Untangle Me

Into Your Arms

I can honestly say that a McChicken has never tasted quite so good. The fact that there were two girls in the place eating that happened to be fans of The Maine only made it sweeter. And when they asked for a picture with the guys, I happily took it for them. The boy’s faces were all redder than Jared’s hair.
After I finished eating and the boys dressed, we decided to go to back to the guy’s apartment and hang out. Once we got there, Pat and Garrett started an intense game of some zombie video game, leaving Jared and me to talk.
We talked about random things, mostly music. I found out that he was one of the guitarists in the band along with Kenny. He seemed really sweet, and like someone you could just talk to for hours. We laughed at Garrett’s victory dance when he beat Pat at the game and they joined our conversation too.
John came home a couple hours later. He was alone and didn’t talk about where he had been, just came in and plopped down on one of the chairs and integrated himself into our conversation. The topic drifted back to music and to the band.
“You never said what you thought of our stuff, Jamie.” Garrett pointed out.
“Well, I didn’t get to finish listening to everything.” I retorted. “You guys should play me something. You’ve got a guitarist and the singer.” I said hopefully.
“I’m in.” Jared said. “John?”
“Yeah, sure. Why not.” He said. Jared got up and grabbed an acoustic guitar from the corner of the room and sat back down.
“What song?” he asked.
“Something I haven’t heard yet.” I cut in.
“Do Into Your Arms, it’s a good acoustic song.” Garrett told them. John nodded and Jared started to play.

“There was a new girl in town
She had it all figured out
And I'll state something rash
She had the most amazing... smile.

I bet you didn't expect that
She made me change my ways
With eyes like a sunset, baby
And legs that went on for days

I'm falling in love
But it's falling apart
I need to find my way back to the start
When we were in love
Things were better than they are
Let me back into...
Into your arms.
Into your arms.

She made her way to the bar
I tried to talk to her
But she seemed so far
Out of my league
I had to find a way to get her next to me

I'm falling in love
But it's falling apart
I need to find my way back to the start
When we were in love
Things were better than they are
Let me back into...
Into your arms.
Into your arms.

Oh she's slipping away
I always reach when I'm thinking of words to say
Oh the things she does
Make it seem like love
If it’s just a game
And I like the way we play

I'm falling in love
But it's falling apart.
I need to find my way back to the start

I'm falling in love
But it's falling apart.
I need to find my way back to the start

When we were in love
Things were better than they are
Let me back into...
Into your arms
Into your arms.

Into your arms.
Into your arms.”

John trailed off and so did the music and the guys looked at me, waiting for my opinion.
“That was amazing.” I grinned. They all cheered and high-fived, happy that they had won me over.
“I’m glad you like us.” John said, smiling at me. “Really glad.”
