Sorry That I Love You

I woke up to the sound of my phone receiving a new text message and clumsily felt around my table for it. I saw the name blinking on my screen and couldn’t help but smile. Paul.

‘Good morning, how are you feeling today?’ I smiled at his thoughtfulness, not only had he texted me first like I joked about but he cared enough to see if I was okay.

‘Good morning, and pretty good I guess. I have all my fingers and toes so no hypothermia’ The rest of my early morning went along like this. Me and Paul texting, I finally found enough of an appetite to eat some breakfast, and I got a quick shower. When I got out of the shower I had a new text from Paul and opened it happily.

‘So can you be ready in about 20 minutes?’ I answered back confused.

‘I guess so, why ?’

‘Because your coming with me. Everyone’s going to the beach and I know how much everyone misses you’ I would have been extremely excited to go if there wasn’t one problem with this plan.

‘What about Jake?’

‘If he does end up coming I’ll be there for you. I know Embry invited him but I highly doubt he’ll show, and don’t forget me kicking his ass is still up on the table’ I couldn’t help but laugh at the end of that text. I figured nothing really that terrible could happen, I’d get to hang out with Paul and all my friends and if Jake showed up it would just be a little awkward. Everything would be fine.

‘Okay, 20 minutes starting now!’ I quickly put down my phone and rushed to get ready. I turned on my straightener and waited for it to heat up. Quickly decided on a pair of jeans shorts and a cami with my favorite bikini underneath. I looked at my clock and I still had over ten minutes left, good. As soon as my straightener was ready I quickly ran it through my hair and was thankful my hair was naturally wavy and not curly. Five minutes left. I quickly found my favorite pair of flip flops and just put on some eye liner. I ran downstairs, quickly said goodbye to Charlie and grabbed a hoodie just in case. I was outside my house just as I saw Paul’s car coming down my street.

“Your good” he said smiling as I opened the passenger side door.

“I know” I said smiling confidently at him. We slowly pulled away from my house and were off to La Push “So what exactly are the plans for today?”

“Most likely just hanging around the beach and going swimming if it gets nice enough”

“Does everyone know I’m going to be there?” I asked.

“Yes” he said laughing “I didn’t want you pulling another stunt like last time”

“Wow Paul when did you become such a stick in the mud” I said seriously but once I turned to look at his face which was a mix of terrible fake sadness and horror I couldn’t help but start having a giggle fit “Nice face” I said in between laughs.

“You too” he said sarcastically and now it was my turn to give him a fake sad face. He turned to me and immediately began laughing hysterically “Too adorable” he said smiling at me causing me to turn a deep shade of red. I could actually feel the blood rushing to my cheeks. We quickly found ourselves at First Beach and the second Paul put his car in park I was pulled out by Seth’s arms.

“Where the hell have you been Allison?” Seth said as he put me down outside of Paul’s car.

“Uhm I got kidnaped?”I questioned.

“Liar” Seth said chuckling. I was quickly picked up by everyone and fake yelled at for disappearing again. I laid down on a beach towel as the boys started playing football. Paul and Quil against Embry and Seth. I couldn’t help but start laughing as Paul and Quil started losing and Paul “accidentally” pushed Seth in the water. Well I guess football time was over. I watched as Paul and Seth started play fighting and Quil joined them. I became slightly confused when Embry didn’t jump in after them and instead started coming my way.

“So you and Paul, huh?” he said sitting next to me in the sand.

“We’re just friends Embry”

“Yeah okay Alli, you’ve always been such a terrible liar” he said laughing “And from the way you both keep looking at each other it doesn’t seem like your just friends” he said causing me to blush.

“I don’t know what your talking about”

“Whatever Alli, but please be careful around him. I don’t want you getting hurt, he can be really dangerous when you piss him off” he said seriously.

“I’ll be fine Embry, I trust him” I said smiling as I saw Paul look over at me from the water and grin at me.

“As long as your careful Alli, now let’s get in there before they get suspicious” he said standing up and offering me his hand.

“I think I’ll just stay here actually”

“Like hell you will” he said smirking and picking me up by my waist.

“Embry Call, put me down this instant” I said yelling and kicking my legs. I could hear everyone else laughing and telling him to throw me in “I hate all of you!”

“No you don’t you love us” I heard Seth say before I was submerged in the freezing cold water.

“Your very lucky I do” I said when I finally surfaced. We swam until the sun started going down and then everyone started drying off and heading their own way. In the end it was only me and Paul left on the beach as we walked to his car in silence. I curled up in his passenger seat and dosed off until Paul gently shook me awake.

“We’re here” he said smiling as his hand lingered at my fingertips. The warmth was comforting and made me want to go right back to sleep.

“Thanks for the ride and for inviting me out today” I said smiling opening my door “Good night”

“Night Alli, I’ll talk to you tomorrow”

“I guess it’s my turn to text you first ?” I said giggling.

“Yes it is” he chuckled and started his car as I got out. I quickly walked up my drive way and found my way to my room. I got changed into a pair of pajamas and quickly fell asleep to the sound of wolves howling outside my window.
