Lust for Blood

Friend of Hagrid

As we were walking through the forest I could see the spiders on the floor as clear as day because of my sharp eyesight, I was leading the boys in the right direction.

“Mei… maybe it would be better if you stayed behind me, I mean I’ve got the light, you could see where you are going better,” Harry suggested,
“My eyesight is better then most peoples,” I explained,
“Yea, your eyes are a funny colour…” Ronald spoke,
“Just like my fathers he’s a…” I stopped myself from talking,
“He’s a what?” Harry asked, I frowned and bit my lip.

They needed to know… For all we’ve been through in this first year… and with what is coming.

Right…

“Please… don’t tell anybody about this,” I started, Ronald and Harry both nodded.
“My father is a vampire…” I spoke and quickly bowed my head down to hide my worried face. Harry’s eyes widened and Ronald’s mouth opened in shock,
“A vampire? How are you a witch then?” Ronald asked,
“My mother… she used to come here. I’m half witch… half vampire…” I finished and closed my eyes ready for the angry shouts and the sharp comments.

Nothing came.

“Wicked.” Ronald spoke; I opened my eyes and looked at him confused,
“I just tell you I’m a vampire and all you say is ‘wicked’?” I asked in shock,
“But… don’t vampires…” Harry started,
“Feed on blood?” I asked with my right eyebrow raised, Harry nodded, “Yes… but I’m what you could call a vegetarian… I drink animal blood… not human blood… I refuse to do such a horrid thing.” I explained turning around, “Shall we keep moving?” I asked, Harry and Ronald nodded as we continued through the thick forest.

That went a hell of a lot better then I expected…

“Harry, I don’t like this.” Ronald spoke, I rolled my eyes and walked beside Fang, “Harry, I don’t like this at all.” Ronald added,
“Shush!” Harry snapped as I found an opening,
“Here,” I spoke watching all the spiders crawl in the entrance down the tunnel.

“Can we go back now?” Ronald’s pitch was higher then a baby’s cry. I stood up and looked at Ronald blankly,
“You’ve got a halfa here Ronald… I can protect you from the spiders…” I spoke with my hands on my hips, Ronald nodded and shifted closer to me, “Baby…” I muttered and walked in with Harry,
“Come on.” Harry spoke.

We continued through the tunnel and out into a new opening, huge trees covered the area with cobwebs filling the air thickly. I followed Harry to the end. I grabbed Harry’s shirt,
“There’s something coming big,” I whispered as we all heard movement ahead.

“Who is it?” a voice called.

“Don’t panic.” Harry whispered, Ronald stood next to him as I held onto Harry’s shirt.

“Hagrid? Is that you?” the voice called,
“We’re friends of Hagrid’s.” Harry replied.

A long spider leg appeared, and then another in front of that one until a spider five times bigger then us appeared in the opening.
“And you? You’re Aragog, aren’t you?” Harry asked,
“Yes.” The old spider replied, “Hagrid has never sent men into our hollow before.” Aragog replied.
“He’s in trouble. Up at the school, there have been attacks. They think its Hagrid. That think he opened the Chamber of Secrets. Like before.” Harry explained,
“That’s a lie. Hagrid never opened the Chamber of Secrets.” Aragog explained,
“Then you’re not the monster?” Harry asked,
“No. The monster was born in the castle. I came to Hagrid from a distant land in the pocket of a traveler.” Aragog spoke.

“Harry.” Ronald pulled on his sleeve his face was showing fear clearly.
“Shush,” Harry replied and looked back at Aragog,
“But if you’re not the monster, then what did kill that girl 50 years ago?” Harry asked, I walked around to Ronald as he looked at me with worry plastered on his face.
“We do not speak of it. It is an ancient creature we spiders fear above all others.” Aragog explained,
“But have you seen it?” Harry asked, wanting more answers. Ronald looked up I did the same to only be in complete shock.
“I never saw any part of the castle but the box in which Hagrid kept me. The girl was discovered in a bathroom. When I was accused, Hagrid brought me here.” Aragog explained.

Hundreds of spiders were making their way slowly down towards us,
“Harry!” Ronald spoke again,
“What?” Harry snapped, Ronald pointed up to the sky Harry followed his gaze and saw the spiders.

“Well, thank you. We’ll just go.” Harry spoke, Ronald nodded as we slowly started stepping backwards,
“Go? I think not. My sons and daughters do not harm Hagrid on my command. But I cannot deny them fresh meat when it wanders so willingly into our midst. Goodbye, friend of Hagrid.” Aragog spoke. The spiders surrounded us.

When did I sign up for this?

“Can we panic now?” Ronald asked,
“I think it would be a waste of time,” I replied. Harry smacked one of the spiders with the lamp. We moved standing back to back we got our wands out looking at the spiders.

“Know any spells?” Ronald asked,
“One, but it’s not powerful enough for all of them.” Harry spoke,
“Well it’s the best shot we’ve got,” I replied.

Lights appeared out of nowhere from behind. I looked back to see a car drive through the spiders and stop in front of us. The doors opened,
“Let’s go!” Harry spoke, I ran into the back seat quickly as Fang jumped in too.

Arania Exumai!” Harry casted a spell pushing the spider back as he jumped in closing the car door.

“Go! Drive!” I yelled as Ronald put the car into reverse. We flew out of the entrance backwards and landed sharply.

I sighed and put my forehead on the back of Harry’s seat.
“Glad we’re out of there.” Ronald spoke,
“Ditto…” I spoke, a bang on the car door and a spider appeared at the window grabbing onto Ronald who was screaming his head off. Ronald moved to his left when Harry pulled his wand out,
Arania Exumai!” he spoke and the spider went flying backwards.

I sighed again and closed my eyes,
“Thanks for that.” Ronald spoke,
“Don’t mention it.” Harry replied.

We all looked over the entrance in front of us and saw many spiders come into view,
“You’ve got to be kidding me,” I spoke bluntly, Ronald whimpered,
“Get us out of here. Now!” Harry yelled as Ronald put the car into reverse.
“Come on!” I yelled looking behind then at the spiders chasing after us,
“Move faster!” Harry yelled as the car suddenly spun around. We all screamed until it stopped, “Come on! Go!” Harry yelled again, I looked out the back window. Hundreds of spiders were behind us.

“Get us in the air.” Harry spoke, I heard the grinding of gears and a sharp noise,
“The flying gear’s jammed!” Ronald yelled.

Harry and Ronald both grabbed onto the gearstick,
“Come on, pull!” Harry yelled,
“I’m trying!” Ronald replied, the gearstick finally kicked off and we were in the air.

I sighed and leaned my head back. That was until we crash-landed in front of Hagrid’s house.

We all got out the car and Ronald started complaining,
Follow the spiders, follow the spiders.’ If Hagrid ever gets out of Azkaban, I’ll kill him.” Ronald yelled. The car started up again, slowly reversed then return to the woods, a confused frown was upon my face as I point after it, “I mean, what was the point of sending us in there? What have we found out?” Ronald asked,
“We know one thing. Hagrid never opened the Chamber of Secrets. He was innocent.” Harry replied.

“We did also find out that Mei is part vampire,” Ronald added, I closed my eyes,
“You don’t hate me do you?” I looked at them both,
“How could we hate you? You’ve stuck up for Hermione so many times, its not what you are, its who you are,” Harry spoke, I smiled a little.

“Thank you.”
