She Quenched My Thirst

I took down the deer and cracked its neck. I sunk my teeth into it and started to drink. The deer didn’t taste as good as lions but there weren’t many in the area. So I had to settle for what was here.

I didn’t feel like going up north to hunt. I stood up and wiped my mouth with the back of my hand before turning to Jasper.

“I told you I would finish first” I said smiling victoriously.

“You caught it before I did, and you rush.” He said leaning against the tree next to him. “Don’t try to dampen my mood with logic.” I said walking over and wrapping my arms around his neck.

I pulled his head down and kissed him sweetly. He smiled into the kiss and wrapped one hand around my waist. The taste of the deer's blood was still in my mouth and that made him kiss me harder.
He pulled back and I pouted. “I love you but you really need to shower.” Jasper said smiling at me.

“You know you’re not supposed to tell someone you love they stink so straight out.” I said.
“I’m sorry love but you have been hanging around wolves.” He said. I could his mood change to a slightly sourer place.

“Hey don’t be mad at the wolves they’re nice dogs.” I said protecting my other supernatural friends.

“Fine, do you want to come home and shower?” He asked.
“No, I’m not ready to go back there yet. I’ll go to Bella’s house. I haven’t seen it before, and could you ask Rosalie to bring me clothes?” I asked.
“Sure, see you soon love.” He said kissing me one last time before disappearing into the forest. I turned towards town and started running.

I got to Bella’s house pretty quickly and knocked on the door. There was the sound of someone coming down the stairs.
Bella opened the door and had wide eyes “Stella you’re here!” She almost yelled flinging herself at me.

“Yeah I am here, can I come in?” I asked hugging her back. She got off of me and opened the door wider.

“When did you get back?” She asked following me into the living room.
“I never really left, I was in La Push.” I said looking around. The house was small and cozy.

“La Push? The wolves didn’t attack you?” I shook my head.

“No, Seth is my friend and he wouldn’t let them hurt me.” I said

“Hey can I take a shower? I feel really dirty.”
“Um sure I’ll show you the bathroom.” She said going upstairs. I followed close behind her until she tripped and fell backwards. I caught her falling body and she blushed “Thanks” she muttered regaining her balance.

“No problem sweetie.” I smiled following her into the small bathroom.
“I’ll bring you a towel” Bella said leaving and closing the door behind her. I turned toward the mirror and looked at myself.

My brown hair was covered in dirt and debris from the forest. My eyes were closer to the golden color of the Cullens but they were not all the way there just yet. I quickly turned on the water and stripped down.

I hopped into the shower and washed my hair and everything else. Bella had came back and handed me a towel through the shower curtain.

I wrapped it around my body and stepped out.
“Hey Stella, Rosalie is here with clothes for you.” Bella said outside of the door. I ran out of the bathroom and into her bedroom.

Rosalie was sitting on Bella’s bed when I got into the room.
“Hey hun, I’m glad you’re here.” Rosalie said standing up and giving me the clothes. “I’ll hug you when you’re dressed” Rose said smiling.

I thanked her and changed into the clothes . I smiled and faced the two girls.
I struck a model pose and said “I’m ready for my close up.” They laughed and hugged me. “I’m glad your back, I missed you.” Rosalie said releasing me.
“Me too” Bella said letting me go as well.

“Aww I missed you guys too, come on let’s go home.” I said hopping out of Bella’s window. Rosalie followed me out but Bella had to take the long way out since she was fragile and human.

“Come on Bells” I said pulling her onto my back and running after Rosalie. I felt Bella clutching me closer and burying her head in my neck. I slowed down some and told her she could open her eyes. She saw I was still running but at a more bearably speed. She rested her head on my shoulder as everything blurred past her human eyes.

When we got back home I let Bella get off and I looked around. I heard construction noises and looked up.

Emmett was in the tree building something.
“Hi Emmett!” I yelled up at him. He looked down and smiled “Stella, you’re back. Come on up!” He said waving me up.

