'Safe' Is Not A Word In My Vocabulary

Chapter 47

Centhua’s POV

“Wake up Cent it’s your wedding day!” Bree sang in my ear. I jumped alittle, sitting up to see thick clouds in the sky, but no rain threatening to fall.

I smiled, butterflies assaulting my stomach as Bree threw a pillow at Leah, who was snoring on the couch lightly. She jerked up, glaring at the two of us while I laughed. “Rise and shine sleeping beauty.” I sang, causing her to growl and turn the other way, burrying her head under the covers.

I chuckled, ignoring the attitude while I got up and Kim ran in with Emily following her; she looked excited. “Alice told us to tell you to shower because we all have to get in next; you can eat when you get out.” She said in a rush, seeming hyper and giggly. I mock-saluted her before retrieving a towel from my closet and taking a quick shower.

I washed my hair, and hopped out, wrapping the towel around me before putting on a robe. I ate breakfast that Emily and Bella cooked while Kim showered. My stomach was twisting into anxious knots now, replacing the butterflies and my hands were shaking visably.

“Relax Cent,” Bella scolded, when I threw my plate away. I could hardly eat anything I was so nervous. I tried breathing in and out for a few times, reminding myself why I was doing this and the shaking stopped.

The rest of the morning was a blur of make-up and glitter while everyone got ready.

Alice helped me do my hair, and get into my dress, which was a Silk Corset Giorgio Armani dress with a 16 foot train. (The only reason I know is because Alice told me, otherwise I have no idea what any of those words mean.)

I was shaking again, putting on the dress finally making it into a reality that
I. Was Getting. Married.

Please don’t let me start hyperventilating over that again today…

A car pulled up as Esme came in with Claire. I heard the two of them downstairs where Esme was gushing over how beautiful everyone looked, and everyone else was saying how cute Claire was.

Alice finished and walked off to get herself ready while I sat and waited. Only a minute later and she came back, dressed in one of the same yellow and white bridesmaid’s dresses everyone but Bella, Esme and Claire were wearing. Since Bella was maid of honor, Esme was mother of the bride and Calire was my little flower girl.

Alice helped me up, careful of the dress and we descended down the stairs. It was easier to walk without my shoes, but I guess Alice could’ve done worse than white sandals. Everyone else, minus Claire were in heels. Which I found pointless because they’d just be taking them off when we got to the beach anyways.

“Jake’s a lucky guy,” Kim giggled when I got downstairs all the way; she was both complimenting me and teasing me while I blushed lightly.

Claire, her little five year old dimples popping out when she smiled, touched the fabric resting on my leg softly, “Pretty,” she commented. The others nodded their agreement while I was seated into another chair, or as it shall now be called, ‘torture seat’ so the girls could do my make-up.

A few hours later, and we were all ready, and the girls lined up so I could see them. Kim’s earring needed to be fixed and Leah’s shoe strap needed to be tightened. But other than that, we were ready as we filed out into our cars.

Esme, Alice and Bella rode with me while I tried to calm myself down for the tenth time in ten minutes. Bella chuckled, patting my knee from the front of my car. “Relax Centhua,” she said for the second time. I laughed shakily.

“Don’t tell me you werent ever this nervous,” I muttered, remembering the way she was practically having a exorcism and she grinned at me. Repeating my words from once upon a time, “You’ll be fine, your just having wedding day jitters.”

I groaned, grasping at the chance to distract myself. “You were talking to Edward werent you?” I muttered and Esme laughed. She patted my knee too, and tucked a piece of hair that had fallen into my face back behind my ear.

All too soon, we pulled up to one of the less populated areas of La Push beach and I had to grip Bella’s hand for support. For someone who wasn’t good with weddings, and who was afraid of vows though, I was doing fantastic.

Esme got out, and her and Claire went to where everyone was gathering. Bella got out too, and I saw Damien approach us. My heartbeat picked up a notch.

This was probably the second time in my life I’d seen him in a tux. He grinned when I got out, and handed me a phone; I frowned, but took it anyways.

“Hey Cent,” Jacob said on the other line, sounding just as nervous as I felt. I smiled anxiously, my hands temporarily ending their shaking.

“H-hey Jake,” I mumbled. He laughed quietly while I looked out towards the beach. We were a little away from everyone else, about a hundred plus yards away and I doubted anyone could see me now anyways where I was practically hidden inside the car. Esme and Claire hadnt even reached the group yet, although Bella overshot them to talk to K-9.

“Nervous?” he asked, and I could imagine him grinning. “Yeah actually, aren’t you?” I grinned too and heard him snort. “Of course I am, but I think I’m actually more in shock,” he admitted, laughing. I could hear his voice shake once or twice now, and I felt better.

“Don’t worry, I’ll be with you soon, and then we can suffer together,” I mumbled giggling to myself. He was triumphant when he answered “I’ll be waiting,” he sighed, and I heard Edward’s muffled voice while he groaned. “Ugh, I gotta go Cent, the vamps are getting at me, love you.”

“Love you too,” I breathed, ending the call and handing the phone to my brother. He was smiling, but there was sadness in his eyes.

