Lust for Blood

Blood Rush

As I sat with Ronald and Hermione reading books in a small open area with the clouds above us, I thought about something,
“Where is Harry?” I asked,
“He’s gone to practice Quidditch with the rest of the Gryffindor team,” Ronald explained,
“What part does he play in it?” I asked,
“He’s the Seeker,” Hermione looked at me, I smiled and looked back at my book.

Then I realised something else,
“That’s good for a second year isn’t it?” I asked,
“Yes, he was admitted into the team in our first year, he is the youngest Seeker to ever be accepted onto the team,” Hermione explained,
“He’s got to be really good then hasn’t he?” I asked, Hermione nodded as I saw a group of people wearing red walk through the corridor in front of us. I saw Harry at the front with another person who looked to be much older. I guessed he was the team captain.

I saw another team dressed in the same type robe but obviously from Slytherin house as they were wearing green and silver.
“I smell trouble.” Ronald spoke, we all got up and walked over to them.

“You’ve got a new Seeker. Who?” the captain of Gryffindor spoke, I looked at the front and saw Draco Malfoy step forward. Hermione told me that Draco had it out for Harry ever since they arrived at school last year,
“Malfoy?” Harry spoke looking shocked,
“That’s right. And that’s not all that’s new this year.” Draco pushed his broom in front of him.
“Those are Nimbus 2001s. How did you get those?” Ronald asked,
“A gift from Draco’s father.” The Slytherin captain smirked,
“You see, Weasley, unlike some, my father can afford the best.” Draco smirked, I hated him already, I could smell his foul blood from where I was standing.

“At least no one on the Gryffindor team have to buy their way in. they got in on pure talent.” Hermione smirked Draco stepped forward in front of her holding a nasty glare in his eyes,
“No one asked your opinion, you filthy little Mudblood.” Draco smirked, my eyes burned with rage hearing that name, my mother was a born from Non-magic parents.

“You’ll pay for that one, Malfoy. Eat slugs!” Ronald pulled out his wand, but the spell backfired sending him about 7 feet backwards. The Slytherin team laughed as Harry and the Gryffindor team ran over to him, I stood in front of Draco giving him a menacing glare which I could see scared him a little, they backed off after that and I saw the others take Ronald away.

I went chasing after them a bit faster then I should of because Professor McGonagall stood in my way,
“Please… don’t run that fast Miss. Skylar. Remember, you’re not like others in this school,” she spoke,
“Yes, Professor McGonagall. Sorry, Professor McGonagall,” I bowed my head down and held both of my hands, “I’ve also got something for you,” she added, I looked at her shocked as she began to walk off.

I followed the Professor to her classroom,
“Wait here,” she spoke and waked into her office. I waited patiently rocking backwards and forwards on me feet humming to myself.

A while later Professor McGonagall returned from the room and held a small brown bag.
“Your mother sent them to me knowing by now you were probably on your last few,” Professor McGonagall handed me the bag and smiled at me briefly,
“Thank you,” I spoke and taken it from her and looked inside to see my special sweets.
“That is all,” the Professor spoke; I nodded and walked off smelling the scent of blood in the bag.

I stopped and quickly put the bag in my pocket when I saw Harry and Hermione walking towards me,
“How is Ronald?” I asked,
“He’s ok, at the hospital wing until it stops but he keeps vomiting up slugs every few seconds,” Harry explained, my face looked disgusted as Hermione’s did the same. I briefly grabbed her cloak,
“Are you ok?” I asked nodding at Hermione, she nodded in return then suddenly hugged me.

I froze, my jaw locked in place, my eyes were stuck looking ahead of me as Hermione held me for those brief few seconds. I could feel her blood rush through her veins, being pumped at speeds I hated to feel; I thought about something else as I quickly returned the hug and patted Hermione’s back.

Hermione stepped back as I quickly smiled at her, she looked at me weirdly for a moment then smiled too.

“Back to the common room?” I suggested,
“Sure,” Harry nodded, Hermione agreed and we went back to the common room.

Though… Hermione kept looking at me strangely…

Like she knew something.
