I'd Hate to See You Cry

“Thanks, Alex. That was a yummy breakfast.” I patted my tummy. “Best chocolate chip pancakes ever.”

“You're welcome.” Alex kissed my cheek softly. “So what do you ladies have planned for today?”

“Shopping!” Cayla smiled widely.

“I'm excited!” Kara giggled.

I smiled.

“When do we leave?”

“How about twenty minutes?” Cayla asked. “We've gotta get ready, and such.”

“I'm gonna need longer than that” I giggled. “Have you seen my hair.”

“Yes, as a matter of fact, I have.” Cayla replied. “It's a freaking mess.”

“Thank you Caption Obvious.”

Jack leaned over toward Zack.

“Alex rode her hard.”

I felt my mouth drop, and Kara hit Jack upside the head.

“Ow!”

Alex chuckled.

“Rian, please tell you girlfriend to stop beating up my wife.”

“Wife?!” Jack asked. “I thought that we agreed I was the husband?”

“Jack, you're clearly the wife. You are skinny, and whiny.”

I smacked Alex in the chest. He gave me a weird look.

“Be nice to your wife.”

“I'm not the wife, dammit!” Jack retorted.

“Fine,” I rolled my eyes playfully. “Alex please be nice to your life partner.”

“Yes, dear.” Alex mumbled.

Cayla laughed in amusement.

“So I guess that we can leave in about a hour and a half?”

“Sure,” Kara shrugged.

“Oh and we can invite Jenna!” I suggested.

“Perfect!” Cayla smiled.

“She needs to be introduced to the guys and Kara.” I added.

“Okay so you and Jenna need to get ready.”

“Alright.” I replied. “I'll meet you guys back here in a hour and a half with Jenna?”

“Sounds good,” Cayla laughed.

I stood up, and picked up the plate. I walked to the sink. I stuck my plate in the sink.

“I'll walk you home, if you want me to?”

I jumped because I didn't expect him in there.

“You can if you want to, but what do you guys have planned for today?”

“Nothing really,” He shrugged.

“I have to go get ready now. Do you want to go with me?”

“Sure. I'll change at your house.” He kissed my cheek. He ran off to his room. I walked back into the dining room. I noticed that both Cayla and Kara were missing.

“Where did they do?” I questioned. Rian didn't say anything. He got up, and stomped off to his room. “What did I miss?!”

“Rian and Kara got into a little tiff.” Zack replied.

“Oh.” I stood there awkwardly for a minute. “What happened?”

“She said that she didn't know if she could make the show tonight.” Jack shrugged.

“That's....odd.”

Zack nodded.

“Hey, Jack Attack?”

“Yeah?”

“Will you go get your wife?”

Jack shrugged again.

“Sure.” He stood up, and went upstairs.

I sat down in a chair, and I eyed Zack.

“So you and Cayla....again?” I stated more than asked.

Zack gave me a goofy grin.

“Yes ma'am.” He laughed. “I really missed her.”

“Really?” A smiled spread across his face.

“Yeah,” I nodded. “But break her heart, and I'll have to mess you up, Merrick.”

“Got it.”

“Where in the hell is my- Alex.” I barely caught myself. Zack ave me a look, and I felt my cheeks heat up. “Alex! Hurry, or I'm leaving without you!”

About ten seconds later, Alex and Jack came running downstairs.

“Okay, let's go.” Alex smiled at me, clothes in his hands.

“Bye guys!” I called into the house as we walked outside. Alex shut the door behind him. We walked on the other side of the street, walking toward my house. Alex's hand lightly hit my own. I looked up at him, and he smiled. I let Alex's fingers lace threw my own. It felt so right. I just knew I was smiling like an idiot.

“What took you so long to get your clothes?”

“I went ahead and took a shower.”

“Not with Jack, I hope.” I joked.

“Damn, you caught me,” Alex chuckled.

I laughed.

“So what does this make us?” I questioned him.

“This makes you my girlfriend.” He replied.

I looked up at Alex only to fill his lips against mine softly. I smiled into the kiss as we stopped to make out on the sidewalk.
