Still Causing Trouble

Talking

Tilly’s pov
Jesse and I laid on my mom’s old car, Rocky’s hood. I could still remember how she used to brag about how awesome this car was to everyone, and how she used to tell me she would teach me to drive one day. Too bad that never happened.

“Do you think about her a lot?” Jesse asked, handing me a gummy worm out of the candy bag he had.

I nodded, “Yeah, I always do.”

Jesse nodded, “I miss her too, she was a nice lady.”

I laughed about how Jesse used to always hit on my mom by using his lame pick up lines when she’d come to the junk yard. My mom was the only one who had previously met Jesse.

“Damn girl do you know karate?” Jesse asked.

I laughed and took a bite of the gummy worm, letting him finish his pick up line.

“Cause your body’s kickin’!” He laughed and shoved a handful of the gummy worms into his open mouth.

“You’re such a tard.” I giggled and leaned against him.

“Hey do you remember that song we used to sing, back in sixth grade?” He asked randomly.

I smiled and nodded.

Then we both began singing,

"abc hit it
that's the way uh huh uh huh i like it uh huh uh huh
that's the way uh huh uh huh i like it uh huh uh huh
you got your ways i got mine
so peace punch in your face
brick wall waterfall
girl you think you know it all
you don't
i do
so poof with the attitude
poof be gone your breath is mighty strong
not to be mean but you need some listerine
wait come back you need a tic tac
not a tic not a tac
but the whole dang pack..
..the sun i swear is bleaching out my golden hair
my make up is smearing
i think i lost an earring
24 36
i don't know the stupid score
so rah rah fight fight
Gee i hope i look alright!"

We went into hysterics when we finished. I yawned slightly as the sun was high in the sky.

“Do you ever wish you could, like go back in time?” Jesse questioned.

I nodded, “All the time.”

“We should become time travelers then we can go back and fight dinosaurs!” He yelled pumping his fist in the air.

I joined in on the fist pumping then slid off the hood and into Rocky. The interior was exactly the same, and I knew that’s just the way my mom would have wanted it.

“Damn, this ride is fly.” Jesse marveled at Rocky.

I smiled wide, “Wanna go for a ride?”
