Does Love Still Exist?

Chapter 6

Looking at Marc, Katrina felt the tears in her eyes as her fingers touched her lips. There had been times when things were rough with Hank that she had thought about how different things could be if she were with Marc, but she never did anything with those thoughts. Hank was her husband and even though he cheated and continuously stood up for that woman, Katrina knew she couldn't do that to him. Hank and Marc were teammates and if she did that to them, she wouldn't be able to face herself. Everything would just become more complicated than necessary, just like it was at the moment. “Marc...I-”

“I'm sorry Katrina,” Marc said running a hand through his hair. “I shouldn't have done that.”

“Sometimes I would wonder what could have been if I had made different choices,” she told him.

“But you didn't. I know. You don't need to say it.”

Kissing the top of her head, Marc moved past her and headed towards the door. Running her hand through her hair, Katrina walked into her closet and grabbed the shirt that she had taken from Hank when they were dating. Surprisingly it still fit her, even after having two kids. Taking off her clothes, she put on the shirt and grabbed a pair of black pajama pants before turning out the light and heading towards the door of her room. Walking towards Noah's room, Katrina peered inside where he was fast asleep. Walking to Kristopher's room, she cracked it open and saw him fast asleep with the New York Rangers blanket his father got for him.

With a long sigh, she walked back to her bedroom. Going to the lawyers was going to make her exhausted. Crawling into her bed, Katrina placed her phone on her nightstand before closing her eyes.

Sitting in her lawyer's office on a Wednesday afternoon was not what Katrina had planned, well not for as long as she had been there. She was so grateful that her teammate Abby had offered to watch them for her. Originally she had planned to ask Marc, but she just figured that it wasn't the best idea at the time and she didn't want to talk to Hank about it. She knew he would fight her tooth and nail about this, but it needed to happen. She wasn't going to stay married to him any longer and filing the paperwork was the step in the right direction.

“So, Mrs. Lundqvist what is the reasoning behind your wanting of a divorce from your husband?”

Looking at the man with light brown eyes and dark brown hair, Katrina ran her thumb over her engagement ring. “He's been unfaithful.”

Blinking back the tears she could feel coming, Katrina looked at the man across the table from her.

“I should tell you, Mrs. Lundqvist, that your claim of infidelity, should you go through with it will become public,” he said. “Very public.”

“Are you saying that I shouldn't put that on there?” she asked. “Because he's in the public eye?”

“I'm just letting you know,” he told her. “If you want your privacy on this matter I would suggest filing irreconcilable differences. However, if you pick the later, you should know that it will be much easier for your husband to contest you on this matter.”

“I guess I'll have to think about that then.”

“Tell me about your husband.”

“He's the goalie for the New York Rangers and I can't trust him.”

“Is this the first time he's been unfaithful to you?”

“Since we've been married, yes. Before I got pregnant with our first son, he had cheated before. When he found out that I was pregnant, he wanted to change and he did for awhile. But before that, he had his share of women. Is that what you wanted to know?”

“So you knew about his infidelity before you married him?”

Knowing how bad that sounded, Katrina didn't say anything but nodded her head.

“And since you've been married, how many times has this happened?”

“Once that I know of.”

“So there could be more?”

“Yes, possibly,” she said. “But I only know of the one.”

“I'm sorry to have to ask you this, Katrina, but have you been faithful in your marriage?”

“Yes, I have.”

“Are you sure? Because if you haven't these things have a way of coming to the surface.”

Letting out a deep breath, Katrina thought about the past. The only man she had been with since she got married was her husband. There was no point in sleeping with any other man since she had been in love with the man. “My friend, Hank and my friend, he kissed me.”

“Is that the reason you want a divorce?”

“No!” Katrina said watching as her lawyer leaned back into his chair.

“So there is nothing going on between you and this friend?” he questioned her. “Nothing besides the kiss?”

“No, nothing at all.”

“And this friend, is he more your friend or Mr. Lundqvist's friend?”

“My husband's,” Katrina said running her hand through her hair. “They were already friends when I met Hank.”

“Okay,” he said “And do the two of you still live together?”

“No,” Katrina said. “Hank moved out over the summer. He's been living with some of his teammates while the kids live with me in the house.”

“How is he with the kids?”

“Hank is a good father to his sons,” she said. “They adore him and he loves them a lot.”

“And how is he towards you?” he asked.

“I don't understand.”

“Has he ever been forceful to you or the children? Has he ever laid a hand on you or them before?”

“No,” Katrina said forcefully. “Hank might have cheated, but he never hit me or the children. He loves them too much.”

“And you?”

“He's never hit me,” she told him. “He would never do such a thing.”

“And how many children are there?”

“Two. Two boys.”

“And how old are the boys?”

“Noah is almost four and Kristopher is fourteen months.”

“What would you like out of the divorce?”

“I want my car and the house.”

“Any reasons?” he asked.

“I bought the car and I want the house so I can make sure that the boys don't get overwhelmed by moving around. I want to keep them in the same house if I can.”

