Someone's Precious

Thoughts

Scott was driving the car with Professor Xavier sitting in the passenger seat. The girl had curled up next to Logan, her head resting in his lap. It was odd for him to have someone this close to him. He wasn’t used to it to say the least. He didn’t mind it though. In some ways, he understood this girl. He probably would be one of the few people at the mansion who would be able to. It was just another reason for him to stick around a little longer than he had planned to. On some levels, he wandered if Xavier had planned that. It would be like the psychic to do something like that. Some would have liked to give him the benefit of the doubt but Logan had never been so generous. He had long since learned that living in suspicion of everyone else was far safer than even considering trusting those who asked for it. It also kept you alive longer.

Not that Logan was exactly easy to kill….

His eyes drifted down to the tiny female that seemed to cling to him. It was actually kind of pathetic how tiny she looked. It seemed unnatural to Logan at best. He shook his head trying to dispel the thought. It wasn’t one that he wanted to dwell on ever. Logan hugged the girl to him as he watched the scenery fly by. It seemed to Scott wanted to be out of there almost as bad as Logan did. Almost but not nearly close enough. Part of him just wanted to give the girl into Rogue’s care and be done with it. But he knew that he couldn’t do that. This girl needed someone who could touch her. Someone who could protect her. Someone who could show her that she was actually worth something. No one but the Professor seemed to want to and that was something that Logan couldn’t allow to continue.

The Jet seemed to appear out of nowhere as the clearing opened before them. Nightcrawler was waiting for them to return having taken Hank McCoy’s place as their pilot for the time being. The little blue demon stood at the open hatch waiting for them with a big grin on his face. Scott stopped the car and was popping out almost before he had even turned the thing off properly. “Get inside Nightcrawler we’re leaving!” Scott snapped.

Logan rolled his eyes as he opened the door and managed to climb out while never actually letting go of the girl who had wrapped twig thin legs around his waist. One of his hands splayed itself against the small of her back. He could feel the vertebrae of her spine stabbing his hand and his anger flared back up for a moment. NIghtcrawler ignored Scott and turned his attention to Logan as the other male moved towards him and the jet. “She’s so tiny…” he said wistfully.

“We’re gonna take care of that,” Logan promised with a nod. The girl turned her head to look at Kurt, her jaw dropping as she watched him in something like wonder. “Sie sind ein Dämon auch?“ she asked staring at the other man in wonder.

Kurt chuckled softly and shook his head. “Nein, nein. Ich bin nur ein Mensch.” Logan arched an eyebrow before shaking his head. He had a feeling it simply wasn’t worth asking about.

“Let’s get her on board,” he insisted. “I don’t want to stay in this damn place any longer than I have to,” he growled as he moved up onto the plane. This was probably one of the few times that he and Scott Summers would ever agree on anything and Logan wanted to keep it that way.

Alright so a chapter that needed to come this was more of a filler honestly to get people places.

The German phrases translate to Are you a demon too? and No, no. I am just a man.
