinner table” I laughed and shook my head
“is that all? Alex I can come round anytime and I’m sure Mia’s mom won’t care either I mean she looks like a really nice person” Alex grinned
“she is and she makes the best brownies” I giggled and patted his stomach
“always with the food” Alex smirked and leaned down to whisper in my ear
“no, all I think of is you” I pulled back and blushed and he was about to lean in when Mia and the rest bounded up the stairs and she threw herself at me talking a mile a minute
“oh my gosh you get to live with me! We can share clothes and have better slumber parties staying up all night and talking, oh and it means my mom has a reason to redecorate the spare room which she is loving and oh I am so happy you will be living with me” she had started hugging me during her rant and I was slowly losing oxygen. I looked at the others and mouthed
“help” and Nick chuckled and came and pried Mia loose whispering in her ear and I worked to get air back in my lungs.

Alex moved back over to me and I settled into his arms, Jo noticed and smiled
“I see you two are together then?” I looked up at Alex who was looking down at me and I watched as a smile came to his face and he said
“yes” I grinned and he returned it before he bent his head down and kissed me chastely on the lips making the girls aw and the guys grin before Gabe shook his fist at him
“damn you for taking the hot girl” Alex glared at him and hugged me tighter which made me laugh and I turned into his side and near enough curled myself around him as I snuggled my head into his chest. Jo laughed and asked
“are you sure you’re a wolf and not a cat?” I looked at her and smiled
“oh yes quite sure, he does smell wonderful” I sniffed him which made everyone laugh and we all headed out of the woods following the rest of the pack and we made our way to Alex’s so I could get my stuff.
