I Knew I Loved You

"Dillon." My dad knocked on my bedroom door, peaking in. I hugged my knees and wiped my eyes on my sweatpants. "Are you okay?"

"No." I tucked the loose hairs behind my ears, and looked at him. "Why didn't you tell me Adam was coming?" I asked. He sighed and sat on the edge of my bed. He rested his hand on my knee.

"You're going to have to deal with people you don't like in life, and this is no exception." He said. I watched him, pushing my glasses up a little.

"I don't wanna deal with him though." I mumbled quietly. He chuckled.

"I know angel, but that's life." He kissed the top of my head before standing up.

"Well life sucks." I buried my face into my knees for a moment then looked back up. "Can I just take a few days off?" I asked. He raked his hand through his hair while thinking.

"Well, I guess. But that's not really going to help keep you away from Adam. Or the other way around." He said. I looked at him, confused.

"What?" I asked then jumped up. "What did you do?!" I shouted, waiting for an answer.

"Well..." He paused. "I might have invited them over to work on songs."

"Dad!" I shouted, throwing my hands up. "You were never a teenage girl!" I groaned, falling back onto my bed. He chuckled.

"No, I'm proud to say I never was." He teased. "It's fine, it's only for a few days." He promised.

"Days?" I sat up again then groaned. "Just leave." I muttered, pointing to the door.

Great, now I have to deal with Adam. In my house.
