Make Me Better

Chapter 52

I leaned back in my chair, stretching slightly. the classroom was starting to get empty. I packed up my things and walked out the class tiredly.

"So?" I asked, approaching Frank at 'our' table, "What is it now?" Referring to Jenna and her new antics. It was our first day back since Winter break, I wasn't really looking forward to school just because of Jenna, she made things harder then they needed to be.

Frank sighed deeply, "She's telling everyone it was a false alarm." I almost laughed but then someone interrupted me.

"Hey, do you know what girl's name?" Mikey asked, a smile on his face, he was pointing to a red head.
Frank hummed, "No, I don't. Why? Do you fancy the ginger?"
I chuckled softly, "Aw, Mikey! That is so cute! " He was clearly blushing as he tried to hide his face with his hands.
"I just want to know her name." he stated.

"because you want to date her, huh?" I nudged him playfully. He laughed nervously, I smiled at how cute it was.
"You're a stud, Michael. She'll totally love you!" I gushed. Frank coughed loudly, causing me to look over at him.

"We don't know the girl, Oli. What if she's totally wrong for him?" I glanced back over at the red head, and then back at Mikey.

"But they would look so cute together! Don't you think?" I asked with a smile. Frank shrugged,

"Just go talk to her, Mikey."

"She's in my English class. She sits in front of me."

I shook my head, "You sound creepy, Way." He blushed once more,
"Do I? I don't mean to be. Really."

"So, you really like her?" Frank asked. Mikey shrugged slightly. The girl looked fairly friendly and inviting, I don't see why Mikey wouldn't want to talk to her.

"Ok," I said, standing up, "I'll be right back." Mikey said nothing but I could hear Frank protesting. Luckily, the girl was sitting by herself.

"Hi," I greeted with a smile, "I'm Olive." She looked up at me, returning the smile,

"Hello, I'm Emily." Her voice was small and sweet. I nodded,

"Nice to meet you, I was just wondering if you wanted to come and sit with us?" I asked with hopeful eyes, she looked over at the table and then back at me, she nodded quickly. She was way pretty, like way pretty! She looked like a model. Her red hair was long and wavy at the bottom, her skin was a nice pale color and her eyes were an icy green. I was grinning widely, as we both walked over to the table.

"This is Emily," I said, directing it towards Mikey, who seemed extremely nervous. " She's gonna sit with us, ok?" Mikey nodded quickly.

"Hey, I'm Frank."

"Emily," She smiled, she looked down at Mikey, "and who would you be?" I watched Mikey as he stuttered out a reply,

"Oh. Um, I'm Mikey."

Frank was shaking his head as I looked over at him. "What?" I whispered. He looked away from me and then back at Emily.

"So, Emily, you're new?" Frank asked.

She nodded, taking a seat next to Mikey, "Yeah, we moved here from New York," She sighed a little, "It sort of sucks because I don't know people here."

"You know us." I smiled. Frank nudged my leg, I glared at him. All I was trying to do was set Mikey up with the girl he liked, I wasn't doing anything wrong.
She laughed, "Yay!"

"Yay!" I replied, matching her enthusiasm. Mikey wasn't talking much and I made sure to give him the opportunity to. I couldn't help him with how nervous he sounded when he would talk, but atleast he was talking. It was too cute. When lunch was over, we said our goodbye's, Emily was nice and she seemed perfect for Mikey.

"What are you up to?" Frank asked, his arm wrapped around my shoulders. I glanced over at him,

"What do you mean, Iero?" I asked, raising my eyebrows.

"You know what I mean. When did you become Ms. Matchmaker?"

"Aw, come on! I just had to. Mikey deserves a girlfriend and she's really nice and really pretty, and they would be cute together! I'm just helping Mikey out." I smiled sheepishly.

"What if she doesn't see him that way? Then what?"

"Don't jinx it, shut up!" I walked away from him quickly, covering my ears with my hands. I glanced behind me to look at him,

"Well, she could be the next Jenna." He shrugged.

"Don't compare her to that piece of trash. She seems like a nice girl for Mikey. Mikey deserves a nice girl, and I'm totally helping him win her heart over." I smiled.

"You're getting carried away, Olive." He caught up to me and grabbed my hand in his,

"Don't call me that." I mumbled.
