"I have a what?"

It was six o’clock and everyone wasn’t at the house. I was pacing and Lacey was laughing at me.

“Calm down Drea,” she chuckled, “Tegan just sent a text saying she was getting changed and then they were coming. They stopped at everyone else’s house to get changed before hers.”

“Still,” I mumbled flopping on the couch, “She’s never really had this big of a party with family before. It’s usually just me and her for her birthday.”

“It’ll be fine,” Gena said walking in, “Just relax.”

I took a deep breath and the door opened revealing Tegan in a beautiful dress and Matt dressed up.

“You clean up nice Mr. Sanders,” Michelle giggled as she walked into the living room.

“Shut up Michelle,” Matt grumbled as they walked in.

When I looked at Matt though his mouth dropped and I smiled.

“Like what you see?” I asked.

“He sure does,” Tegan answered for him since he couldn’t.

“Wait your hair is darker,” I noticed and Tegan smiled.

“We dyed it before you left,” she giggled, “Melanie asked you and you said sure.”

“I’m going to kill you later,” I said smiling, “but I do like it.”

“Thanks Mom,” she said, “Where’s Kyle?”

“In the backyard,” I replied, “That’s where the nonalcoholic drinks are.”

“No fun,” she pouted and I just chuckled.

She walked out toward the backyard and Matt kissed me on the lips hard.

“Should I dress up like this more often?” I asked smiling.

“Yes,” Matt said kissing me again.

“Calm down caveman,” Jimmy said walking in and handing Matt a beer.

“Shut up Jimmy it’s my birthday,” Matt smirked, “And I want her for my present.”

“Matthew there are children present!” I scolded him blushing hardcore.

“Jimmy’s not really a child,” Matt started and I hit his arm.

Matt started laughing and he pulled me on his lap as we crashed into his couch. We spent the night talking and laughing. Soon everyone came in and the boys started sharing stories of us when we were juniors in high school.

“Hey remember when you put the principal’s car on the roof with the seniors Matt?” Jimmy asked.

“That was a good one,” Matt chuckled and I looked over at Tegan.

Matt saw who I was looking at and he raised an eyebrow.

“So I helped the seniors last year with the same prank sue me,” Tegan smirked.

“How did you get the cameras off?” Matt asked shocked.

“A guy owed me a favor,” she said like it was nothing.

“We probably should shut up now,” Brian and Zacky said.

“Dude I love your daughter,” Johnny said, “She’s you Matt but ten times smarter!”

Everyone was laughing except Matt.

“He means she thought through about the cameras,” I chuckled, “Oh come on Matt.”

“Whatever,” he mumbled crossing his arms.

“Don’t be sad Dad,” Tegan said plopping next to him, “I actually got it off the internet. You told MTV in an interview.”

Matt then smiled and started shaking his head.

“Don’t ever do as I do,” he said, “Do as I say.”

“Can’t promise that one Dad,” she smiled.

“Enough presents!” I exclaimed and we started handing out presents to Matt and Tegan.

Tegan got a two new pairs of Ray Ban sunglasses from Zacky and Gena, a hundred dollar iTunes card from her bandmates, a new iTouch from Leana and Jimmy, a new amp from Brian and Michelle, a hundred dollar gift card to Hot Topic from Johnny and Lacey, and a new heart locket and a set of keys from me and Matt.

“What are the keys for?” Tegan asked as I smirked and looked over at Matt.

“Go check it outside,” Matt smiled at me.

Tegan then booked it outside and screamed at the top of her lungs. She then ran back in with her friends following her.

“You did not just give me your ’69 Mustang,” she squealed.

“I think I just did,” Matt grinned, “Happy Birthday Tegan.”

“Oh my god you’re the best parents ever!” she squealed giving him a huge hug and then me.

Matt opened up his present and then they stood up.

“They have a surprise for you guys,” Tegan told me smiling.

“They have to go change,” Melanie added, “So talk amongst yourselves.”

We waited for about twenty minutes before Tegan came back into the room and headed to the stereo. She plugged in her iPod and turned to us.

“We would like to present to you the Big Time Rush wannabes,” she announced and the boys walked down the stairs in all white except for Drew.
I knew what was coming next and started laughing along with the other girls. Tegan hit play and the song started and I knew it was “Boyfriend” featuring Snoop Dogg.

Drew did the rap part of Snoop Dogg and then the boys started lip singing.

The entire time we were laughing because they were dancing and lip singing. If you don’t think it’s funny you should picture five grown men trying to do what seventeen and eighteen year olds are doing. When they were done, Matt looked over at me and smiled.
