This Imperfect Cemetery Drive

Chapter Four

Gerard's POV

I was woken up by screaming...again.

"Davey, fucking knock it off!" Someone yelled angrily. A few seconds later I heard someone running down the hall and a door slam. Taryn shuffled in my arms and moaned tiredly.

"What the fuck is going on now?" She yawned out and then snuggled back into my chest. I looked over her shoulder at the alarm clock next to the bunk.

6:47PM This time difference thing sucks. Me and Taryn were used to the European time zone, MCR just got back from a long tour in Europe and joined AFI for this one. We have a gig tonight. I'm pretty sure we have to be there...at about 8:00PM. So, If I get up now...we'll have about a hour to practice.

I sat up, unwrapping my arms sadly from around Taryn, but she stopped me. She sat up behind me and wrapped her arms around my neck.

"Don't Go, Gerard." She begged and kissed my neck lightly.

"I have to go practice with the guys."

"Oh, can I watch?" She asked.

"Of course." I said. She released me from her loving grip and crawled out of the bed, leaving the room after she winked at me seductively. I chuckled to myself and picked up my clothes from the floor, putting them on lazily. I walked out of the MCR bunk area and into the lounge room area.

"Guys, get your asses moving! Time to go practice!" I yelled as I entered the lounge area. Frank jumped up with a smile on his face, running to the back room to get his guitar, Ray followed, a little less ecstatic than Frank was. Mikey has been toying with his bass all day, so he didn't really have to do much to get ready. Mikey stood up, walking slowly to the place beside me. He's the best brother I could ever ask for, I placed my hand on his shoulder as Bob groaned and stood up, pulling a pair of black and red drumsticks from his back pocket.

Me, Mikey, and Bob walked down the small hallway in the direction of the much larger practice room. When we walked in...we say 4 guys in the room.

"Hey, Jade!" Mikey called out excitedly. I don't really see why he was so excited...we're on a tour bus...he's bound to see him every few seconds. Jade's head shot up from his IPOD and looked in Mikey's direction.

"Hey, Mikes." Jade greeted.

"Dude, where's Davey?" Mikey asked, automatically gaining all of my attention.

"Having sex..." A guy sitting in the corner said angrily.

"Smith, don't be an ass." Jade said. Smith scowled and placed his hands on his knees, using them as a support as he stood up wobbly.

"You guys need to practice?" He asked. I nodded.

"Ok. We're not going to need the room. some people are having sex and other people aren't paying attention." He sulked and walked past me out of the room. The others followed not long after.

Ray and Frank walked into the room not long after, with they're favorite guitars in hand.

"What songs are we doin' at the show?" Bob asked, twirling a drumstick expertly around his finger.

"I don't know...Brian has the list and he's all the way in Long Beach waiting for us." I said. I hate it when Brian has the list...that means we have to scramble our acts together for the particular songs he chooses...it's just not good.

"Pick a song guys." I said, bending over to plug the microphone cord into the small speakers against the white walls.

"OH, OH, OH! I KNOW A SONG!!" Frank yelled excitedly, causing me and Mikey to back a little bit away from him, in fear of getting hit by his flailing arms.

"Ummm, ok Frank." I said.

"Can we play Thank you For the Venom?" Frank asked, playing randomly with the strings on his white guitar.

"Yeah, do that one." Taryn said as she entered the room. Ray nodded and Frank started the intro along with him. A few moments later I could hear my cellphone ringing faintly. Taryn picked it up off the couch and looked at it, then at me questioningly.

"Answer it..." I mouthed to her. She nodded and left the room, returning a few songs later.

"Who was it?" I asked, lifting up my black shirt a little to wipe the sweat off my forehead.

"Brian. He told me the songs you guys are going to play. For one, you guys are playing after AFI tonight." She said, moving her short black hair out of her face and reaching into her back pocked, pulling out a piece of crinkled paper. I set the microphone back on the stand, and walked behind her, placing my hands on her hips and my chin on her shoulder, reading the list from behind her back.

"You guys are playing Give 'Em Hell Kid, Hang 'Em High, Vampires Will Never Hurt You, Bury Me In Black, I'm Not Ok, Helena, Our Lady Of Sorrows, I Never Told You What I Do For A Living, Headfirst for Halo's and Cemetery Drive." She said, handing the list to me over her shoulder. I took a look at the paper. It was a late night show tonight. AFI 10-11:30PM, MCR 11:45PM-1:00AM.

"Guys, we go on stage at 11:35PM." I told them. They all groaned. Late night shows always tired us out quickly but always, for some reason, got the best reaction from the fans.

Two songs was enough practice for us for now, we'd have more time before we go on if we needed it.

"Ok guys, we're done for now." I said as they collected their things