“Big day huh?” he mumbled, climbing in the car to sit next to me. I wrung my hands nervously, and nodded, looking out at the cloudy beach. It was silent for a while and he kissed my cheek.

“You look beautiful Cent,” he mumbled, and I looked up to see him smiling teary-eyed. “Aw, Day-day,” I cooed, hugging him. He blinked rapidly against the bare skin of my shoulder the dress exposed, but no more tears fell.

“Shh, don’t cry,” I chuckled, rubbing his back. He gripped me tighter and his voice was hoarse. “Promise me something Cent,” he mumbled. I pulled away some so I could look into his puffy eyes.

“Yeah?” I asked. He tried to grin, but it didn’t work out so well. “Promise me this isnt a goodbye, like, you wont live your family life with Jake and forget about the rest of us?”

I frowned at his pessimism, but hugged him again. “I’ll never forget you guys, ever. Even if I do live a family life,” I said, partially glaring at the end. He broke out into a smile when he saw the sincerity in my words and hugged me back.

We sat in silence for only a few more minutes before Bella came back, holding Claire’s hand with Kim and Rachel following. I heard faint music starting in the distance and my heart started dancing wildy in my chest. I got out of the car and Bella hugged me, handing me my bouquet as Damien got out too.

“It’s time Cent,” he said, already over his brief breakdown.

I took a deep breath and Bella led Claire away, leaning back to tell me, “Wait for ten seconds, then follow us,”

I nodded, grabbing Damien’s arm with my trembling one while Kim and Rachel put my veil in place and laid out my train so they could hold it.

Waiting for our cue, I slipped off my shoes and tossed them in the car with the others’. After Bella and Claire got a distance ahead we walked after them, and the music changed. The traditional wedding march played while I tried to keep pace with it.

Claire danced ahead, sprinkling colored rose petals while Bella snuck up behind Edward and gripped his waist. We were close enough now that I could see the entire wedding party, but I didn’t really see anyone.

All I could focus on was Jacob, standing at the end of the sand made isle in a tux, while the brightest smile I’d ever seen on his face. A similar smile appeared on my own lips where I was hidden behind the veil.

I didn’t notice Embry standing behind him, or Bella and Edward on his opposite side with their arms around each other…I didn’t see where Emily held Ant in the front row while Sam held Gabriel…Didn’t notice where K-9 and Crusher were crying in the second row while Ammo was close to a break down himself…Never saw Bree and Alice smiling, or Billy sitting in his chair next to Sue and Charlie.

The isle seemed too long, the music too slow while Damien guided us towards my future husband. I was stupid for worrying over this; it was just Jacob.

The music concluded when Damien and I finished our walk, and I handed my flowers off to Bella while Kim and Rachel sat down beside their boyfriends and Claire rushed over to Quil, who had his arms open to her.

Damien placed my hand in Jacob’s before he melted away and Jacob and I both smiled in awe and admiration while he took my other hand so he could hold them both in his.

“Dearly beloved…” Carlisle began, acting as our pastor. I had to grin at those words, although I tuned the rest of what he said out, just looking at Jacob and smiling until it hurt.

We got to the climax though, soon enough.

“Jacob Ephraim Black, do you take Centhua Maria Rodriguez, to be your lawfully wedded wife?” Carlisle recited. Jacob stared into my eyes without any hesitation before responding, “I do.”

I took the crystal, silver colored ring Anthony presented, and placed it on his finger. It was the same material as my engagement ring, and wouldn’t burn me or the other wolves. It looked like silver, but it was only colored glass with real diamond studs. Unique.

“And Centhua Maria Rodriguez, do you, take Jacob Ephraim Black, to be your lawfully wedded husband?”

I smiled, “I do,” I swore, and Jacob slipped the marriage ring onto my finger. I wanted to kiss him. I wanted to kiss him now, but something had to come first.

“The couple has written their vows,” Carlisle said, gesturing to Jacob to go first. He smiled, holding my hands tighter while a blush started to spread across my face.

“Centhua, I love you more than words can even begin to describe. You mean more to me than anything and I will do anything for you to be happy, and to please you. I want to go to sleep with you in my arms, and wake up to see your beautiful brown eyes looking into mine and your gorgeous smile. You are my world and I want to spend my forever with you.”

He finished and I heard Kim ‘Aww’ in the background along with some of the others. I blushed so deep I was sure he could see it where my face was buried behind the lacy veil.

I’m not gonna cry, I’m not gonna cry…

“Jacob, I love you and I know I don’t deserve you, but I will do anything I have to in order to prove it. There isn’t anyone who I’d rather spend the rest of my life with. You’ve been there for me for everything and I’ll love you as long as I live, and much longer. You’re everything I’ve ever needed and I promise to be whatever you need from me.”

Jacob smiled even brighter, his eyes brimming while my heart started accelerating again. Carlisle smiled, but I didn’t see him.

“I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may kiss the bride,” he uttered. I blinked in surprise when Jacob finally lifted my veil, cradling my face in his hands before he kissed me.

