Caught Between the Two

After that day Jack showed up at my house, things slowly began going back to normal. His loud and funny self was back. To keep him in check, I decided to plan a day for just the two of us. He agreed to it immediately.
As we were walking around the mall, we had noticed that people already had Christmas decorations hanging in their stores.
"Why are people already hanging Christmas stuff up? Let's at least wait till Thanksgiving is over, fuck."
I giggled. "Quit complaining Jack."
"I'm not complaining, I'm just saying." He chuckled.
After calming down a bit, I sighed. "Hey Jack?"
"Yea, what's up?" He smiled.
"I hope you don't mind me asking but why did you disappear?"
I noticed his smile slowly drop. "Oh uh well..."
"You don't have to tell me if you don't want to. I just got curious is all."
He shook his head. "No it's cool. The reason for that was because I'm kinda in love with someone."
Maddie and Brittany were right. Jack was in love with someone but it still didn't make sense to me.
"Why did you ignore everyone though?"
He sighed. "This guy I'm friends with is falling for her too and I guess I got angry."
I nodded. "I see. You must really love her then huh?"
"Yea I do. Thing is I'm too much of a coward to even tell her."
"You're not a coward Jack. We all get nervous when it comes to those things."
"Have you ever gone through something like that?"
I blushed and nodded. "Yea I have. Still am actually."
"Oh."
"Yea but hey we'll hopefully get the courage to tell them soon. Right? It just takes time."
He nodded and smiled. "Yea."
We continued having fun on our day together without bringing up our sucky love lifes. It began getting late and that meant our day together was coming to an end. My mom had picked us up and taken Jack home before finally going home ourselves.
"So did you two have fun?"
I nodded. "Yep. It's always a fun time with Jack."
She smiled. "I'm glad. He seems different though."
"Different, how? He seems the same to me."
My mom shrugged. "I'm not sure how or in what way but it's a good kind of different."
I giggled and shook my head. "Whatever mom."
Just as we were pulling into the driveway, I recieved a text from Zack.

Hey. How was your date with Jack?

To: Zack M.
Hey and it wasn't a date. Don't twist things around Merrick.

From: Zack M.
Haha. Alright, so much for me having fun. So what are you doing?

To: Zack M.
Well, wouldn't you like to know. ;)

Don't tease. ;P

To: Zack M.
Ew you sicko!

I'm just kidding. Anyway can I ask you something?

To: Zack M.
Sure. Ask away :)

From: Zack M.
Well I was wondering if you'd like to go out with me sometime. If not then
that's cool.
I paused for a bit. Zack Merrick, my brother's bandmate/best friend, just asked
me out. What the fuck am I suppose to say?!
Zack's POV
Fuck, I think scared her. Maybe it was the wrong time to ask her.
"So what did she say?"
I looked up away from my phone and at my bedroom door, where my sister stood leaned up against the door frame.
I sighed. "Nothing yet. I think I may have scared her off."
"Text her again."
"But..."
"Just do it Zack."
I nodded and texted Jasey again.
To: Jasey
Jasey?
About a minute later, she finally replied.
From: Jasey
I'm here and about your question, yes. I'll go out with you.

To: Jasey
Really?

From: Jasey
haha yea. It'll be fun. Just let me know when.

To: Jasey
How about the day we're out of school for Thanksgiving break? There's this really cool amusement park that just opened in Baltimore.

From: Jasey
I love amusement parks. I'm in.

To: Jasey
Awesome. Um see you around?

From: Jasey
Totally. :)
I sighed and fell back into my bed with a smile on my face.
I heard Noel giggle and sit down next to me. "I take it she said yes?"
I nodded. "Yea."
"I see. So what are you going to do when Rian finds out?"
I quickly sat up and looked at her. "Oh fuck. I didn't think of that."
Noel smirked. "I promise not to tell him on one condition."
I groaned. "Why am I starting to get the feeling that I just fell for another one of your devilish schemes again?"
She giggled. "Cause you're so easy to fool big brother."
I sighed and shook my head. "Whatever. what's this condition of yours?"
"Let me date Alex Gaskarth."
I groaned. "If I say yes, you promise not to say a word to Rian?"
She nodded. "Scout's honor."
"You're not a scout though."
"Oh my gosh, whatever. I promise."
I sighed and nodded. "You can date Gaskarth."
She squealed and tackled me in a hug. "Thank you Zacky! You're the best big bro!"
I pushed her off and laughed. "Ok I get it now get out."
She kissed me on the cheek and dashed out of my room yelling 'Thank you'. I'm not usually a fan of Noel's evil ways but this time around, they weren't bad. I scored a date with Jasey Rae Dawson.
