Pleasure's All Mine This Time

The chilly breeze stroked Brian and Chloe’s faces while they made their way to the pier after enjoying a meal together.

Despite having a relaxing evening, Brian’s presence by her side made Chloe slightly nervous. Hesitant thoughts were running through her mind and she was trying her best to suppress them, if possible.

The sound of the waves hitting the platform beneath them and the way Chloe’s stilettos drummed against the ground were almost the same as the feelings raging inside her.

She cautiously glanced at Brian, he had his glance fixed on the trail, the moonlight illuminated his handsome face and Chloe couldn’t help but feel her stomach turn.

Her heart began beating faster and she couldn’t shake that foreign feeling off. She turned away from Brian and walked up to the rail, clenching it with her hands.

She stared at the pitch black waters while the wind softly fluttered her hem of her thin dress, she was completely terrified.

“Hey,” She heard Brian say softly and soon felt his hand on the small of her back His touch sent shivers down her spine.

She didn’t want to look at him but couldn’t resist when he Brian cupped the side of her face and his warm eyes stared into hers.

“You look beautiful.” He complemented and Chloe’s heart sank. She couldn’t restrain herself and roughly pushed his hands away.

“Stop it!” She whispered and let go of him.

“Wha-Chloe are you ok?” He asked, puzzled.

“It’s all you ever say to me! It’s getting on my nerves, Brian.” She said in the same tone and Brian’s jaw lightly dropped.

“Chloe, I’m just trying to treat you right-“ Brian said when she cut him off.

“No! You’re acting like I’m eye candy, and I’m sick of it.” She said disgustedly and looked away.

“What?! The last thing I want to do is disrespect you!” Brian claimed, still shocked from Chloe’s sudden outburst.

“Why? So you could take me to your place later on?!” She snapped.

“What the hell’s gotten into you?!” Brian exclaimed, not willing to deal with her accusations.

“Why are you doing this Brian?” She questioned honestly, referring to their evening.

“Doing what? Chloe what the fuck!” He hissed.

“This! Everything! Trying to turn us into something that we are not!” She called painfully.

“I’m trying to figure out what we are!” He called back and pushed his fingers into his sleek hair.

“We are nothing Brian! Nothing! We fuck, and that’s all there is to it!” Chloe felt the stinging tears well up in her eyes.

“And yet you complain that I don’t treat you with respect! Make up your fucking mind Chloe.” Brian said and clenched the railing tightly.

Chloe’s mouth opened to respond but then closed, she didn’t know what to say. “Fuck this!” She thought to herself and turned her back to Brian, walking away.

“Am I really that bad?” She heard Brian say in the background.

“What?!” She exclaimed, quickly glancing at him over her bare shoulder.

“What is it that I did that was so wrong that you won’t even give me a chance?” Brian questioned, looking straight into her hurtful green eyes.

“Nothing Brian! I don’t care about what you do or don’t do.” Chloe lied.

“Can you stop being so difficult?” Brian caught up with her in no time and grabbed her wrist.

“No!” Her voice cracked and she quickened her pace.

“Chloe, are you crying?” Brian asked softly and his words were the last straw. Chloe’s tears broke free and streamed down her beautiful face.

“No.” She whimpered and turned her face away from Brian.

“Chloe…” Brian's fingers touched her face and she refused to look at him and yet wanted to sink into his touch so badly.

Her knees were shaking and her body felt like it was going to explode with rage and fear. “Don’t!” She once again pushed his hands away.

“Dammit Chloe just tell me what it is! I’m this close to walking away right now!” Brian hissed and enchained his words with a hand gesture.

“Fine! Go ahead, leave! Just like I expect you to!” She called.

“Chloe, please.” Brian sighed, his tone much calmer, “I want to understand.”

“You can’t! You can’t understand me and you won’t!” She said desperately.

He was about to ask why, but Chloe was way ahead of him. “Because I don’t trust you Brian!” She finally confessed and look him straight in the eyes.

He was angry, hurt and confused. He remained silent for a few moments and Chloe was terrified that he was going to snap and tell her all the things that she was so afraid to hear.

A low and calm “Why?” was all the left his mouth.

“Because! I just can’t confide in you!” Chloe panicked and a couple more tears fell onto her cheeks.

“Don’t freak out on me Chloe! You’ve never even given me chance to disappoint you in the first place, or on the contrary prove myself to you!” Brian spoke clearly, looking her right in the eyes.

“You are so overprotective of yourself that you just shut yourself off! Let me do it, let me protect you! Trust me!” He demanded. Chloe wasn’t sure what was going on, he was criticizing her and committing to her at the same time.

“You’re standing here, giving me all this shit and guess what? I still want you! Isn’t this enough of a proof for you?” Brian asked, not expecting her to answer.

Chloe’s heart was beating fast, she was hurt and flattered and shocked, all at the same time.

Her lips parted while she looked at him, searching his eyes for answers to questions that she didn’t dare to ask.

“What are you so afraid of? What’s stopping you?” He saw the hesitance in her gaze and Chloe felt completely captivated by his words.

It was now or never, she wanted to let the walls she’d built to crumble, she wanted to feel free.

“It’s everything Brian! It’s your job and lifestyle! How can I commit to you while knowing that you might suddenly leave for a yearlong tour?!” She asked sincerely.

“Chloe’s it’s my job! I’m freaking living my dream, how can I not go? I’m nothing without the band.” He answered and Chloe understood him but it wasn’t a burden that she wanted to take on.

“We’ve got nothing to lose! Just time, maybe.” Brian said. “You’re what I need Chloe, I can’t let this slip away.” He said lowly.

“And what about what I need? What about my dreams Brian? Do you honestly think I’ll go on tour with you? I don’t belong on a bus Brian.” Chloe hissed.

“Chloe I’m not forcing you to do anything! The choice is all yours.” He sighed. “Why are you planning so far ahead? We’re releasing the album only in October! You and I-“

“Might not make it till then? Right?” She asked bitterly, predicting what he’s going to say.

“You’re doing it again! Why do you always-“

“Do what Brian? Try to protect myself? Keep myself from getting hurt? Is it such a sin Brian?” She said.

Brian took Chloe’s face in his hands, caressing her jaw line with his thumbs. He drew closer to her and Chloe could feel his pointy nose brush against hers. “I want you.” Brian said and Chloe’s heart turned.

“I want you bad. Give me a chance.” He said in a low voice and his lips gently caressed hers. Her chest was about to explode with emotion and she didn’t even have the strength to reply.

Her shaky hands rested on his shoulders and she closed her eyes, sinking into the warmth of his hands while their lips pressed together.

Brian softly caressed her lips with his, he nibbled on her bottom lip while his hands stroked her cheeks, making her tears disappear.

Chloe kissed him back just as daintily, he was giving her sensations that she had never experienced before, only by kissing her.

Chloe felt his tongue lick her bottom lip and she parted her pouty lips, letting their tongues entwine. Her cold hands touched his manly neck and moved lower to rest on his exposed chest.

This was so different from any form of contact they had had beforehand. Her heart raced as they stood there, in the moonlight.

Chloe’s eyes snapped open and she pulled away from Brian.

Her fingertips touched her bottom lip and she looked up into Brian eyes. She drew her gaze away from him. “Take me home.” She said.

“Chloe,” Brian almost pleaded.

“Brian, Please.” Her voice cracked and she once again turned to walk away, leaving him behind.
