Chapter Tre. Three. 3. 3rd. .

Jasey’s Point Of View:

My date with Alex was interesting to say the least. I figured his idea of a date was a simple restaurant date or a movie. The stream was such a pretty place. I loved every minute of it.

FROM: Alex Gaskarth
Haha, Alright, I’m definitely excited. See you tomorrow Night!
I thought about where I was going to take Alex. I wanted to top his stream idea, but I also wanted something he’d never done before, but I couldn't think of much. I had a few days though, so I knew I’d eventually figure something out.
[----------------------------------]
Thursday night came and I had the PERFECT place to go with Alex. I decided I would take him to the down town aquarium and we would swim in the tank for a while, you could swim with almost any fish imaginable. I was almost positive Alex hadn’t done this before. Well, I hoped not, because if he had, I mean the night wouldn’t be ruined, but it’d still suck, because his date was hard to top.
I had a good feeling about it though.
[------------------------------------]
“You ready?” I asked Alex as he walked up to my car.
“Yes ma’am.” He smiled. “So where are we going?”
“You’ll see, and here’s this.” I said, giving him a bright pink scarf.
“Your seriously making me wear this? Don’t you have a bandana?”
“Yes.”
“Can’t I wear that?”
“Nope.” I giggled. “Now get in the car, we gotta go, our reservations are at 5:15.”
“Oh, so we’re going to dinner?” He frowned. “You told me to eat.”
“Not Dinner, something else. No more questions!”
We drove to the aquarium in mostly silence and I periodically looked over at Alex to see what he was doing, or just to look at him.
Eventually we got to the building as the car came to a stop.
“We’re here.”
“It smells weird.”
“Get over it.” I laughed, and I went to get him out of his seat.
“Can I take the blindfold off yet?”
“Almost, when we get inside.”
I walked Alex into the small room where a lady was working at a desk. On one wall was children’s drawings of sea creatures. Another wall was the lady’s desk, and one wall was the entry way. The last wall was a big piece of glass that had the aquarium behind it. It was amazing.
I took Alex right up to the tank, and turned his back towards the aquarium. I then told him he could take the blindfold off.
“We’re at a doctor’s office?” he asked, confused.
“No Silly, look around.”
He looked around, not bothering to turn around.
“Nothing special.”
I turned his back for him.
“Oh, that.” He said, shyly.
“Yes, we’re going to swim in there today.” I beamed.
“Are you fucking serious? I’ve always wanted to do that kind of thing, but my mom would never let me! Oh my fucking god.”
“Glad your exicted.” I smiled, and walked up to the counter.
“Jasey Rae for two at 5:15.” I said to the woman working the desk.
The woman checked us in and we got started. I admit, I was a little scared to be swimming with sharks and sting rays, but I was confident Alex would be my ‘knight in shining armor’ or so he told me. I laughed at this.
“What?” he asked.
“Let’s just go Lexy.”
“Lexy? Where’d that come from?”
“Well,” I began. “I decided it would be your nickname. Therefore, it is now Lexy.”
“Alrighty then.” He laughed.
[----]
We were swimming around and avoiding the sharks because I was too scared to go by one. We couldn't really talk or the salt water would get in our mouths, but I still got some in my mouth because I could not stop smiling. Whenever a fish bushed past me, or even looking at Alex, I smiled. The smile never lasted long though, because as soon as I’d smile, the water would get in my mouth, and I’d make a face, causing Alex to smile, and well, it was a cycle, a bad tasting, but enjoyable cycle.
He grabbed my hand and pulled me up to the surface.
“Alright, can we go by one shark before we leave?”
My eyes widened.
“I’ll stick by you the whole entire time, and if a shark tries to hurt you, I won’t let him.” He gives me a reassuring smile.
“Lexy, as much as I enjoy the chivalry, if a shark comes to attack, there’s no way in hell you could stop him, but I guess. Come on.” I smiled and wink before I go back under the water, towards the sharks.
My grip on Alex’s hand tightened and he noticed, so he squeezed my hand, signaling me that it would be okay. I hated sharks, and I didn’t even want to go by them, god I must really like this boy.
As we neared, I mostly had to have Alex pull me along. We got within about a foot of one, and I started to back away and Alex pulled me close to his side he looked at me, and I couldn't help but trust him. I turned back to the sharks and stared at them. They barely even noticed we were there. I started to calm down some more when a bigger shark swam right next to me, brushing up against my side. I let out a yelp and swam and hugged Alex’s side. He smiled and took me back over to the fish and we swam up.
“See, it wasn’t that bad.”
“I was scared shitless dude!”
“I was there with you, nothing was going to happen.”
I couldn't help but laugh.
“What?” he asked, smiling.
“You can’t promise anything with sharks honey.” I said. “Now let’s go get some food, because I’m starving.”
“Same here.” He said, “And Jasey?” he said as I was swimming to the exit.
“Yeah?” I asked swimming back.
“I had a great time tonight, thank you.” He smiled shyly.
“I’m glad you had a good time, I did too.” I said, and I kissed his cheek, and smiled, but I swam back to the exit before I could see his reaction.
