Falling To Pieces

I walked into the super market with Azalia. I still hadn't gotten a response back from Shilo.

I put Azalia in the cart and started looking for some stuff on the list. I sighed as my cart made contact with something, or rather, someone.

"Oh my gosh!" I gasped, stopping the cart. "I'm so sorry!" I quickly helped him stand up straight. He smiled.

"Don't worry about it. You didn't hit me hard." He said, assuring me. I sighed.

"I should have been watching where I was going." I said, pushing my hair back. He chuckled.

"I'm fine." He insisted. "I'm Nathan." He extended his hand. I smiled and shook it.

"Olivia." I said. He looked over.

"Who's this cutie? Is she your sister?" He cooed.

"My daughter actually." I said. He nodded.

"She's adorable." He smiled. I giggled.

"Thanks." I smiled.

"Mhm." He smiled then looked back at me. "So, I'm sorry to be pushy and stuff," He said. I nodded for him to continue. "but would you know anyplace that's looking for a renter?" He asked. I thought.

"Um, not really. Sorry." I said. He smiled. He had a nice smi--No.

"I actually just moved here, and I'm staying with a few friends, but I wanna get my own place." He smiled. I nodded.

"Totally understandable." I smiled. He looked around for a second.

"Would you mind if I gave you my number?" He asked. I looked at him.

"For?" I asked.

"Maybe if you hear of anything, you could let me know?" He asked. I bit my lip. "You don't have to give me your number." He assured again. "It's just incase." He smiled. I nodded.

"Okay, that's fine yeah." I smiled. He handed me a piece of paper.

"Thank you so much! You're a life saver." He smiled. I smiled.

"Don't worry about it." I smiled.

"Thanks again Olivia. I'll leave you to do your shopping." He said.

"Okay. See you around." I waved. He waved back and walked away. I smiled and put the paper in my pocket then got out my phone to called Shilo.

I called her number and waited. It rang and someone answered.

"Hello?" A womans voice answered. I paused and looked at my phone.

"Is this Shilo's phone?" I asked.

"Yes it is."

"Why didn't she answer?"

"She's in the hospital." The woman said. My mouth dropped.

"Uh oh." Azalia said.
