In Love With a Stripper

(Jynx’s POV)

I sat in the living room watching TV alone. Gerard had finally after last night let go of the extra security and he had gone to pick up my mother from the airport. I’d made the mistake of slipping up and telling her about what Jared had done. So now she was rushing back and her plane should have landed twenty minutes ago.

I stood up and grimaced. When I fell last night I’d landed on my back even after a hot bath I was still sore. I ignored the pain and went to the kitchen realizing that I was hungry.

I opened the fridge and pulled out some left over food from the night before. The diner felt responsible since they were supposed to have cleared out the place so they sent us all the food plus more to our place. It was good, but too much to eat at once. I quickly fixed myself a plate and then stuck it into the microwave.

“And what celebrity was arrested last night at a local diner? We’ll tell you after the break.” I heard the news reporter say. By the time my food was done in the microwave the show had returned from break. I rushed back into the living room and sat down on the couch.

“Last night singer/actor Jared Leto from the band 30 Seconds From Mars was arrested for stalking and assaulting singer/song writer from My Chemical Romance Gerard Way’s girlfriend. Police say Leto had been stalking Jynx Marie Macey for a long time. They met while Macey was working as a stripper at the elite club called Ruby’s. Not long ago Macey quit working at the club and police say that provoked Leto and he then assaulted the woman while she was three months pregnant,” I rolled my eyes how the hell did they get all those details. “Last night in the ladies room at a diner not far from the club. Leto again assaulted the young woman and police were able to apprehend him there. Police are still looking for his brother who they believe helped in a kidnap attempt of…” I turned off the tv. The last thing I needed was to started worrying about the other Leto. I flipped through channels until I finally decided on MTV and started eating my food.

I only moved when the bell rang soon after I settled in on the show. I go up and walked over to the door checking the pep hole, “What do you want?” I screamed through the door. It was a very tall black man with short cropped black hair. “If you have a delivery you were supposed to leave it at the gate.”

“I…There isn’t a delivery. Is that…Are you Jynx?”

“Who wants to know?”

“Jynx open the door please,” Gerard said walking up behind the man. He looked a little upset as he pushed past the man. I opened the door and let them in. Gerard was carrying a few large pieces of luggage. The man was carrying a few bags as well and as he stepped into the door he dropped them and took my hand. He started looking me up and down as though checking to see if I was okay.

“Uh who are you,” I asked trying to pull away from him. He pulled me back and wrapped his arms around me in a hug. “Gerard!”

“Look she doesn’t even know who the hell you are. You may want to introduce yourself before you start fondling her,” he said pulling me out of the man’s grip.

“I’m sorry… I…Just…I don‘t quite know what to say,” he replied. He started switching from foot to foot and looking nervous; which made me nervous.

“Maybe you should start by saying your name,” Gerard sneered. My mother finally came into the door. The man reached out his hand to take mine again and I moved to stand behind Gerard.

“Come on baby girl…it’s me. It’s your father,” I took a step back as if I could dodge the words.

“Go away.”

“No,” he said simply.

“If you don’t I’ll call security to have you removed.”

“I’ll flash my badge and they’ll leave.”

“Bull,” I said. Gerard and my mother both gave exasperated sighs.

“Come on Jynx just give him a chance to explain,” My mother said.

“I actually agree with Jynx on this one,” Gerard said. “The only reason I didn’t kick him out of the car on the way here was because I have too much respect for you Mom.”

“What do you want?” I asked trying to take my mother’s advice.

“I…I want to talk to you. To see you and make sure you’re okay,” I turned to the table by the door and picked up one of the tabloids. I didn’t know why I still had them, but I was happy I did. I ripped my picture off the front then handed it too him.

“I’m fine, mission accomplished go away,” I answered walking away.

“Jynx…” I could tell he was looking at the picture by the surprise I heard in his voice.

“God why show up now? Like you actually ever gave a damn about me and my mother. You need to just leave us both alone.”

“No,” he said firmly. My mother and Gerard just kept quiet.

“Why the change of heart now,” I asked wanting to know.

“Because I forgot about you,” he answered and I scrunched up my face.

“How the hell do you forget about your fiancée and kid,” I demanded to know.

“Okay I didn’t forget about you, I got scared. I wasn’t sure I could stick with your mother and you. I wasn’t sure I could provide for you the way you deserved. The way you are now. I mean I wouldn’t have ever been able to give you all this.”

“This wasn’t what I needed then. Hell I don’t even need this now. What I need is Gerard and my mother. My best friend and that’s all. I don’t need you. So go away,” I yelled at him again.

“Jynx.”

“Go away.” I yelled once more then I left the room and ran back to my bedroom locking the door behind me. There’s no way in hell I’m going to let him weasel his way back into my life. Not now, not ever.