Cheers rang out, but I barely noticed, throwing my arms around his neck and pulling him closer to me. He ran his tongue along my bottom lip, but I denied him entry because we had an audience, biting gently on his lip instead. He frowned for a second, but the second we pulled away he broke into a smile, more applause ringing out.

Two howls pierced the night, and I saw my 'brothers' were missing from the crowd. I laughed to myself, and Jacob grinned at me before pecking my lips lightly.

Jake and I were now together forever.

XxX

The end of the wedding led to the reception at the Cullen’s.

It was decorated less flashily than for Edward’s wedding, but it was perfect for me. Jacob and I rode together while Anthony came with us, playing with my hair that had been released from it’s temporary braid.

I couldn’t stop smiling, and Jake had refused to let go of me since I was declared as Mrs. Black.

I loved saying that.

We had a good time for a while, just socializing while other people danced. Anthony sat on my lap while I sat by Jacob and he whispered nothings into my hair.

A few hours passed though, and soon we were forced to participate.

We were feeding each other cake, when were ambushed. Thinking they were sneaky, Bella and Embry basically attacked us with baked goods.

As soon as Bella shoved cake at Jacob, and I saw Embry lunged for me I made my head intangible. His hand passed through me and got Kim while she laughed and squealed. Charlie looked a little surprised at that, since he changed color but Sue calmed him down.

Jacob, feeling disgruntled, grabbed my waist before pulling me into a kiss. I could taste the cake on his lips.

Giggling and laughing, I helped wipe the cake off Jacob’s face while he did mine after pulling away.

We were forced to separate eventually though, since everyone wanted their turn to dance with the happy couple, despite my silent complaints. I was relieved when finishing a dance with Edward while Jacob cut in.

I giggled as he spun me around, and Bella took my place with Edward. I couldn’t help but think she was the reason I was here right now. If she and I hadnt gotten into that fight over his safety, way back when, I never would’ve realized Jake was a wolf, and I never would’ve followed my heart and fell for him.

“Since when do you dance,” I mumbled into his shoulder. He chuckled and kissed my neck “Since Bree recruited Kim to teach me.” He said chuckling, making me laugh again. The song finished and I stood on my tip toes to kiss him while flashes went off.

K-9 came up behind me when another song didn’t come on and I eyed him suspiciously. Crusher was behind him, grinning just as wide.

“Time for the garter toss,” he said, smirking while K-9 pulled me away from Jake slightly. I glared at the both of them, and then looked wide eyed at Jake who was grinning from ear to ear.

"Don't even think about it," i hissed, but he chuckled, kissing me quickly with a smirk still on his lips. "Too late."

Everyone was watching while K-9 sat me back in the nearest chair and I put my hand over my face to hide my blushing.I was going to kill the guys' for this.

Jacob chuckled, removing my palms and kissing me quickly before grinning again and ducking under my skirt.

He kissed his way up my leg, running his tongue along and biting the skin in some spaces before grabbing the frothy white garter in his teeth and tugging it down my thigh. I blushed when he reappeared and the guys spread out when he flung it at them over his shoulder. It landed in Ammo’s surprised hands while he laughed good-naturedly and rolled his eyes.

I was beet red at this point and groaned to myself.

Jake laughed at my reaction, grabbing my hand to pull me up while also leaning down to whisper in my ear “Your turn,” with a smirk. I rolled my eyes and tossed my bouquet right a Bree, who stared down at it with so much shock it was funny.

It was a great day, dancing and laughing and teasing but it had to end sometime when Jake and I were ushered into his Alfa while a rice storm began. We were taking our honeymoon for a week while Ant stayed over Leah’s again.

It was a surprise, like Bella’s had been, but I knew it wasn’t the island.

Alice had forced me into some tiny black dress and sandals while Jake changed too. We kissed Anthony goodbye, then hugged and kissed everyone else before promising to be back soon, then we were gone.

Jake drove us to the airport where we caught the first of many flights for the night.

XxX

And so it turns out my surprise was actually was the Cullen’s private beach house in the Bahamas.

We flew for a while before catching our last flight in Florida and arriving on the tropical sand trap. It was probably one of the only one of the Cullen’s homes I hadnt known existed, although there were otehrs scattered around also.

Jacob got us a cab with a driver who luckily for us, spoke English, and we drove to the northern part of the island, to a place that was practically deserted.

I had wondered briefly why the Cullens even had an house in a place as sunny as this, but the area was pretty desolate so they could most likely walk down the beach without notice.

We got out at the same time, while Jake paid the guy and he drove away.

Before I could even take a step, I was in the air and Jacob’s big arm was wrapped around me in a death grip holding me bridal style. His other hand was holding the small suitcases with our belongings and such.

He smirked down at me and I playfully slapped his chest. “A little warning might’ve been nice.” I pouted, but he only laughed while walking us towards the house.

“I like holding you in my arms,” he argued. I rolled my eyes; I knew that.

I muttered something unintelligible and he kissed my forehead. With all the time we spent flying, and the time difference, it was sunset here.

“I love you Mrs. Black.” He whispered in my ear when we walked up the main porch. I smiled at the sound of my new name and he unlocked the door, leading me to the first room with a bed he found. “I love you too Jake.”

And with that we started our own version of a celebration.
