A Day in a Life of a Foster Parent

This is a story of what it is like to work with DYFS. My family takes in foster kids, every kid is a new lesson in life. I have learned patience, what life is like outside of these 4 walls of my sheltered life. I have learned to love, to love even when all i want to do is scream. I have learned heart break. Not the kind you get from getting dumped by your boyfriend of 2 weeks, sure that hurts, but this heartbreak is real. It actually hurts, you can feel it, this comes from losing someone you love. I will try to do a good job, but no one can ever describe how truly awsome and brave this kids are. No words can describe how much losing them hurt. No story can express how glad i am that, if only for a day, i got to be a part of their lives.
  1. J-Love
This particular girl turned 4 the day I turned 16, she was with us for a little over a month. I truly thought she would be mine forever, but God had different plans for her life.
  2. Little Brother Big Brother
Little Brother is 18 months, Big Brother is 3.
  3. J-Man
this was me trying to imagine what it would be like to be pulled away from my home. I used one of our foster kids point of view
  4. Someone Understands
I love him to death!! Don't know what I'd do or where I'd be without him. This is a conversation we actually had...helped me realize I'm not completely alone.
  5. Baby
An 11 month old beautiful baby girl that I had the pleasure of caring for, if only for a night (check out my poem I'm sorry baby. It relates)
  6. Malky
3 month old beautiful baby boy
  7. 1,2,3
What do you do when you're in over your head with 3 rambuncious fosters? Pray that God gives you strength and live by the words "I can do all things through christ who straightens me"
  8. Potito
7 year old boy. Potito means little duck in spanish.