“I understand,” he said. “And how about custody?”

“I want my sons to live with me. I think he does deserve some time with them so I think he should get to see them, but not whenever he wants. I don't want him dropping in whenever he wants.”

“So you are open to visitation?”

“Yes, I think that it would good for the kids to have their father in their lives.”

Leaving her lawyer's office, Katrina slipped into her car. Taking out her cell phone, she called Abby to check in on her boys. After talking for a few minutes, Abby told her not to come by for a bit yet since the boys had just sat down together to watch a movie. So instead of going to pick up her sons, Katrina decided that she'd go home and enjoy a nice and long bath. With a small smile on her face, she started her car. She needed the time to unwind from all the stress.

As the water coated her skin and cleaned the hurt of losing her husband from her body, Katrina couldn't help but remember the times Hank would sneak in the shower with her. He'd wash her hair and her body. He'd kiss her softly at first but soon their bodies would take over and he'd make love to her.

She could remember him wrapped around her, and hard inside her as the water enveloped them together.

She missed that. The way he made her feel, the way he made love to her. She missed Hank in so many ways and sexually was one of them. What she didn't miss was his relationship with Caitlin.

Quickly turning off the water so she would stop fantasizing about the man who was about to become her ex-husband.

As she strolled into her bedroom covered in merely a towel, as if a gift from the gods or a terrible omen, her husband sat on the bed grinning from ear to ear. Quickly deciding to act unaffected by his presence, Katrina merely acknowledged him with a simple hello, and walked to her closet to pick out clothes. With her back to him, she could feel his eyes on her. She shouldn't want that, but right that second she wanted it more than anything.

Feeling the familiar touch of his hand on her shoulder, Katrina turned around and found herself staring into a familiar pair of blue eyes. The feeling of his lips at the corner of her mouth before moving to hover over hers, Katrina couldn't hold the urge in and she wrapped her arms around his neck before kissing him. When air become necessary their lips detached from one another and Katrina let go of him. “Hank, I-”

Kissing her into silence, Hank drew his wife's body into his own before leaving her lips for her neck, which had always been a sensitive spot for her.

Gasping as she felt Hank's hand under her towel. Closing her eyes, she let out a loud sigh. “Hank, please.”

Bending slightly, Hank literally swept her off her feet and carried her to the bed. Their bed, their bed that they hadn't shared in what seemed like years. Placing her on the bed, he took off his shoes and socks before crawling on top of her before going after her neck once again. Grabbing onto his shirt, Katrina yanked it up and off his body before his lips met hers in a kiss that would make anyone go weak in the knees. Feeling the movement of his hand, she felt the tug on the towel that was hiding her body from him. As soon as he had gotten the towel off his wife, he couldn't help but take his time in taking her in her body. She was just as beautiful as the day they had met in the elevator when she had no clue as to who he was.

“Hank...”

Snapping out of his thoughts, Hank gave her the smirk that she had seen many times before. The one to let her know that he was happy with what he saw. Lowering his head, he took one of her breasts into his mouth, letting his tongue tease her nipple, while his thumb played with the one his hand was cupping. Biting down her lip, Katrina noticed he had the chain around his neck, so with a soft tug she brought him back up to her lips where he continued his assault on her body. With her hand, Katrina placed it on the outside of his jeans. There was no doubt he wouldn't be able to last too much longer, so she went to work on disposing him of the last of his clothes.

Feeling how hard he was as he rubbed himself over her folds, Katrina couldn't wait any longer to feel him inside of her. Placing the head of his cock at her entrance, Hank took that as a sign that she didn't want to wait any longer, which was a good thing for him since he didn't want to wait any longer as well. Letting out a loud moan, Katrina had temporarily forgotten what it was like to have him inside her. It felt amazing, especially when he started moving at a faster pace.

Katrina had reached her climax twice before he finally came as well. But he stayed inside of her with his cock still hard. Once he saw her grin, Hank started thrusting in and out of her. No words were spoken, but as soon as it had ended, both Katrina and Hank collapsed onto the bed.

“I almost forgot what it was like to feel like that.”

“We never had a problem with that, Kitty,” Hank told her as he moved some of her hair so he could kiss her shoulder. “I've missed this, I've missed you.”

“Hank...”

“I want to give us another chance,” Hank told her. “Not just for the boys, but for us as well. I love you Kitty.”

“I can't Hank,” Katrina told him as she got out of the bed. Grabbing the robe that was next to the bed, she pulled it on her naked body before she looked at him. “You have hurt me too many times Hank.”

“I made a mistake with her, but I’m done with her, Kitty.”

“I wish I could believe you,” she told him as she felt the tears start falling from her eyes. “I have more than just me to think about now.”

“Noah and Kristopher deserve to have their father around.”

“They do,” Katrina agreed, “But I won't have the man who helped create them, the one that cheated on their mother living in the same house as them. Or married to me anymore.”

“The divorce thing again?” Hank asked. “Please Kitty...”

“I went to my lawyer today to start the paperwork,” Katrina told him. “I'm divorcing you.”