I sighed and leaped up grabbing hold of one of the empty branches. I pulled myself up and looked around at all the wood and tools Emmett had up here.

“Hey Em, what are you doing?” I asked hugging him.
“What does it look like I’m doing?” He asked going back to hammering wood into place. “Making a fairy castle for me to play in?” I asked.

“If you are you’re missing the pink and purple paint.” He shot me one of those ‘are you crazy’ looks.

I thought it was established that I’m always out of my mind. “No I’m making a tree house.” Emmett said sawing a piece of wood to perfect length.
“Is that really better than a fairy castle for your favorite person?” I asked smiling hopefully. “Yes it is, I lost a bet to Jasper and I’m building this so I can ban him for life.” Emmett said as he finished the first level and moved onto the next one.
'How mature’ I thought “How big is it going to be?” I asked looking up at the huge tree.

“Three stories tall” He said proudly. I nodded speechless. “Call me when it’s finished.” I said jumping down.

I stepped into the house and looked around. Esme came down the steps upon hearing me come in.

“Stella you’re back. I’m so glad you’re here” She said embracing me. I smiled and told her
“I’m glad to be back. Oh and Emmett is building a tree house in the front yard, something about losing a bet to Jasper or something like that.” She chuckled and shook her head. Jasper came down stairs and smiled at me.

“Do I smell more to your liking?” I asked as he hugged me. I felt him take a big breath and take in my scent.

“You smell lovely” He said pulling me for a kiss.
“Hey, I’m happy you guys are together and all, but public affection is Emmett and my specialty. Save it for the bedroom you two.” Rosalie said coming downstairs.

I pulled away from Jasper, who pouted, and looked up at Rosalie.
“Hey I can make out with my boyfriend if I want to. Would you rather I make out with you?” I asked.

Esme had left and that’s the only reason I asked her that. She looked like she was considering my offer, then she opened her arms.
I ran from speechless Jasper into the arms of my new love. Emmett walked in from working on his tree house.

“Hey what’s going on?” he asked looking at Jasper.
“I think our girlfriends are going to make out in front of us.” Jasper said still looking confused.

“WHAT?!?!” Emmett asked going into the same state of shock as Jasper.
“Yeah that’s right we left you guys for each other.” Rose said hugging me tightly. I hugged her back and looked up at her.

“Kiss me you fool.” I said pulling her down.

I put my back to the guys so they couldn’t see we were faking. Two seconds later we heard two thuds and looked behind us.

Jasper and Emmett ‘fainted’ and were lying on the floor. Rose and I erupted into a fit of uncontrollable laughter that knocked us to the ground into a pile of giggling limbs.

Edward and Bella come down stairs to see what the commotion was about. It must have been quite a scene in front of them, Emmett and Jasper on the floor with blank looks on their faces on one side of the room with me and Rosalie laughing like idiots on the other side of the room.

“What did you guys do?” Bella asked looking over Emmett and Edward looking over Jasper. They were twitching and mumbling nothing in particular.
“We pretended to kiss and they fainted” I said between fits of giggles. Edward and Bella looked at each other before looking at us.

“You guys are crazy.” Edward said shaking his head.

“Congratulations Rosalie, you have made it to my level of insanity.” I smiled hugging her. She laughed and said “I knew I would make it there eventually. Come on let’s see if they are ok.”

We crawled over to our respective other and patted their face lightly.
“Hey wake up sweetie.” I said softly.

Jasper stared to stir and then he sat up and looked at me.

He threw his arms around me and said “Stella, you’ve come back to me! I was so worried you left me for my sister, I’m so glad your back!” I laughed and said “Your too cute for me to leave you love” and kissed him for reassurance.

Emmett woke up and had basically the same reaction. Rosalie and I collapsed into giggles again and this time Bella join in with us. Edward looked slightly scared as he sat beside his brothers.

“Do you guys think Bella will reach Stella’s level of crazy?” He asked looking at us giggling girls.

Emmett and Jasper looked at each other before saying “She can corrupt an entire nation with her ways.”
