They Say True Love Would Never Leave...
"What are friends for?"
Back to Allie’s P.O.V.
I heard the front door open and close as someone came onto the porch.
“Allie?” It was Mikey. I turned to look at him. “Can I talk to you?”
“Yeah,” I said. Mikey nodded his head and sat down next to me on the top step.
“I want you to know I love you,” Mikey said.
“I love y--,” I started to say, but Mikey cut me off.
“No,” said Mikey. He looked me in the eyes. “You don’t love me the same way I do. I can tell.”
I knew deep down he was right, so I just nodded my head.
“Ever since we got together, we haven’t been as close,” Mikey said. “I think that’s a sign that we shouldn’t be together.”
“Are you breaking up with me?” I asked.
“Yes,” he said. “We’re better off as friends anyways.”
I nodded my head.
“Plus, I know you still love my brother,” he said. I looked down feeling guilty for holding onto my feelings for Gerard while still with Mikey. I felt Mikey’s fingers touch my chin gently, forcing my head back up to look at him. “I don’t care that you still love him. I think you two need each other. So go get him.”
I smiled at Mikey before hugging him.
“Thank you Mikey,” I said. I stood up, planning to go talk to Gerard.
“Hey,” said Mikey, smiling. “What are friends for?”
