Plans and Lunch

"So did you have fun?" Bella asked when I got home.
I shrugged. "Yeah, yeah. We went riding then Jacob showed me First Beach down in La Push. It was a blast." My tone was sarcastic, but the words were true. I had actually had a good time with Jacob, but that thought scared me.
"You know, it's funny. Every time you say 'yeah' you say it twice."
I stared at her like she was crazy. "Your point?" I prompted.
"Well I think that it's funny just because every time Jacob says 'sure', he says that twice. You each have your own catch-phrases: 'yeah, yeah' and 'sure, sure'."
I rolled my eyes. "I really don't see why that matters. Why are you bringing this up?" She shrugged and smiled knowingly. My eyes widen. "You're not trying to-? Oh, hell no! You are not going to try to set me up with that kid!"
"What? I didn't say that," she argued.
"Isabella Marie Swan. Look me in the eye and tell me that you're not trying to hook me up with Jacob Black."
"I am not trying to hook you up with Jacob Black." She was lying. Anyone could see that.
"Bella! First of all, he's two fucking years younger than I am!"
"So? He doesn't really look like it."
"That’s true; even your boyfriend looks younger than Jacob. But that still doesn't change the facts that there's a slight age difference. Secondly, Jacob's a pain in my ass. Why the hell would I want to go out with him?"
"Come on, Elizabeth. You can't even give him a chance?"
"No! Bella, I will not go out with him!"
UGH! Why is she being so damn difficult?! What is it with her that she wants me to date him? I don't even like him.
*Lie,* the little voice in my head told me.
*Oh shut up. I do NOT like Jacob Black. He's a douche. Great, now I'm talking to myself. At least no one can hear but me. God, maybe I am crazy.

*BELLA'S POV*
I smiled slightly at my sister as she sat on one of the mismatched chairs in the kitchen. Her eyes were glazed over and her face was scrunched up. I knew that look. She was arguing with herself. I could almost hear what she was thinking. Like the twin telepathy that I'd told Jake about.
"Hey, Lizzy, do you want to help me cook dinner?"
"Sure," she said enthusiastically before getting serious. She rolled her eyes. "Bells, when do I ever help cook? My cooking skills could rival Dad's in crappiness. I'll just be upstairs doing homework.”
She rose from the chair but stumbled over the threshold. She was almost as clumsy as me. I watched her disappear and the second she hit the top, I ran to the phone.
"Edward?"
"Yes, love?" I melted at the sound of his honey smooth voice. Wait, focus, Bella.
"Okay, hold on for one second." I hit the flash button and dialed another number.
"Hello?" he answered sleepily.
"Hi, wait just a sec." I hit the flash again. "Hello?"
"Yes?" both of them said simultaneously. Edward and Jacob heard each other and started growling.
"Hey, can you two just listen to me for a minute?" They stopped. "Good. Now, Jacob, do you like my sister?"
"Of course he does," Edward said. "The mutt is already in love with her."
"HEY!" Jake protested. "Can you read my mind over the phone?"
"No. But I did hear it at the barbecue. You already imprinted on Elizabeth."
"Jake, do you like my sister?" I repeated. I knew Edward was right, but I wanted him to admit it.
"Your bloodsucker took the words right from my mouth. I didn't want to admit it, but yeah."
"I have an idea but I need both to keep an open mind. Promise?"
"Of course, love," Edward answered.
Jacob was a little more hesitant. "I don't know, Bells. I don't like the sound of that.” He sighed after a long minute. “Fine, I guess."
"Good. Now, Lizzy won't go out with just you Jake 'cause you're two years younger."
"What? Do I fucking look like I'm barely sixteen?"
"You act like it," Edward muttered. They started growling again.
"LISTEN! I've only got a few minutes to talk. Jake, the fact of the matter is that you are only sixteen. It's weird for her because she usually dates older guys. Now will you please just listen to my idea? Friday night, we are all going on a double date."
"Bella, sweetheart, you know that won't work," Edward said.
"Fine. Jacob can go out with Lizzy and I'll go with... Seth. We can have a double date that way."
Edward sighed. "Bella. You know I won't let you do that. Fine, I'll come."
"I don't know, honey," Jacob said and I could hear him smirking. "Maybe Seth would be a better candidate for this double date thing."
I laughed. "Shut up, Jake. So Friday night? You guys come at around six. Shoot. Gotta go. Love you, 'bye."
"Bella ar- who was that?" Lizzy asked pointing to the phone.
"Telemarketer. Wrong number."
"No," she argued. "The phone didn't ring. That means you called someone. Who was it?"
I knew she would see right through any lie. "Edward. I was just making plans for Friday."
"That's like two days away. You need to be more spontaneous, Bells. Like me." She plopped into one of the three kitchen stairs and watched as I went back to cooking dinner.
"Sure, like you. I'm danger prone enough so I don't think I'd live through a day acting like you."
"True. But I hear that you were quite the biker back when Edward was gone."
I blushed scarlet. "Who said that?"

*LiZzY'S pOv*
Her voice squeaked and she was tomato red. I really didn’t feel like doing homework so I decided to bug her while she cooked. Seeing her bright red was worth walking up the stairs, abandoning all hope of doing any school crap, and then walking back down like a minute later.
"Jacob. He told me that you got each of you a motorcycle. He also said that you got pretty good, after a shit load of accidents."
"He said that?"
"My words, same idea," I shrugged. "I'm proud of you. Breaking rules, being a badass, living life on the edge, doing things I'd do. Very nice, Twinie."
She rolled her eyes and didn't say anymore on the subject. I took that as my cue to shut up and just watched in boredom as she finished getting dinner ready.
School was pretty normal, except now I was getting sappy notes from Rick nonstop. It was seriously starting to piss me off. I would just rip up the notes and throw them away when I passed him going between buildings.
"So, Lizzy, I was thinking that we should do something this weekend," Bella said at lunch. "Like, hang out with Jake and the three of us can go riding out in La Push."
"How about not?"
"Well a few people like Jess and Angela were going to First Beach on Saturday if you want to go."
I rolled my eyes. "Bella, I know you're trying to get me and Jacob Black together, but it's not going to work. Besides, I can't stand Jessica or Lauren."
"Well Eric's going, and Ben, Tyler, Mike an-"

*edwardspov*
*Newton? Speaking of that sonofabitch…* "Can you hold that thought, sis? I'll be right back," Lizzy said, her voice dripping with venom.
"What's she up to?" Jasper asked. "She's totally pissed." I shrugged. Lizzy's thoughts weren't completely silent like Bella's, but they so muddled by her anger that it was hard to understand what was going through her head. We all turned to watch her waltz to Mike Newton's table. Rick was sitting next to him and was smiling slightly.
*Well looks like she'll forgive me after all,* he thought confidently.
Liz slammed her hands on the table in front of them. "I know about the bet. Let me tell you both something, the next time you try to play me, I'll take a fucking blade and gut you like the filthy pigs you are. You will never have sex with any of these sluts again," she screamed pointing at Jessica and Lauren.
"Elizabeth-"
"Shut up, Lauren. The next note I get from you, Rick, I will burn along with you. And I don’t make threats lightly. Understand?!"
She didn't wait for an answer. She walked back towards us. *Talk about a ten daisy day. I need to go get wasted or high or something. Screw the afternoon classes.*
Alice's eyes glazed over for half a second. Her vision showed Lizzy in the forest. She was sitting not too far from school with a bottle of whisky from her backpack. She was completely trashed and passed out. Alice stole the bottle from her bag and hid it. Lizzy grabbed her backpack and left. Alice gave me a small smile before dancing out the doors after her.

*lizzy's pov*
I searched through my bag and came up with nothing. I know I had a whisky bottle in here somewhere. WTF! Where did my booze go? Well this sucks. I spent the rest of the afternoon sitting up in a tree. For part of the time I drew and for the other part I took pictures of everything I could see from up there. At least I could do something since I wasn't getting drunk. So much for relaxing during lunch.
